Continuing our series of “Monitor” articles for Members, we turn our attention to Liverpool’s Dirk Kuyt. Following on from last week’s analysis of Jamie O’Hara and Matt Etherington, the idea is to analyse those proven Fantasy talents who have, for one reason or another, failed to produce the goods this time round and, looking at our own ICT Index and the Opta stats, determine whether an upturn may be just around the corner.

Following a stuttering start to the season, the last two weekends have seen Kuyt complete both games for Liverpool. A 2-0 derby win at Everton saw him replace Jordan Henderson on the wing in a 4-4-2, then, perhaps significantly, the return of Steven Gerrard against Man United afforded Kuyt a chance wide right up top, with Andy Carroll remaining on the bench for the entire match.

It remains to be seen just how much of a role he’ll have as the season unfolds but, given his 13 goals and 8 assists last time round, Kuyt can clearly produce, particularly if he gets the nod ahead of Carroll and is given a chance to produce alongside Suarez. Here’s how his season has fared so far:

      Suarez for me. Close call tho with RVP on pens and corners (although I don't see Stoke conceeding by way of a set piece to Arsenal)

    Please advise... Smalling out--> Luis Enrique?
    Young out --> VDV in?
    Agbonlahor or Rooney out --> Sturridge or Suarez?
    I've 2 transfers available and money spare so any two of the above is possible, just cant decide???

    Hi all,
    Got a free transfer this week and decided that it probably isn't worth it to do either Aguero or Rooney to RvP. So trying to sort out my MF instead. Currently have Arteta which I don't like. Ideally would like to upgrade him to VDV but can't find the funds, so do I:
    A) play Arteta and keep 2 free trannies for next week
    B) do Arteta -> Ramsey (free up cash & Ramsey playing further forward)
    C) take a punt on Modric/Bale/ another option under £8m?

    Kuyt is a great differential if he starts.
