Saturday’s Dugout Discussion schedule looks like bringing us a feast of action today with nigh on all of the big sides facing off against “kind” opposition. First up, we’re served the palette cleansing amuse-bouche of Newcastle vs Everton…

Newcastle line-up as predicted with Sylvain Marveaux given the chance to impress once more, with Gabriel Obertan sidelined. There are two changes for the visitors, as Royston Drenthe and Phil Neville come in for Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and the suspended Marouanne Fellaini. Teams in full are…

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S.Taylor, Coloccini (c), R.Taylor; Marveaux, Cabaye, Guthrie, Gutierrez; Ba, Best.

Everton XI: Howard; Hibbert, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines; Coleman, Neville, Rodwell, Drenthe; Osman; Saha.

A fair few high scores are expected today. Liverpool at home to Swansea. United facing Steve Bruce’s Sunderland. Chelsea away at Blackburn. Arsenal hosting West Brom. City closing out the day down at Loftus Road against QPR.

The only other remaining fixture of the day is Aston Villa vs Norwich and that too looks like it could join in the revelry. Cue nil-nils all round to defy expectations. Either way, the Dugout Discussion will be here through every kick of the ball.

Last time I let myself be swayed by the scout pick....why did I bring Evans in! All week I intended on bringing wilko in...then bleary eyed and worse for wear after a tipple or 10, at 03:14 am; I transferred in a player I have been critical of all season based on a glossy article.

To quote the Watchlist earlier this week...

"At just 4.5 in the FPL, he’s surely another gamble that most can afford to take."

That word "gamble" is the big one there.

We never put Evans forward as a long-term prospect, certainly not without also stressing he was a risk. Hands up, we felt he'd start today - that's a surprise - eight out of ten starts so far, clean sheet last week - I personally didn't see Rio retaining his start.

Yeah mate, totally agree. I'm a United fan and I despair when I see his name on the team sheet. The only game that he's ever impressed me was against Man City in the Community Shield. I'm hoping like yourself that Sturridge kills it today. I really like him and he's a steal at 6.7!

      Of course we do...

If a striker is playing only ok, but getting shed loads of points because he has a fantastic team feeding him chances, wouldn't you rather have him in your team than someone getting bugger all but playing fantastically?

Top team, cheap as chips, good run of fixtures, yes- a rotation risk, but with the previous three points, not a bad sub to have.

Yup, ab-so-lute-ly inscrutable, that move. 🙄

Not me....I have never gone for highest score total. Always form. This is the 1st of such mistakes made this season and believe me the last. I wanna build on my 855 overall standing 😉

Glad I picked Jones over Evans. Well worth the 1.5 extra!

Rio and Vidic is still Sir Alexs best centre back pairing

      +1 to the Jones comment
      Disagree with the second.

Smalling = not yet better. Not even better than the broken-down-Rio. Yet.

I saved Bos for another week and then bring in baines as i didn't fancy Everton against Newcastle, hope he doesn't come on as sub as the other player i was mixing with was Drenthe who's sat as first sub with an assist, bouns if Bos stays on the bench, still not sure if it's a good/bad idea having two everton players as first teamers come next week but there the two who most likely for points imo and they have some nice looking fixtures ahead.

    Bosingwa has finally been dropped!!

Great week to have brought Jones (and not Evans) in for him.

Counting on a 5 minute cameo for Bosingwa, it would be better than the last 2 weeks anyway.
