    to all those smug ozil over sanchez owners , the assists are fair enough but two goals in the last four is a joke. He shots like once a match.           Doesn't matter if his shots numbers are low. He's on most set pieces, chance creation stats are good and good for baps. He can tick over the points in a 'Silva' type way.

            A huge chunk of FPL is luck yes, that's why no one player is going to be able to win the whole thing more than once in their life.

          But at the end of the season luck mostly balances out. Week to week though there is a large variance away from the points that you should get.

            Luck will balance out for some players and it won't for others. Player A may have a bad part of the season and then return to form and finish in top 10k, player B could be in the top 10k for most the season then finish 100k.

            Luck is random by definition, so everyone will have different outcomes.

              It's not an exact science. If Sanchez is more threatening than Ozil (not saying he is) then over time Sanchez should score more points. That's the point I'm trying to make.

          you're describing standard FPL. There are huge amounts of luck involved as you have no direct involvement in the outcome, you choose what you think will work and then it's completely out of your hands and you're lucky if it works, unlucky if it doesn't.

        In the 5 games of gameweek 20 to gameweek 24, Ozil scores 9 points. It wasn't a terrible idea to swap to Sanchez due to Sanchez's form last season.
