The EA Sports PPI scores are now published and the Fantasy Premier League game bonus have been awarded, here’s how they map out for Gameweek Eleven. As far as we know, the goals, assists and bonus points have now been fully revised and the current points will now stand…

Arsenal 3 West Brom 0

Vermaelen 3, Van Persie & Arteta 2

With Gervinho judged to have got a touch on Robin Van Persie cross, the Arsenal skipper lost his initial assist for the Thomas Vermaelen’s goal and dropped to 32 PPI points as a result. He lost out on the maximum to the Belgian defender by just a single PPI point with Vermaelen recording 33 in the PPI. Mikel Arteta also recorded a PPI of 32 so he has now been promoted in the bonus reckoning, sharing the two bonus points with Van Persie. Alex Song and Theo Walcott were just outside the bonus reckoning.

Aston Villa 3 Norwich 2
Agbonlahor 3, Bent 2, Pilkington 1

The cast in our prediction were correct, but it was Gabby Agbonlahor who gained top billing by just a single EA PPI point from team-mate Darren Bent – it could not have been closer. Antony Pilkington came in for the single as predicted, courtesy of his fourth goal of the season. On 32 PPI points, Pilkington was a fully 20 behind both Bent and Agbonlahor. Pilkington nonetheless got the bonus, holding off team-mate Steve Morison by just 3 PPI points.

Blackburn 0 Chelsea 1

Lampard 3, Ivanovic 2, Cech 1

Our prediction in last night’s members article was spot on here. Frank Lampard gathered the bonus with a PPI score of 44, a full 19 points ahead of team-mate Branislav Ivanovic who, courtesy of his assist and some decent defensive stats, earned bonus on his return to the right-back berth. Petr Cech’s saves helped him secure just a second clean sheet of the season to help gather a PPI of 23, enough to see off Ashley Cole for the single bonus point.

Liverpool 0 Swansea 0

Dyer 3, Vorm 2, Johnson 1

Hands up, we got this one wrong in last night’s prediction. Despite Nathan Dyer’s ICT stats putting him second overall in this match behind Luis Suarez (who was never going to score well in PPI terms), we chose to ignore his claim for bonus and beef up the defensive players. Dyer did however prevail here, no doubt helped by an impressive set of all-round statistics that included tackles and efforts on goal. His 20 PPI points was the lowest total to earn 3 bonus this week but nonetheless proved enough, as Michel Vorm (17) and Liverpool’s Glen Johnson (15) came in next to also fetch bonus points.

Manchester United 1 Sunderland 0

Evra 3, Rooney 2, Vidic & Nani 1

Despite Patrice Evra coming out on top amongst our ICT ratings in the United defence, we opted to go with both Vidic and Ferdinand for the bonus in last night’s prediction, believing that their extra clearances would see them ahead in the PPI stakes. Evra’s all-round contribution, that included some decent attacking statistics, proved enough for him to record a PPI of 30 however, seeing off Wayne Rooney (26) and Vidic (19). Nani also totalled 19 PPI points to share the single bonus point with Vidic – we’ve had it confirmed that Nani is holding on to his assist for the winning goal – Danny Welbeck did not get a touch on his cross before Wes Brown nodded into his own net.

Newcastle 2 Everton 1

R Taylor 3, Rodwell 2, Simpson & Ba 1

Ryan Taylor gathered the maximum having scored what turned out to be the winning goal, converting his own long-throw via a Demba Ba flick, with an effort that dipped over Tim Howard. Ba shared a single bonus point having gained the assist for Taylor’s goal – his flick was cleared by an Everton defender within the penalty box, therefore, as the last attacker with a touch, Ba earned the assist. Danny Simpson, who provided the assist for the John Heitinga own goal, also fetched bonus here. Both Simpson and Ba recorded 21 EA PPI’s points, with Everton’s Jack Rodwell topping that on 25 courtesy of his consolation that offered Everton hope just before half-time, to earn the two bonus here.

