We delve into the data this evening in our first members article of the week. Watford, Man City and Everton’s strikers arrive under analysis, whilst we also assess United and Newcastle’s attacks before casting an eye over a couple of defensive differentials from City and Liverpool.

United's stats are horrendous in attack.

    Would you rather play:

    A) Williams (nor)
    B) Dawson (mun)

    8. Jose's Magic Omelette

      10 years, 1 month ago

Yes. I am torn between two choices right now.

      1. Darmian to someone like Koscielny or Bellerin. This would mean having to do Sánchez to Özil and downgrade Pellè to either Ighalo or Diouf so I could get Agüero in for Bony (three transfers).

      2. Darmian to Moreno. This would mean being able to do Sánchez to Özil to afford Bony to Agüero (two transfers).

      1. Demí
        • 14 Years

I like the 2nd option best. Liverpool have good fixtures after the city game and less transfers used

          • 12 Years

By the hammer of Thor those fixtures are incredible! Don't know why I was so obsessed with Koscielny, I think I'd worked out a good fixture rotation with my other four centre backs and was too obsessed with that.

Loads of ways to do it in 3 transfers. Depends what else is going on. I already have 3 saved.

Pelle to Aguero, Mitrovic to Ighalo, Kolarov to 4.7

Pelle to Aguero, Kolarov and Clyde to Moreno and 4.6 (or similar)

Maybe KDB or Sanchez downgrades but that seems unlikely

Well, I've had a couple of (actually four in a row) decent weeks now, finally up in the top 10 (yay!), so I can really sense a slump ahead.

As for next week, I think it will be a low scoring week other than Leicester attack, so lining up this way:

    Butland,
    Dawson, **Janmaat, van Dijk,
Sanchez, Mahrez (c), de Bruyne, **Payet,
    Pelle, **Kane, Vardy.

(Ruddy, Westwood, Huth, Nyom) - £3.7m in the bank.

My defence is really bad, three away games with two of them difficult. But hardly sure I want to use a transfer on defence two weeks in a row.

Also, I bought Kane EXACTLY with these two weeks in mind, but not exactly sure of selling him this week. Fancy Lukaku from GW13 myself.

So, Kane to Lukaku, Payet to some Mane-esque midfielder, a defender from United... or save and go into the int break with 2 FT.

    Much appreciated. 🙂

Can anyone with a good knowledge of football rules help clarify something. On Saturday in the Man City vs Norwich game Russell Martin was sent off for blocking the ball in front of goal with his arm and has therefore been given a ban. I noticed though that Sterling was given an assist which implies the penalty was given for a foul in the build up. Therefore should the sending off still stand? Do Norwich have a case for getting the ban rescinded?

I'm monitoring assists within FPL. There is a real inconsistency on what they give and don't give (based on their rules).

You've made more of this than necessary. His assist was awarded as it was his shot that Martin handled.

As a Fabianski owner I can't help but notice he has been due a price drop every day for about the last week now (FPL statistics). Anybody else find the whole secret price change thing annoying with FPL?

I know the argument - same for everyone, but it isn't! Some players seem to change price more rapidly than others. The fact it's secret stinks!

Spoke to my mate who supports United and he considers Rojo more of a medium term rotation risk than I'd previously thought. That's enough to tip me over the edge and settle for Moreno I think.

Not seeing much love for bringing in Ighalo on the boards this week...and quite a few flogging him for more expensive shiny new toys...Is he too cheap?

It doesn't matter who he plays for or how much he costs...what matters is how many touches in the box he gets, how many shots in the box, his shot accuracy...blah blah blah..

Top scorer in English football for 2015 and folk are flogging him for players of equal quality but three mill more...Must be crackers...

I sold for Kane this week, the stats were something like Watford only scoring 8 goals although he has been involved in 6 of the goals prior to this week but a good price and easy enough to change back to if I decide.

Watford don't score many goals and are unlikely to for the remainder of the season. He's scored or assisted 9 of their 10. Surely not sustainable. That said, I thought he looked very good at the weekend and your points are all valid

Anyone who does the Bet365 inplay offers.

Bet £50 prematch get £50 bet inplay.

Bellerin is in the listing for first goalscorer he is as we know out and won't play your £50 pre match will be refunded as a non runner. And you'll get the £50 in play as a no lose shot to nothing.

    1. ash and swanson inc
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 1 month ago

It is the in-play bet that gets refunded if it fails - value is up to initial prematch bet! (I think anyway) - from their email today:

Place a pre-match bet on the Bayern Munich v Arsenal game and we'll give you a risk free In-Play bet to the same stake (up to £50) on the big match. T&Cs apply.

To qualify for your risk free In-Play bet, simply place a bet before kick-off then, once the game starts, place another bet on any In-Play market. If your FIRST In-Play bet loses we will refund this stake, up to the same value as your largest pre-match bet (max refund £50). Where more than one In-Play selection is placed on the same bet slip, the risk free bet will be deemed to be the one which is first on the bet slip.

      1. Demí
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

Both would get refunding in this case. The Bellerin bet is like a normal void bet, but it activates the in-play bet. No risk as Tony says

ahh the non runner clause! missed that, it does say it may clear bets that cant lose though, although it hasnt so far...

        I know that.

But backing Bellerin prematch activates the free bet. And Bellerin is no lose unlike other things people will back to activate the free bet.

The secures a completely no lose bet.

That's bloody genius. Unfortunately I've already done my usual over 0.5 goals. But that's ok 'cos I plan to punt on 0-0 anyway - unlikely it may be, but it's such a big price...and it'd suit Arsenal fine if they can manage it.

I get this but the possible lift on this is usually ridiculously low for my liking.

wow. Yeah, that'd be nice. I usually just cover the 0-0 offsite to guarantee the money back, and pick something out that I fancy in running.

But I'm not feeling very inspired this time and some think the game will be tight. Here's one such preview: http://www.goonersguide.com/football-pick-27366-Bayern-Munich-v-Arsenal.htm
