Just realised I stuffed up my bench w#nkery and put mahrez on the bench who plays on Monday anyway.

Kind of sums up how badly I am playing this year.

Honestly, I never have before, and I actually think it is silly. But I had a few weeks where I had a green arrow on Saturday turn into a red arrow on Sunday or Monday. So I decided to stack the deck this week so that lots of points would come in on Monday. Not trying to mess with anyone, just manipulating my GW experience. 😉

It's playing players without a fixture or who are ruled out through injured intentionally . Since they are guaranteed not to play you will get the players off your bench on Monday and if those players do well you will get a boost in the rankings rather than a red arrow

Because neither team will have any more postponed and it could make a great midweek tv match.

Also because they want teams to do as well as possible in europe, this helps city progress that little bit easier.

I expect both City and Newcastle would prefer the double in wk37

For City it would mean less fixture congestion until the Champins League SF were over.

For Newcastle it means there is more chance that City have nothing to play for

What 3 Liverpool and 3 Everton are people fully exploring the doubles considering

    Lukaku and firmino essential surely?

Otherwise defender from each and the likes of Barkley, Sturridge *shudder*, and coutinho.

Or all in on attack especially given Everton defence?

    1. tm370

I think Sturridge would be madness. Firm, Lukaku and Barkley are the obvious ones. I'd then consider Coutinho and Milner, and perhaps Lennon although I think Deulofeu will come back into things a little ahead of the FA Cup. I dont trust the Everton defence, but think Clyne could be a decent shout for Liverpool

      1. Postman Ty
        • 11 Years

I don't trust evertons defence at all either, but Coleman has (had, last few seasons) some serious goal threat and could be worth the doubles. Liverpools defence is almost equally as useless at securing clean sheets. If I could be granted any fantasy epl wish it would be for Sturridge's fitness, but we all know that's never happening. Firmino and Lukaku have to be in there. Barkley probably next. Coutinho is, meh. And after that it's just a lottery.

      On my longlist:

Everton: Robles, Coleman, Funes Mori, Barkley, Deulofeu, Mirallas, Lukaku, Kone (if anything happens to Luka God forbid)

Liverpool: Migs, Sakho, Moreno, Firmino, Coutinho, Hendo, Lallana, Milner, Studger

I won't do any pruning on this for a while yet but I do already own Moreno and Firmino.

Grey arrow. Hoping Mahrez comes through with a brace. 😀

Not sure that bringing Silva was the right move... Will have to assess him this week.

Also, would you ship Ivanovic out for someone?

I think I'm saving this week regardless. Awaiting DGW news to decide when I'll wildcard (33 or 36).

I wouldn't mind bringing in Firmino for Silva - but I'll wait and see.

He may not play 180, but I think he should play both games. Needs to build up fitness and get up to speeed for CL quarters.

Firminio is a safest option before knowing how dgw's will work out. Silva could been double 34 too. Short punt ok I suppose if WC in next few weeks.

I still hope to WC in 36, for a 37BB. But City/Newcatsle fixture will dictate my decision.

Maybe you've planned well. I am so short of ARS LIV and EVE players for 34 that I have to consider WC in 32 or 33. Leaning towards 32 WC.

Do we think Everton have a blank in 35 given they won? Or too many fixtures to rearrange so they play in 35?

The chances are at least one of these DGW's will be a damp squib. We will need to maximize opportunities on both I guess but I bet there are a load of wasted hits on at least one of them. The first one looks prety tasty imo. The single gameweek teams do not look to have such favourable fixtures

Good point about the single team fixtures being difficult. I also noticed nearly all the possible dgw team have fairly difficult fixture in lead up to 34 which makes bringing them in gradually for hits quite difficult.

I agree. Without a hit I could get 8 DGW players for 34 I would probably do a hit so I guess I need to weigh up whether 8 DGW in 34 (who may not be the ones I would select from a WC) is enough followed by 15 DGW and a bench boost in 37.

Or do it the other way around. I am starting to think maximize 34 may be the best way. I guess it will come down to triple captain optiions

As another point of reference, look at the GW36 fixtures for teams you may want in DGW37...

        Everton: bou
        Arsenal: NOR
        Liverpool: swa
        West Ham: wba
        United: LEI

Thanks for the info guys. Without WC and with TC and BB in place I think I have no option but to go for 15 in 34 gives me more time to get players in.

I will hold until at least later in the week but what are yer 1st impressions on this lot moving forward considering probable fixtures.
Anything I need to be focusing on?

    Schmeichel, Butland
    Toby, Komp, Williams, Fran, Fonte
    Eriksen, Siggy, Mahrez, Payet, Stan
    Aguero, Vardy, Kane

    1ft, 4.2m in bank..

1st impression nice team for this week. Really looks like WC required before first dgw. So concentrate on short term punts between now and then. That much in the bank gives you a lot of options. Nothing stands out as an option now. Upgrade of Stan probably just leads to bench headache

Thanks a lot. That is exactly the kind of info I need.

An early GW 33 WC is fine by me. I brought Siggy in expecting to make an early WC anyway.
Reading here earlier tho that some were saying a later WC may be more effective overall considering potential DGW's.

Anyway- Think with pure short term punts and a decent WC selection I will be on the right track.

I have no WC left and am forced to build, old school stylee, for the DGW's. My question to you fine folks is, where to bloody start?

    Forster
    Ivan, Bellerin, Kompany
    Siggy, Silva, Mahrez, Alli
    Kun, Vardy, Kane

    Henn, Simpson, Williams, Barkley

Thinking Firmino somehow, or Migs? Cheers all

Well it depends how many transfers you have just now and how much money you have. I would try to sit tight save a transfer if possible and act once we have dates. But yes Firmino seems like a good selection

Yea agreed. I have 2 FT for this week so will have to do something I guess. Only 0.1 ITB.

Still we will know more before next gameweek so no rush and act on info.

OK well firstly I would look at my players who are due DGW's i wouldn't touch them and I would see who is left.

You have 3 defs with DGW's and a keeper so nothing there and Barkley, Silva and Aguero are due DGW's at some point. So leave them be.

You cannot do a straight swap for Firmino with your money for any of those remaining players. So maybe you want to consider reducing the value of one of your other asets to free up cash to acheive your other goals? Antonio seems a standout cheap option with a DGW to me

I have no WC either. I think sit for now. Really need info on fixtures don't want to take hits on assumptions or expected. For an FT Firmino is the standout option.