QPR 2 Man City 3

Dzeko 3, Toure 2, Silva 1

Edin Dzeko came out on top as predicted with another powerful attacking display in City’s win at Loftus Road. The Bosnian just nudged out team-mate Yaya Toure by just a single PPI point, while David Silva’s goal helped him to a PPI haul of 29 – enough to see him earn a single bonus point. Jay Bothroyd was QPR’s top PPI performer on the day but was someway behind a host of City contenders as the victory heavily influenced the PPI outcome.

Wolves 3 Wigan 1

O’Hara 3, Ward 2, Edwards 1

Last night’s Members article correctly predicted the names amongst today’s bonus but it was Stephen Ward who sneaked in front of David Edwards to earn the two bonus points. Ward’s return of 30 PPI points was enough to see off Edwards who recorded 27, while Jamie O’Hara was a clear front runner here, amassing no less than 55 PPI points with a goal and two assists to his name. Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt also put in impressive PPI scores, with Ben Watson Wigan’s best performer on the day.

Bolton 5 Stoke City 0

Klasnic 3, Ealges, Wheater 1

Ivan Klasnic returned to the Bolton lineup and recorded the top overall PPI score of the gameweek with a haul of 68. That was more than enough to see him hold off team-mate Chris Eagles for the maximum bonus points. We predicted that David Wheater would sneak in for a single bonus, courtesy of some decent defensive stats and his assist, and so it proved. Wheater held off the claims of Kevin Davies and Paul Robinson who also fetched storng PPI returns from the Reebok rout.

Fulham 1 Tottenham 3

Bale 3, Lennon 2, Adebayor 1

Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon provided the major attacking threat for Spurs and subsequently dominated the PPI scores in this match. Bale edged out his team-mate by just a single PPI point to fetch the maximum on offer, while Emmanuel Adebayor did enough to pick up the single point, surprisingly surpassing the PPI total of Brad Friedel, who kept Fulham at bay with a string of saves. Friedel recorded a PPI score of 20 with Adebayor amassing 26 to claim the single bonus.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have watched my score shrink from 72 to 64, while the managers of FPL are faffing about. It is so hard for a poor player like myself, without this extra pressure.

Seriously wondering whether to pack it all in ...

It really is an absolute joke. It's easy to get annoyed if it's loses you points as opposed to gaining them, but still.... i swear i'd have like 30 more points if the rules and BPs were the same as last year. Instead i've got people with Obi Mikel, Tiote and people doubling up on defenders absolutely rinsing me.

How is it wrong to set up a system and then follow it? giving Van Persie 3 baps without him getting the top PPI would be an utter disgrace.

The mistake was giving it, not taking it off.

thats thge point, they set up a system and then didn't stick to it, by taking the points off after their own deadline for point allocation. Also its not beyond all reasonable doubt that Gervinho actually touched that ball- its dubious all ways, so stick with original decisions and within original rules. Going top a disgrace? Lol...he made that goal, the other one, and scored one.

It's beyond a joke, an absolute farce. Why can't they run things properly? I suppose this is what we should expect having a bank as the sponsors of the game. I suppose they've transferred all the lost points to the directors of the game as a 'bonus'. ðŸ™

          Already done:

          Dear Sir/Madam/Ms,

I am expressing my disgust that you have broken your self imposed deadlines:

"All assists are reviewed before the points are updated at the end of each day."

Not only did I see my comfortable total before you removed the assist, TWO DAYS AFTER THE EVENT, but, to add insult to injury, I am now forced to stare at the two disparate totals for an hour.

After the very many disasters the site has suffered this season, I feel you have to ask the question:

Piss up, Brewery - can you?

          Frustrated & Annoyed,

not really a debacle though. he had an assist and he lost, PPI had to change accordingly. at least it means they properly reviewed it, rather than just going by what the press association first gives it as.
admittedly publishing the bonus just before taking away his assist was the wrong order to do things.

