The current break from league action has afforded us time behind the scenes to update the Live Hall of Fame standings, taking into consideration the performances so far in the 2015/16 campaign. The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone who takes part in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Basically, this tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating†accordingly – it’s viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Live Hall of Fame Top 10

Ville Ronka remains at the summit of our refresh after climbing into 16,134th spot in Gameweek 26, courtesy of a 59-point haul. Yet to take a single points hit this season, Ville looks well-placed to continue the outstanding form that has earned him a spot in the top 5,000 in each of the last seven seasons – despite holding Liverpool pair Roberto Firmino and Alberto Moreno, along with suspended Leicester full-back Danny Simpson, he has 11 players with a Gameweek 27 fixture this weekend. Ville has his second wildcard still intact and is holding his Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips, having wielded his All Out Attack chip in Gameweek 12.

David Meechan moves up from 23rd into second spot in our Live leaderboard. David – who boasts six top 10,000 finishes in the last eight seasons – is currently sitting in 6,755th in the FPL standings – his second-highest position of the season – on the back of a 71-point haul in Gameweek 26. So far, he’s played just one – All Out Attack – of his three chips.

Jay Egersdorff takes third spot after moving into 65,902nd position in Gameweek 26. Jay’s consistency has been key to his lofty Hall of Fame rating – he’s finished inside the top 10,000 in eight of the last nine seasons. He’s not averse to spending points on transfers, though, and has taken a four-point hit in five of the opening 26 rounds of fixtures.

Marlen Rattiner is next up. He currently sits around the 35,000-mark and has finished inside the top 3,000 in four of the last five years, including top-200 spots in the past two seasons. So far, Marlen has taken 44 points’ worth of hits this term, showing that risk-taking can pay off hamdsomely.

Peter Martino takes fifth position on the back of a solid 55 points in Gameweek 26. That places him in 2,657th overall and he looks well on course for a fourth finish in the top 2,500 in six Premier League seasons.

Peter Kouwenberg jumps from 60th position up to sixth. Having earned 54 points last time out, he’s now sitting in 4,861th overall and also seems set to continue his fine run of Fantasy form – Peter has finished inside the top 5,000 in three of the last five seasons.

Steve Poulson makes his way into seventh spot in our refresh. With 66 points on the board in Gameweek 26, he’s moved into 1,976th spot overall – his highest placing of the current campaign. Steve – who finished in 121st spot in 2014/15 – has taken points hits in five rounds of fixtures so far.

Simon Walsh takes eighth spot in our Hall of Fame, despite failing down the rankings in each of the last three Gameweeks. Simon still sits just outside the top 100,000 in FPL this term and has taken hits on just two occasions – one of those, back in Gameweek 12, was a 12-point deficit. Impressively, Simon has finished inside the top 1,000 in three of his four seasons as a Fantasy manager – last year’s 95th place was the second time he’s clinched a spot in the top 100.

Up into ninth spot is Matthew Jones– aka Numb. After earning a fourth green arrow in five, he currently sits in 57,426th position in the overall standings and is on for yet another strong finish to the season – he’s ended inside the top 2,000 in four of the last five years.

Utkarsh Dalmia completes our new top 10 after climbing from 25th at the end of last season. After bagging 53 points in the previous Gameweek, he now sits in 42,377th overall as he looks to bag a sixth straight top-8,000 finish. Utkarsh’s best season was in 2010/11, where he finished 17th overall.

Further down, Nick – aka Triggerlips – and site moderator Evs are placed 21st and 22nd respectively.
Elshewhere, site regular Jon Sumner – aka Jinswick – takes 25th spot after finishing second last season. Current FPL champion Simon March is just ahead of our very own Mark, with the pair sitting at
36th and 37th spots in our new update.

Analysing the Top Ten

Delving further into the top ten Hall of Fame teams, Jack Butland and Alex McCarthy are the preferred stoppers with seven and five votes respectively. This backs up the theory that our top managers are against keeper rotation, given that the latter hasn’t featured since Gameweek 6 and has dropped to 3.8 in price. In terms of starting price, there’s only one keeper – United’s David de Gea – who kicked off the campaign with a cost in excess of 5.0, again highlighting the reluctance to spend big between the sticks.

In defence, Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is the most popular player – selected by seven of our featured managers, the Spaniard looks set for an exodus, given he has two blanks in four, though. Toby Alderweireld – the most popular FPL backline option with over 40% ownership – sits in six of our top 10 teams, whilst Leicester’s cut-price Danny Simpson earns his place in half of our squads, with Joel Ward and Virgil van Dijk next in line with four.

The midfield is mainly dominated by a quartet of players. Riyad Mahrez is one of only three players to be selected by all 10, with Dimitri Payet, Mesut Ozil and Dele Alli next in line with nine votes apiece. Roberto Firmino’s recent rise to form sees him sit on five teams, with the fit-again Alexis Sanchez (four) finding his way back into our managers’ plans. Aside from those players, it’s fair to say the template has been strong here – only four other midfielders, Ross Barkley, Junior Stanislas, Ashley Westwood and Dan Gosling – find a place in our 10 managers’ squads.

Up top, it’s 10 votes each for Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero. The duo’s exit from the FA Cup yesterday ensures they both have a Gameweek 30 fixture, whilst Jamie Vardy is the next most popular pick – six of our top 10 already had the Foxes frontman in place prior to Gameweek 26.

In accordance with the top 10 squads, then, the template amongst our most successful Fantasy managers is as follows:

Goalkeepers – Butland, McCarthy
Defenders – Moreno, Alderweireld, Simpson, Bellerin (Van Dijk/Ward)
Midfielders – Mahrez, Payet, Alli, Ozil, Firmino
Forwards – Aguero, Kane, Vardy

Hall of Fame FAQ

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating†is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 70% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2014/15 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2007/08. The “HoF Ranking†even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues next season, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code will available on the dashboard of the Members Area once the FPL game re-opens for registration.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings. The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data.

      @JapanBoy,

I'm not 100% sure about that. There must be some luck involved, however I know I have seen Andy Carroll midweek in Newcastle ordering 40 Jaeger Bombs for him and his mates. Not sure if things like that and injury records are a coincidence... But that's just my cynical mind.

Michael Owen was far more professional than Andy Carroll ever will be. His injury before joining Liverpool was because he was drunk and fell down his stairs. Think that's a very harsh comparison

Alli now in the 90%'s and dangerzone for a rise tonight. Therefore:

      A) Stanislas -> Alli [Free] today? [Can't afford the extra 0.1m]

good solid experienced players in that team.

think rooney has been a problem. not the player he was and lost pace, explosiveness. way too predictable.

should play mata as number 10 and drop rooney back imo, with martial up front and two wingers.

'looks' being the key word. Spurs play better as a team and have quality players in Alli, Kane, Eriksen, Dembele etc. Man U have Martial and a Mata playing out of sorts. The rest are garbage and they need a complete overhaul. IMO 🙂

I was playing around with Man U to score next goal. But odds aren't tasty enough. Better to just bet on time of 3rd goal before 80 mins in that case.
