Our next members article of the international break assesses the impact of Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool during his first four league matches in charge at Anfield. The former Borussia Dortmund boss had enjoyed a solid start to life on Merseyside, staying unbeaten in his first six matches in charge across all competitions, before suffering a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

Scoring goals had been as issue for Liverpool under previous manager Brendan Rodgers at the start of the season, with the Merseysiders managing just eight in as many league matches. That record has only slighted improved under the German, registering five goals in their last four matches, although they have faced fairly difficult opposition (tot, SOU, che) prior to their home loss at the hands of Palace.

With that in mind, we investigate the team data in the members section to try to establish Klopp’s impact over the first four league matches of his tenure on Merseyside.

Right...like when I captained his 5-goal haul. Still, I don't see him doing that again and even if he hattricks, I think you'd have a higher score if your team was all-around stronger. It's a tricky one...

      "Dick Bate"

Definition: A women (or man) whom you find irresistible (due to intoxication or otherwise) at a particular moment in time but know in advance it'll likely end with you struggling for life on a riverbank at the end of the night.

Anyone have stats on how many clean sheets/goals are scored after international breaks? Anecdotally, I remember a lot of goals being scored, but I'd like some hard and true facts. Last year Bolasie went CRAZY against Liverpool GW 13 and I'm thinking of captaining him and going all-out-attack

    1. Jazz!
      • 10 Years

Yes, you're right. Stats have proved there are less CS and more goals due to teams not being defensively stable straight away from an international break.

The one where Silva majestically plays Navas on and Navas makes an incomplete cross? 😉

Nah. Flukey free-kicks. Never was an fpl option in the past, don't think much has changed and Chelsea are still poor

How nailed is Rojo? I'm considering transferring him in this week instead of going DDG to get into ManU's defense, but I'd like to avoid adding a fairly expensive defender if there is rotation risk.

Cheers in advance for any insight you can provide.

He's nailed as long as he's performing well. Young shouldn't be much of a threat and Blind is seen as more of a CB right now and back-up to the back-up LB

Thanks, Demi. That's how I've felt for a while now, but a few on here have mentioned not being nailed so I figured I'd throw this out there.

A full premier league list of contracts expiring in the summer:

    https://footballfragmento.wordpress.com/2015/11/03/premier-league-players-out-of-contract-summer-2016/

Granted most on this list are fringe players and fringe for a reason, but there are a lot of players playing for their livelihood over the next 6 months 😮

I really don't get the Kane love but I understand he has good stats. Every time I have watched him he looks sluggish and a few of his goals have been pretty fortunate. At least 3 in my book. just my opinion mind you.

I am planning on having Aguero/Vardy/Lukaku as my front 3. Would struggle to replace any with Kane regardless of Vardys pictures. Would be more likely to drop Lukaku for him before Vardy.

      What does everyone else think?

I'm in the same boat. I'll be holding the same three as you unless Kane begins to outperform Lukaku by a notable amount. Then I'd have to downgrade a high-end defender to accommodate the move.

I agree. I plan to bring him in but when I watch him I think Mmm maybe not. I'd rather have Lukaku over Kane.