Can you please tell me why Robin Van Persie's assist has been removed? I am expressing my disappointment that you have broken your self imposed deadlines: “All assists are reviewed before the points are updated at the end of each day.” It has been two days after the event! Very unhappy.

    Hi there

    Thanks for your correspondence.

    From the rules:

'Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored.'

Gervinho made the last touch so has now been given the assist instead of Van Persie.

    Regards

Thank you for your reply. In future please update sooner to avoid disappointment! Thanks

The thing that's annoyed me about it is it's clear RVP knocks the ball back, obviously, but it's not, whatsoever, that Gervinho gets a touch. So taking three, now four, points off RVP because Gervinho may have touched it. Bastard game.

Both Milner and RVP's assists were discounted after they were displayed on your site
How about i pay you a $10,000 bonus each. But then withdraw it from your bank account.

Goddamm, that Van Persie deduction is a kick in the balls. All weekend the guy who was running away with my Head2Head looked like he was going to lose only his second fixture, but the bonus point wallahs have gifted him a draw. Shenanigans I say. Shenanigans.

    RVP(C) Suarez Rooney

That was my team for this week and I got a decent points haul considering I was excepting less. Otherwise am getting frustrated by both Rooney and Suarez.I can understand Rooney's lack of goals because of midfield deployment but Suarez drives me nuts with his inconsistency.
Any suggestions on improvements is most welcome. I am eyeing a bargain striker so that I can shift funds to my cheapo midfield. I have 1 freebie and 1.0 in the bank.

The DGW, I know we don't know when it is yet but as some had said it may well be GW14? That is now under a month away so is it looking less likely that that is when it will take place? How long do they need to leave before announcing a fixture and selling tickets.

Double GameWeek; Spurs' opening fixture vs. Everton at the Lane was cancelled due to the riots so they'll play it mid-season.

i.e. make sure you have a bunch of Spurs players in your squad for that week (unless you fancy Everton for some reason) as they'll get points from two matches.

Just a few thoughts on this morning's events.

The review of the goals takes place at the Press Association - they review them with the rules of the game in mind and deemed that Gervinho got the touch and therefore RVP lost the assist. RVP's PPI then had to change, since an assist obviously contributes to this. With the PPI change, he dropped below Vermaelen and therefore lost bonus.

On another matter, the Ba assist isn't in question because he was the last attacker to touch the ball before it was cleared by a defender in the penalty area. According to the assist definition, that's an assist.

Regarding Nani, it's a simple case of PA reviewing the goal and not seeing a touch from Welbeck - therefore the Nani assist stands.

Now whether you agree with the whole assist definition - that's a different matter. We're certainly reporting our thoughts on it and I think you can probably hazard a guess on the gist of these. At first this looked as though it would make decisions less contentious - as the season has progressed however, we've had several key examples of the definition having the opposite effect.

I can't see rules and definitions changing half way through this season though. Having said that, I do think that the FPL need to change the ruling that states that assists are reviewed on the same day that points are updated. This isn't clear and isn't helping matters.

The trick is, the assists are initially awarded via the Press Association data. If PA award an assist, it gets added to the game after an initial review. That was the case with RVP and Nani.

What happens then, is that the contentious assists get a further con review and the PA data changed if need be.

It takes time for goals and assists to be reviewed, therefore points allocated orginally will change.

The issue here (aside from the assist definition which is a different argument) is the time it takes to review them and the lack of clarity in the current rules regarding assist reviews.

But Mark, the rules ARE NOT unclear. They are very straightforward - assists are reviewed by the end of the day. The rules are clear and they got them wrong. It has nothing to do with ambiguity.

Yes, but they were reviewed AGAIN, so going by the wording, their rules weren't broken.

They should though say in the rules that no decision is final up until a certain point.

