634x258 Suspensions

Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is the most high profile of this week’s Suspension Tightrope protagonists after collecting a fifth yellow card of the campaign in yesterday’s home loss to Stoke.

The Italian will now miss next weekend’s trip to the Etihad and, although he will return in time for a plum home clash against Villa in Gameweek 15, it’s fair to say the exodus is picking up pace – over 120,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have already parted company as we scramble to bring in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

Pelle earned a late caution for kicking the ball away as his barren run continued – he’s scored just once in the last five Gameweeks. Post-match, Ronaldo Koeman was unhappy over the Italian’s lack of self-restraint:

“It’s all about the frustration of the player. He was not playing well, he was not scoring and the team was not winning, but you have to control yourself always. That’s difficult, we know. But, okay, if it doesn’t happen today maybe it happens next week. It’s always a question if you are one booking from a suspension. It’s always when, when, when it happens. Okay, normally you have to control yourself. He knows. We know. We have to accept it and we will play another [number] nine next week.”

Pelle is one of six players to succumb to a one-match Tightrope ban so far. Liverpool will be devoid of Lucas’ services for their home encounter against Swansea next weekend. Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey will also miss that Anfield encounter – handed the role in “the hole” at home to Bournemouth, the former Red bagged himself a goal and assist before earning his fifth yellow of the season.

Over at the Hawthorns, Tony Pulis has decisions to make at left-back after Chris Brunt picked up his fifth booking in the Baggies’ home win over Arsenal – the Northern Ireland international now misses next weekend’s trip to West Ham. Mark Noble will also be unavailable for that one after earning his fifth yellow in today’s loss at White Hart Lane, whilst Dele Alli will be absent as Spurs host Chelsea next weekend.

There are now 17 players on this week’s Tightrope, with Gameweek 13 handing us five new entries. Bournemouth playmaker Matt Ritchie, Leicester centre-half Robert Huth, Norwich’s Seb Bassong and Liverpool pair Emre Can and Nathaniel Clyne are the men in question.

Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye, along with Sunderland’s Billy Jones, could yet topple of this week’s Tightrope – all three go into tomorrow’s night’s match at Slehurst Park on four yellows apiece.

In terms of newly-available players, Tottenham will welcome back Erik Lamela for next week’s trip to Stamford Bridge after the Argentine served a one-match ban at home to West Ham earlier today. West Brom will have Gareth McAuley available for their clash with the Hammers after the Irishman missed yesterday’s win over Arsenal.

Slaven Bilic’s side, meanwhile, will be without the services of James Collins once again – the Welshman serves the last of a three-match ban against the Baggies.

    Provisional XI for next GW:

    Gomes (Myhill)
    Bellerin, Monreal, Moreno (Ward, Simpson)
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Mahrez, Ayew (Surman)
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

no FT left, so another week of Ayew, although this week was great

A few queries for you please gents:

    1) Sanchez > Ozil too sideways (4 blanks on the trot for Alexis now) Y/N
    2) Kompany play this weekend Y/N
    3) Kane / Aguero

      1) Not if it's for funding Aguero if you're dead set on him
      2) After their shocking performance against Pool? Pelle will play him on crutches if needed
      3) Kane on current data

      1) Depends what you would do with the extra
      2) If he is fit yes
      3) Preferably both, if you had to pick one I'd say Kane just and wait until Aguero gains fitness

Are you still here? I thought a red arrow would of stopped you posting your several hundred posts today. I know you like telling people how good and experienced you are and how you have mastered the team value tactic, but come on. Surely you realise how you look to others? We could talk about stats and how out of 9 seasons you've only had a decent score in 3 of them, kinda making you the Newcastle of the fpl world.

I think this GW has really shown the importance of Kane and Lukaku, and a lot of people are at a crossroads. Drop Vardy or Ighalo to get in one of the above or Kun?

I personally dropped Vardy for Kun on a WC which worked out okay this week, but Kane and Lukaku are both in ripping form, on penalties, playing in attacking teams with great fixtures.

So who do you guys have out of the two and are you looking to get them in (and who would you drop)?

I have Lukaku... Dropping the Donkey Pelle for Kun... at the expense of KdB or Sanchez (probably the former)

Will plan to have the front 3 of either Kane Kun and Lukaku/Vardy by boxing day! I think Kane is going to just keep rolling on (I previously wrote him off for his price tag... silly by me)

Going with Kane, Lukaku and Vardy for now, but am prepared to bring in Kun at any minute.

Status right now though is that all three strikers I've got are in great form, and Kun has no form at all and bad stats from this GW.

I wouldn't worry about Sanchez to Ozil. The points Alexis will get on his explosive weeks will be made up in regular assists by Ozil. Also factor in that you will be saving over 2m with Ozil means he is greater value for money.

My only concern would be Barkley, but then he more than made up for both hits this week

Kane destroyed an in form Chelsea last season and Everton Chelsea City and Leicester have all stuck 3 past Brom at home..

                Pulis and Mourinho guarantee nothing

They won't concede goals in those numbers on a regular basis. They are defensive managers. That is their reputation and it's what we should consider, 'the norm'

4 times in 7 home games would seem pretty regular to most..

they can be as defensive as they want the top teams and attacking players have got the better of them in all those games

like i said there are no guarantees in football least of all with Mourinho and Pulis right now
