ICC World T20 Fantasy – Phase 3

The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

    Here is my transfer plan for phase 3. I allows me to field 5 players per game on average. There could be a mistake somewhere, do let me know if you spot one.

    What do you think of it? It does mean sometimes having to chose players from less fancied sides.

    NZ vs PAK (20 transfers, 7 players)
    4 PAK, 3 NZ
    4 ENG

    ENG vs AFG (20 transfers, 4 players)
    4 ENG
    4 PAK, 3 NZ

    IND vs BAN (16 transfers, 4 players)

      This is Brilliant. But I don't really want to get 4 SL players. Except Herath and maybe one of Dilshan/Chandimal they are not quite the Fantasy prospect and they face West Indies and South Africa which will be really tough.

          Yes, I think going for 3 SL and using 1 on the IND vs AUS should be effective and we have 4.9 players.

      Didn't spot any mistakes. Looks good though I'm sure not many will want to stick to it. It's a very good guide to have though to use as a starting base

      I would love to have 2 Afghans against England(Nabi and Shehzad)....but I don't think I would want 2 Bangladeshis against India....so I get around 4.6 players per match

            In the runs and the strike bowler. If he was playing for Aussie, it would have been 100k though. But he is the main guy for Bangladesh. So 120k seems okay.

      One more flaw is SA vs WI, only 1 SA. AB is essential, then you'd want an inform QdK and Tahir on a spinning Nagpur track.

      4 SL is too much i guess.You should load up on Eng players against SL and get 2-3 more SA for their game against WI
