Following on from Halloween, itโ€™s time to revisit a horror show Gameweek from Granville.

Having gathered an array of green arrows in recent weeks, my ScoutCast co-host produced a pair of transfer howlers, watching on from behind the sofa as both Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez banged nails into his Gameweek coffin.

Jonty and I do our best to dwell on Granvilleโ€™s misery for as long as possible, before attempting to cheer him up with similarly scary tales from the community in โ€œRough with the Smoothโ€.

We then take on your questions, debating Leicesterโ€™s legs, Unitedโ€™s decline and whether we can actually tame the Fantasy Football troll that is Romelu Lukaku.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on Tuesday evening (before the news on Hector Bellerinโ€™s injury) via our YouTube channel.

You can catch the full un-edited version of this episode via the larger player below, or take in the โ€œpolishedโ€ audio effort via this link or the smaller player.

You can get wind of future episodes by subscribing to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bench in right order?

    Myhill

    Bony, Vardy, Pellè

Strange as it sounds I'd probably bench Mane who I brought in for a hit last GW and bench Mahrez for ๐Ÿ™ He was obviously never meant to be trusted.

KDB only because the fixture looks tasty but he is not explosive... may go Sanchez by the end.
Not Mahrez as Watford are a pretty well drilled defence.

      2. tm245

No need for it in a dgw.

Bench boost when you load up on dgwers and don't want to bench your premium sgw players.

Triple captain for Aguero or Benteke on a dgw.

        1. ducksfly2gether
          • 10 Years
          10 years, 1 month ago

Why wouldn't you want an extra attacker in a dgw. Why no need? Seems like if there are 3 dgws, you would want to use 1 chip in each.

          1. tm245
            • 14 Years
            10 years, 1 month ago

I would happily restructure my entire team for the bench boost, or take a hit to make sure I had my triple captain set, when the game weeks roll around, but a dgw attacker over a defender doesn't seem to be worth the wait.

It could make a little bit of sense, but really what you are banking on is your 8th best attacker having a DGW. The chances are somewhat slim, and the opportunity to have a bunch of attackers with great fixtures - like this week - probably outweighs holding onto it forever.

      3. Puyol Pants Up
        • 11 Years

    begovic --- henessey
janmaat cedric moreno -- souare davies
sanchez yaya kdb mahrez --- mane
    martial pelle vardy

    A: martial + janmaat >> lukaku + nyom
B: martial + davies >> lukaku + simpson (nailed on?)...gets rid of a non starter (davies)
C: davies >> nyom, play AoA, bench cedric, keep martial and carry over FT
D: martial >> ighalo, then bench ighalo and carry over FT

Ighalo is a a great enabler and an easier benching problem. On a the other hand, lukaku is a buy and hold strategy.

Care to explain what you liked?

        Was it the unrealistic story?
Or was it the number of scientific errors?
Or was it the most predictable ending?

If all movies had to replicate real life 100%, the film industry would be kak.

Not everyone watches the movie to analyse the science behind it...I watch a movie to enjoy it and relax, and Martian did just that - it was fantastic, imo.

          Everything's subjective aye ๐Ÿ™‚

Indeed, that's what the book versions for ๐Ÿ˜‰

Some of the characterizations didn't match the book, but all for the better imo. Obviously if you want more a detailed & in-depth look at the Martian's world, then go read the book. Movie was great though & it's got top critical acclaim as well.

I thought the story was not as far fetched as many Sci-Fi's out there and not so fantastical as to make it hard to suspend my disbelief.

I am no scientist so would not know (or care) regards scientific exactness.
The ending was always going to come out that way... everyone knows this when you go to watch a Hollywood blockbuster. You want a twist then I suggest going to watch a european made film.

The cinematography was excellent as was the production design. The landscape look amazing and I think Damon was terrific in carrying most of the film on his back, alone with nothing to look at but greenscreens.

            Well said.

And the science behind it was pretty damn good.

I completely agree. Watched it last night. So drawn out and long ended that had nothing overall. Great for a Sunday night watch but wouldn't waste a cinema trip on it

West Brom's fixtures look harsh so maybe Dawson out, but given how bad United have been, it can probably wait (I'm probably keeping Evans for the duration).

Thanks. Intend to get rid of Sako at some point. Downgrade him to someone like Davis (Southampton) to help the cash flow for possibility of Aguero, or (this is tempting) make a short term swap to Sterling and play AOA (or 3-5-2 if Ighalo doesnt play)?

Anyone think since KDB was benched mid-week he's a risk to not start this weekend? Or a risk to captain him?

When do you plan to play the bench boost chip?
I thought that now when Aguero is still out and a lot of people have strong attacking 8, maybe it is worth doing it. Also lots of us used AOA and have a benching headache every week.

DGW for BB is not a best option imo as it is impossible to get 15 DGWers.
    What do you think?

For DGWs, it depends on the quality of your squad/SGWers.

its not about getting 15 dgw players dude...people dont understand that. if your mediocre 5th mid (or whoever else) has the dgw then thats the worthwhile reason to use the chip. unless you have 15 starting players with absolutely great fixtures, which seems unlikely, its better expected value to at least get a free double gameweek from someone you may have otherwise benched or not bought
