Romelu Lukaku saves Everton’s blushes by firing a late leveler at Goodison – his eleventh goal of the season. Palace’s Scott Dann scores for the third time this term as his side grabs a point to hold steady in sixth spot.

Lukaku Scoring Spree Continues

Romelu Lukaku struck in the 81st minute to restore parity as Everton secured a 1-1 home draw against Crystal Palace. The Belgian frontman brought up his half-ton for the Toffees with a close-range strike and also hit the woodwork twice – he now boasts six goals in five outings, having last drawn a blank back in Gameweek 10. Over 47% of all Fantasy managers have recruited Lukaku to their three-man strike forces and that percentage only looks set to bloom ahead of the Merseysiders’ excellent run (nor, LEI, new, STO) through to the New Year.

In an irksome turn of events for Gerard Deulofeu’s 3% ownership, Garry Barry earned the assist for Lukaku’s goal after he got a slight touch on the Spaniard’s low cross. Although Everton amassed eight goals in their last three match-ups, Deulofeu scooped a solitary assist and mustered zero attempts. Conversely, Ross Barkley chalked up three goals, two assists, nine attempts and five shots inside the box, rendering him the most alluring alternative – or accompaniment – to Lukaku.

Dann Nets Again

Scott Dann nodded home with 14 minutes left on the clock to bag his second goal in as many road ties and third of the campaign. The Eagles’ aerial dominance is illustrated by the fact that their proportion of goals from set pieces (45%) is the highest in the league – encouraging investment in the 5.3-priced centre-back. Alan Pardew’s outfit aren’t renowned for their defensive resolve, yet only three sides conceded fewer goals (five) over the last six Gameweeks, which bodes well for their clean-sheet prospects during a decent winter schedule (SOU, sto, bou, SWA).

Jason Puncheon etched his name onto the scoreboard with his third assist of the season. The 5.7-priced midfielder was a viable differential in the past two terms but has failed to net through the first 15 Gameweeks, despite carding just four fewer attempts (28 compared to 32) and one fewer shot inside the box (13 to 14) than Yannick Bolasie. The latter looks the prime route into Palace’s attack at present, given that he tallied three goals and five more shots on target (seven to two) than Yohan Cabaye over the last four Gameweeks.

Eriksen is not the option he was last year with so many better/improved players floating around that midfield, he no longer needs to carry it by himself.

Kane, Lukaku and Giroud all look like better options than Agüero right now, you can always bring him back in if he starts taking more shots on target and playing regularly. Liverpool forwards too much of a rotation risk as well.

    Forgive my stupidity;
On the FPL statistic website- is the percentage at the far right the percent of the price increase to happen?

Still not sure how that site works exactly!

    Thanks!

And the 'Delta' tab? What does that mean?

      1. Theatre_Of_Screams
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

When the Target amount is near to 100, a price rise is imminent. The delta number is the amount of teams that need to transfer the said player in or out for the price rise or drop to happen.

        1. Theatre_Of_Screams
          • 11 Years
          10 years, 2 months ago

Bolasie is currently at 99.6 target with 105 delta, for example. Therefore, when 105 more people bring him in, his price will rise.

          Great thank you very much!
And what about price decreases? Are they just among the same list?

And the minus percentages just show how unlikely they are to rise?

when a player gets near to -100% then a price drop is imminent and the delta shows how many people need to transfer out to trigger the fall.

          2. Theatre_Of_Screams
            • 11 Years
            10 years, 2 months ago

Your welcome. If you click on "last" it will show the players that are soon to be dropping in value. It works the other way round so -100 is an imminent price drop.

Defoe is currently at -101.1 so he'll drop in value tonight.

Weird question, not sure if anyone will have done this analysis (or if there is anything in it). Seems a unlikely but I have a feeling there will be a pattern.

Are there historically less goals in early (12:45) Saturday kick offs than the rest of the weekends fixtures on average? Is there a kick off time that you won't pick your captain in?

Goal wise it's just psychology. Captaining the last played game lets you live in the hope of salvaging the gw for a lil bit longer

That's was my initial reaction. But I wouldn't be surprised if 12:45 kick offs historically provided less (or more) goals than 3pm games on average. Would be interesting to see.

Funny how we recommended Zouma along Toby and Moreno last week.
Zouma is totally off the recommendation list right?

Still no. I think they will get a few clean sheets still and were unlucky to concede the goal at that time against Bournemouth. It's the attack that is the problem.

I have fairly settled template front 7 with Drinkwater as bench fodder, and I think it's ok for next GW.

KDB (SWA) Ozil (avl) Barkley (nor) Mahrez (CHE) (Drinkwater)

Kane (NEW) Lukaku (nor) Vardy (CHE)

But, because my transfers were mostly for fwds and mids, my defense was left with this lot:

    Butland (Ruddy)

    Bellerin Moreno Janmaat Francis Richards

Beside Bellerin, Moreno and Butland, I'm not happy with the others. I'm not keen on buying De Gea, and benching Butland, also I don't want to pay 6.9 for Smaling, so I would much appreciate
some advice how to upgrade defense.

Ruddy to Myhill? That could leave me with many points benched. Also Foster should return at some point.

And why keeping Richards? Not that I disagree that Janmaat should go.

take a look at Villas next 10 fixtures....he's a nailed on starter and an attacking threat on set pieces, so a nice player to have for rotation purposes.

Cresswell with Song back, and both Lanzini and Payet out injured, is he not tempting? Seen him take the odd free kick

We got Cresswell for his supposedly attacking returns. They have not come, and most have gotten rid of a player that started the season on the same price tag as Kolarov

I feel Darmian is even more secure now if Schweinsteiger's 3 match ban gets upheld.

Blind will get drafted to CM most probably with Schneiderlin injured thus making a spot free for

Is it really worth getting Aguero in before Jan? City have 5 league games in 21 days over Xmas/New Year. No way he plays in all 5. He's a doubt for Saturday to start with. Plus the schedule doesn't favour someone who isn't match fit.

Kane has good fixtures each week City have a good one, and I don't think that not enough fit Aguero could make big hauls in next weeks.

So "template" front 3 are Kane, Lukaku, Vardy/Ighalo. Last two have some difficult fixtures, so we will have to wait and see if their form drops.

Giorud could be good pick, and maybe Sturridge.
