We carry out our club-by-club scan of the treatment rooms, on the day that West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet was ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton.

Elsewhere, Liverpool face an anxious wait for the full prognosis on Mamadou Sakho’s knee problem, whilst City are boosted by Sergio Aguero’s progress, as Wilfried Bony is left nursing his hamstring.

Arsenal

Santi Cazorla was replaced by Manuel Flamini at half time of the North London derby, in what initially looked like a tactical decision. Arsene Wenger revealed in his post-match press conference, however, that the Spanish playmaker was suffering from dizziness that affected his mobility:

“We suffered in the first half because Cazorla was at 30 per cent of his potential, he was dizzy. I was sitting there thinking do I take him off or not? You never know, maybe it will get better. At half-time I took him off, and in the second half we had a bit better balance. He is not sick, he was just dizzy and could not move, you could see that on the pitch. I did not really know what he had, so at half-time I took him off, I hope it is nothing bad, but it does not look like it, because he says he is alright now.”

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe confirmed that Marc Pugh – who was withdraw after 45 minutes last Gameweek – was unavailable for selection after failing to shake off a knock.

Chelsea

The Blues defender Kurt Zouma has withdrawn from duties for the France Under 21 side due to an unspecified injury earlier today.

Crystal Palace

Eagles fitness coach John Salako has issued an update on Dwight Gayle, who missed the weekend win over Liverpool due to a hamstring injury:

“Dwight works very hard and, unfortunately, I think he’s got a Grade Two tear – he’s had the scan. He could face three-to-four weeks on the sidelines now. He is young so we’ll see, it could be two weeks, it could be (up to) four.”

Everton

Tyias Browning picked up a minor knee injury in training during the week, ruling him out for England U21’s match-up against Bosnia on Thursday. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We had a warm-up game on Wednesday and he picked up an injury in his knee. It is nothing serious but we’ll have to speak with England and manage that situation. I don’t think he’ll be available for the next game, but he could be available for the game against Switzerland in Brighton.”

Fellow full-back Brendan Galloway is also being assessed ahead of England U21’s upcoming pair of matches. Earlier today, manager Gareth Southgate revealed:

“Brendan is being assessed now, he is with us. It’s a muscular injury but we don’t want to take any chances. Maybe he is okay for Thursday; maybe he is okay for Monday. We don’t know.”

Liverpool

The Merseysiders were rocked earlier this evening after scans confirmed that Mamadou Sakho is set for a period on the sidelines after limping off early during the weekend loss to Palace. Liverpool expect to discover the likely period of absence tomorrow, with the Frenchman set to see a specialist.

Jordon Ibe has withdrawn from England U21 duties against Bosnia and Switzerland with a knee injury, The youngster suffered no more than bruising, though, and is expected to be available for the Gameweek 13 trip to City.

James Milner sat out Sunday’s defeat having suffered a hamstring injury in their Europa League clash against Rubin Kazan. After the Anfield loss, Jurgen Klopp played down the severity of the injury:

“In Kazan, he had not the best moment with his muscle. But he’s an experienced player, and it was nothing serious and in this moment he can train.”

Manchester City

Wilfried Bony pulled up with a hamstring problem at Villa Park and had to be substituted at the 24-minute mark. Although Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t expect the Ivorian to play for his country during the international break, he did suggest that Bony could travel with the squad to get his injury assessed:

“It is difficult to know at this moment how serious his hamstring injury is. We will see tomorrow. I don’t know – maybe he will have to go and join up with Ivory Coast. His country must review the injury. But I don’t think he will be able to play and he will return to Manchester.”

In more positive developments for the Sky Blues, Pellegrini reported that a quartet of injured players are progressing well in their rehabilitation, with Sergio Aguero targeting a return next Gamweek against Liverpool:

“I hope that this week he [Aguero], (David) Silva, (Samir) Nasri and (Pablo) Zabaleta, will work with the physiotherapist and next Monday they will start working with the squad. We will see in the way he improves this week, but I think there is a chance he can be (back for Liverpool).”

