I think of late the top 10k average is lower than the mainstream, thus allowing me some greens, it seems that at certain points in the overall ranks there's a 'thicket' of decent players doing well this making it harder to climb.

I'd say B. I'm a big Silva fan, and I have him multiple times during the season - 4 times last year, already twice this season. I've come to the conclusion that KDB is just as good points-wise, but you don't need to constantly transfer him in and out. This, to me, is worth the 0.9 extra.