Mark just highlighted this. your aggrieved because after a review it was changed. therefore taking away points you should not have had. id rather they handed out the assisst straight away and take an odd one away after(as long as it is jiustifiable which in this case it was) otherwise as someone else pointed put we would be waiting until monday night tuesday morning for EVERYTHING to update. god forbid the moaning done on here if that happened.

Ok, so FPL can just say it was the Press Associations original mistake which has caused the upset. In that case I think the FPL should review all PA data before committing players points for assists/goals etc, as it's pretty clear now that the PA can get it wrong.
Definitely agree about this absurd length of time for reviews, and the ambiguous wording of the rules.

My opinion on the two assists; RVP and Nani should both have kept.

Both players were the last players on their teams to definitely touch the ball. I honestly don't think you could say Gervinho definitely touched the ball, I watched the replay over and over yesterday and just couldn't be sure who touched it. I don't think Gervinho should be given an assist because he may have touched it.

Likewise Welbeck. I don't think he touched it, but I couldn't say he definitely did or didn't, therefore Nani should keep the assist, and so by the same principle RVP should've too.

Ok..but Opta did not give RVP an assist for the Vermaelen goal. They gave it to Gervinho.

Opta examine the footage to a very very high degree - I've been there and seen them do it - they are thorough and have tools to examine such issues - it's why I chose Opta data for our site.

Opta feed a number of Fantasy games and all those games will not have the assist awarded to RVP - Gervinho has it.

Similarly, Opta gave Nani the assist for Uhited's goal.

In both cases then, I would say PA are correct in changing the assists this morning on the basis that Opta rarely get it wrong on these things.

Where does it say "All end-of-the-day reviews are final and cannot be changed"?

              Is it... nowhere?

They review them before updating the points, but if they then find out that they've made a mistake, they can still change them. There's nothing to contradict that and it's surely better for assists to be awarded accurately than to let a mistake stand because it's the end of the day.

Only just scrapped above average for this week and first red arrow in 7GWs so not great. But i'm still handily placed and have 2 freebies for after the internationals so things aren't too bad.

This is absolute nonsense.. taking away R.V.P's assist and his bonus, this has wiped out 8 points from my score and sent me spiralling down the rankings. Considering I took a hit of 8 points to get Modric and Kompany out for Bale and P.Jones, this is a bitter pill to swallow!

Oh.. and what is next??? Wiping out Bale's goal and saying it was an own goal. My gripe with all this is including R.V.P non-assist is why don't you review all contentious decisions before updating the scores as clearly stated in your rules. This is an absolute farce!

RvP assist, you might have a cause to complain.

the changes to your squad are your own doing really (plus Bale and Jones did you proud).

Another thing is that RVP captainers represent an enourmous proportion of live players who are trying to do well at this game and they're just being kicked in the teeth!

    It never touched Gervinho!

The RVP captaining thing is a bit of a presumption, but it's only in the last couple of weeks that his ownership has significantly rised. Several weeks ago, I think Lampard had a higher ownership. Therefore, the live players are buying RVP as opposed to him rotting in ''coma'' teams.

I've just tweeted RVP to get him to ask Gernvinho if he touched it....

Would be funny if he replied and said no!

      There are 2 issues:
1 - did Gervinho touch it?
2 - why did they update bonus before sorting out assists!

No Sun fan but I'd say very. No other CBs apart from O'Shea who isn't really one.

Brown and Turner are great options. Turner also has the goal threat at the right end.

I'm going to commit ritual seppuku at the shame of dropping 2 places in my mini league and losing my H2H.

I see no other alternative; this is quite simply the biggest outrage in FPL history and will be remembered for years to come, spoken of in hushed whispers by ageing veterans of the game turned stunted and withered as a result of the evil, sickening 4 point theft of November 7th, 2011.

You FFS boys must be feeling quite chuffed with yourselves – knowing that it’s probably because of you and being “fair”, that all these RVP points have been wiped out.

Just waiting for Nani’s one to be chalked off now and that’ll be that.

How about you just let it be next time yeah?

    Nice one.