Earlier today, Aguero took to twitter to confirm:

“Giving it my all on recovery work. There’s still more to go but getting better by the day!”

Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini missed Manchester United’s 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion and will not travel with Belgium ahead of their back-to-back friendlies, given that he sustained an injury in training.

Norwich City

Nathan Redmond was sidelined for the Canaries’ win over Swansea and has withdrawn from international duty with the England U21s, having injured his thigh in midweek.

Newcastle United

In the wake of the Magpies’ 1-0 road victory against Bournemouth, stand-in shot-stopper Rob Elliot revealed that he played against the advice of the club’s doctors. The former Charlton keeper is nursing a thigh injury but is confident that a fortnight of rest will hold him in good stead when Leicester City pay a visit next Gameweek.

“If you ask the manager, I was always playing. If you ask the doctor, then I probably wasn’t playing last week either. I was always going to play, and I didn’t know how good or bad it was going to be. It wasn’t too bad today, it was quite painful and I just had to get underneath the ball and lift it, you just don’t want to let the team down. I said to the manager, if you want me to play I will play, but just so long as I’m not going to hinder the team. I’m going to go and see the specialist and hopefully get some good news off him. Get some treatment, get some strength, get some rest. Hopefully I’ll be ready for Leicester and hopefully (we can) start showing the team that we can be, rather than the team we could be.”

Sunderland

John O’Shea is carrying a hamstring injury and will be assessed by Sunderland’s medical team to determine his availability for Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying play-off:

“Rob Elliot, John O’Shea, Paul McShane, Alan Judge, and Shane Long will all be assessed by their respective clubs before reporting for international duty.”

West Ham United

The Hammers have been dealt a major blow after Dimitri Payet was ruled out for around three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on Saturday. His replacement against the Toffees, Enner Valencia, was forced off with a similar complaint and will be assessed by a specialist early next week, the club’s official website has revealed.

Given that Ozil is rested for the Internationals, he's the logical choice to replace Payet right? That will mean a double up with Sanchez for me.

Think that template will be shattered in one or two GW's with Mané & Saints hitting a dry spell, KdB being a likely Agüero scapegoat & Mahrez have horrible fixtures soon.

gonna probably bring him in this week would rather have him on the bench for 2-3 weeks than him rise .3 and not being able to afford him without doing any major changes to the team

    Bottomed...

Did 2 early transfers drunk yesterday, which I am quite happy about but I fear injuries now...

    It leaves me with :

    Butland l Hennessey
    Kolarov l Bertrand l Moreno l Dawson l Souare
    KDB l Sanchez l Tadic l Marhez l Gosling
    Kane l Lukaku l Vardy

OFT / 4.2ITB to bring in Aguero when fit.

No hits needed if my players don's get injuries, right?

    Ozil. Sanchez. Kdb. Willian
    Aguero. Vardy. Lukaku

Problem with having expensive 5.5-6.5 fifht mid is that Vardy and/or Mahrez needs to go so every penny counts then.

Altough having good 5th mid allows to have flexibility.

Well yes of course he will, that doesn't mean they won't concede 3 goals though. One things for sure, they'll try damn hard to keep Arsenal out by doing what Pulis defences do best, putting serious numbers behind the ball. They are more than capable of keeping Arsenal out.

Maybe. My guess is he tried it vs all of the other teams he conceded 2 or more goals as well though, without success. Lot's of money to be made on Ozil. Fixtures good. Top 10k will be all over him.

They aren't 'that' solid; they've conceded 2 or 3 goals in every game they haven't kept a CS in so far.

After, Arsenal have nor (a), SUN (H), vil (a). A double up looks very viable for those fixtures.

Too many options up top. I want Vardy, Kane, Lukaku, Ighalo and Aguero when he is back.

Özil looks a great pick now. He is very rarely 'benched' or 'rested', making him a good investment over the Christmas period. Furthermore, he is reliable for solid, consistent points. Again, something which you look for in players over this tough schedule.

