Following on from Halloween, it’s time to revisit a horror show Gameweek from Granville.

Having gathered an array of green arrows in recent weeks, my ScoutCast co-host produced a pair of transfer howlers, watching on from behind the sofa as both Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez banged nails into his Gameweek coffin.

Jonty and I do our best to dwell on Granville’s misery for as long as possible, before attempting to cheer him up with similarly scary tales from the community in “Rough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, debating Leicester’s legs, United’s decline and whether we can actually tame the Fantasy Football troll that is Romelu Lukaku.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on Tuesday evening (before the news on Hector Bellerin’s injury) via our YouTube channel.

You can catch the full un-edited version of this episode via the larger player below, or take in the “polished” audio effort via this link or the smaller player.

You can get wind of future episodes by subscribing to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is A.Ayew a real captain material for this GW?
Norwich has conceded in all of there 11 matches till now and if swansea gonna score, I think it will come through Ayew. Or Siggy on set pieces.
But with the captain dilemma I am having, I am just thinking - "WHY NOT AYEW!"

    Else, who's the best (c) pick among the below;
    KDB, Pellè, Vardy, Mahrez, Alexis

    Whatcha reckon?

    A) Bony -> Giroud
    B) Save

Given the Wally news and Ollie's (and Arsenal's) form, perhaps now is as good a time as any?

    DDG
    Kolarov, VVD, Moreno
    Sanchez, KDB, Mane, Mahrez
    Lukaku, Pelle, Bony

    Hennessey, Simpson, Surman, Bellerin
    Bank 0.5m, 1FT

Yeah, it's not an obvious move by any stretch. But Giroud's fixture is arguably just as good (from an attacking perspective) and he's in better form, has better fixtures and with Kun due back sooner than Wally is nailed on for longer.

Hey Gents Are we gtg ?

    Butland
    Kolarov - Wollscheild - Richards
    Yaya - KDB (c) - Sanchez - Mahrez
    Pelle - Vardy (v) - Lukaku

    McCarthy - Payet - Targett - Darmian
    1FT 0.4 ITB

    A) Save and keep the FT for post international break
    B) Darmian > Moreno
    C) Darmian > Rojo

Benching dilemma as well... After benching Mahrez last week i m sick to my stomach to bench Payet this week...

For those with huge benching Dilemmas, here are my thoughts.

    Mahrez ]
Vardy ]---Mentioned above by several, these 3 seem unbenchable.
    Payet ]

The above ^ 3 are highly involved in their team's offense, and have the stats and production that shows they're not set to stop. Payet against an Everton defense who's one of the weakest in the league over the last four in regards to chances conceded. He also has the massive forehead of Carrol to aim at from corners. Everton have conceded the second most headed chances over the last 4.

Pelle: Despite his returns, his Home/Away stats still support a trend that he does much better at home than away. Obviously Sunderland will want to play a defensive game, but they are still feeble at the back. I like Pelle in this fixture, but I think they can handle him in the air. Mane to shine in that game.

Wijnaldum: A player from my team that I'm reluctant to bench because of his and Newcastle's recent stats, which should continue against Bournemouth, who has a similar caliber defense (stats-wise) to the team's Newcastle has been able to put up solid offensive stats against.

Kane: His stats have been great all season, no one can argue that. His production however, not so much. His recent production has come against Bournemouth and Villa, not a CB pairing like Mert and Kosc. I think that they will do their job in shutting him down, and as a whole, Arsenal has the potential to control this game despite its injury ridden squad.

    tl;dr edition:

In order of benchability, from most benchable to least:
    - Wijnaldum
    - Kane
    - Pelle
    - Payet
    - Mahrez
    -Vardy

I hope this helps at least one confused soul. For me, it sorted it out.

Lukaku's record against WHU is sterling, and at times he was brilliant last game. I wouldn't want to bench him, although it could pay off.

KDB is interesting. Obviously central to City's attack, but his goal threat, stats-wise, hasn't been there despite scoring several. If you look at shots in the box, penalty area touches and big chances, he's very far off the pace of anyone being discussed right now. That said, in comparison, I would bench Payet, Wijnaldum, Kane, Pelle and many other players over such a class player against a bottom-dwelling AV.

Those are all great points, thats why i am really struggling this week. I did bring this on myself, didnt think it would be this hard haha.

I just do not see benching Payet this game week. I do not own Kane or Wijn, so it leaves Pelle vs Lukaku vs Kdb.

I will be captaining Mahrez this week i believe or Sanchez, most likely the former.

Wow, it might just have to be Lukaku if that's the way you're leaning.

However, I think, and I say I think, if I had that front 8 I would bench Pelle.

I had Pelle benched the whole week, now leaning towards Lukaku. I brought this on myself last gw when i upgraded Westwood to play AoA with Mane.

I am unsure what to do, i know i will be selling one of those mids over the int break and going back to a fodder mid!

I did precisely the same, Westwood in fact. I can't wait for that either, but until then, a decision like this looms.

If you want to manage risk, obviously bench Lukaku. I don't know whether or not to manage risk with benching this week or play with the risk to reap some differential points.

To be quite honest i might just bench Pelle like i was planning the whole week. I will be bringing Surman for Mane most likely over the Int Break and then seeing what the deal is with Kun. Will most likely ship Cresswell out or Williams.

Morning all. I'm still struggling with whether to keep Huth and save a FT, or get Smalling. How likely do we think a Man Utd CS is? I don't think Leicester will keep one, so even if I have to take a -4 over internationals, would I be likely to still break even?

To be honest, when i endured .2 drop from Huth i will just keep him as pure bench fodder and play in an odd game. For example this game, i am starting him ahead of Cresswell and Williams.

I would keep and just leave him there, nailed on - some attacking threat. No reason to ditch, better upgrade elsewhere.

Should have said, I'm WCing in a couple of weeks so would be able to get him back as bench fodder.

If that is the case, than a transfer is ok. Would rather have 2 FT for Int break. I would save and play to be quite honest

I just so rarely feel like it's worth taking a -4 to remove a fully fit defender. However, this move is about as close as it comes to being a "yes". The other problem is that this appears to be a transfer which takes you further away from getting Aguero back in a couple of weeks...

It's not a hit, it's a FT, and I'm WCing for Aguero (and feeling quite smug about it) 😉

I think Huth needs to go. He dropped last night as well I'm afraid...

      Who are your other defenders?

      1. Doolittle

        Butland/Ruddy
        Bellerin/Dawson/VVD/Nyom

Ah, well I wouldn't bother then, unless he looks like dropping again.

I keep thinking he has a good chance of a CS and he's only managed one, so frustrating.

Morning Doolittle, I'd keep him and take the 2FTs into internationals which with Agueros pending return seems particularly pertinent. Who knows, is this the week Huth finally scores a header?

I really think its a waste to ship Huth out now. It would have been okish before the drop, now that you already lost value there is no reason not to keep him as your bench fodder with an odd game to start.

    Mata
    or
    Wijnaldum

Brought Wijnaldum in for these type of games, got me 25pt haul then blanked twice. Matas blanked 4 times now and is due to do something and everything of utds goes through him so ive heard.

Opinions? who would you play this week

      Wij. Mata is against WB.

I brought Wijnaldum in after his haul strictly for some ripe fixtures despite his playing for Newcastle. That said, I've now marked him as a flop and he will be on my bench this week.

Starting: KDB, San(c)hez, Mahrez, Payet....Lukaku - Vardy (vc) - Pelle

      Wijnaldum.
I am playing AOA just so that I can have him in for this one. If he does nothing this week then he might be out