Hmm, not sure I'm with you there Ryan tbh, West Brom have practically turned over & said "slap me" when they've faced decent attacking teams. 3 goals conceded vs ManCity, 3 goals conceded vs Chelsea, 3 goals conceded vs Everton, 2 goals conceded vs Palace, 3 goals conceded vs Leicester, & 2 goals conceded vs ManUnited. The only CS they've kept vs a decent side was vs Saints. They're playing the most in-form attack in the league right now, there's only so much traffic Pulis' bus can hold back. When put under pressure, their bubble has proven to burst.

They've also conceded 12 goals in 6 in their home games, more of a Honda Civic at home imo.

This will be the popular opinion of course but I don't think we should always make such a conclusion. When Pulis was in charge of Stoke I seem to remember Arsenal always struggling to break them down.

Goal difference isn't an accurate indicator. It needs to purely be about their attack, not their defence as well.

From what I can tell Cech has made a big difference to their defence and I would expect any prediction would predict their defensive resolve to be better than past years.

I have written a community article for members on the Sánchez vs Özil topic, should be out very soon.

With regards to doubling up on Arsenal forwards I agree with others that Arsenal have been one of the most attacking sides this season so I don't think doubling up would be the worst idea ever. Besides the gunners face Norwich, Villa and Sunderland from between gameweeks 14-16.

Coming to the conversation late but it seems to me that Pulis tries to park the bus against absolutely everyone. The problem they face is that when they do concede (Che, Mci, Eve etc.) they don't have a clue how to then chase the game without leaving themselves exposed. I suspect that's why when they concede they end up conceding 2 or 3 every time.

Nope. He's gone! Lanzini may not be the wisest replacement though...

So Vardy won't get suspended for showing middle finger for Watford fans?

I read that he showed it to the officials, not the fans. Both are wrong, but one would probably be viewed far more seriously than the other.

    Myhill McCarthy

    Kolarov VVD Janmaat Nyom Francis

    KDB Sanchez Eriksen Ayew Mahrez

    Vardy Lukaku Pelle

May just save the darn FT this time around and go AOA. I have exact money for Ayew > King (bench fodder) and Pelle > Aguero week after with 2FT.

Then KDB could become Silva/Ozil. Thoughts on that plan?

    Myhill
    Kompany, Alderweireld, Williams, Jevans, 3.9
    KDB, Sanchez, Ozil, Mahrez, Drinkwater
    Lukaku, Pelle, Vardy

    3.2m iitb. 1 ft.

    Think of getting Bellerin?

(To get aguero im going to downgrade sanchez/KDB and up Pelle)

Getting Aguero in is 2 transfers so why not save?

I want to swap payet for a palace midfielder before the price drop but really don't want to be stung again on international duty, plus I already did bony for lukaku Sunday night!

Risk it now for cabaye (think he'll do better at home than bolaise as teams defend deeper)? Or wait and swallow a point 0.2 drop?

Does anyone know the international exposure of that palace midfield? Do France have any big games?

Even if France have games, Cabaye will not play, or not much. There is nothing to worry about too much imo

      Do it.

      No risk, no reward.
      No socks, no shoes.
      No hair, no haircut.

      You know what I'm saying...

Current team: 1 FT, 1.1 itb

    Butland (Schmeicel)
    Cedric Kolarov Rojo (Francis,Saylor*)
    Mahrez Sanchez Mane Yaya (Payet*)
    Pelle Vardy Kane

    Thoughts?

A- Pelle > Lukaku (c) and bench Payet for next gameweek
B- Pelle > Lukaku + Payet > Delle Alli (funds for Aguero) for -4
    C- others?

Would you sell Cech or Bellerin or even Alexis to get Ozil?

Cech maybe, depends who is going in nets

Butland or Myhill (best 2 under 4.8). I'd love to have de Gea, but then I can't get Ozil.

Id fancy Alexis and Ozil double up..

Arsenal face 3 of the leaiest defence in the next 4. Expect many goals
