There’s plenty for us to ponder this Monday evening as we assess the lessons learned over the weekend’s ten fixtures. Riyad Mahrez and Harry Kane have the form to punish any potential sellers with one eye on the double Gameweeks, City’s malaise shows no signs of ending, Everton’s lack of consistency is a real concern, whilst Arsenal’s young wide man may have played his way into wildcard consideration.

Selling Mahrez could prove costly….
It’s 16 goals and 11 assists for the season now for Leicester’s wide man after he bagged the weekend winner at Palace. Although many are looking to bring in 15 players with a pair of fixtures in time for double Gameweek 24, can we really risk selling a player that’s averaged 7.2 points per game so far? With a trip to Sunderland in Gameweek 33 and home clash against Swansea in Gameweek 35 – at a time where six sides are without a fixture – Mahrez’ current form may well retain his place in our wildcard teams as the Foxes look to cement their spot at the summit.

…and Kane looks undroppable….
The Tottenham frontman is also stepping up his output as Mauricio Pochettino’s men remain in the race for the crown. Kane’s two goals and assist against Bournemouth helped him to a 16-point haul and, allied with a double at Villa, served up back-to-back double-figure returns for the first time this term. Granted, the fixtures are hardly straightforward (liv, MUN, sto, WBA, che) but Kane’s red-hot streak is clearly making many think twice over parting company.

Everton’s inconsistency remains an issue….
With nine matches still to play in the final seven Gameweeks, Everton’s home clash against Arsenal afforded us an early opportunity to scout their main men ahead of the double Gameweeks. The Toffees failed to convince, though – a 2-0 Goodison loss was the second time in three they’ve been unable to score in front of their own fans, whilst Roberto Martinez’ men have now failed to keep a clean sheet in each of the last four. Whilst Romelu Lukaku remains a key target for most, his team-mates are struggling to show they are worthy of our consideration.

Iwobi’s on the radar….
Handed a start against Barcelona in midweek, the youngster kept his place as Arsene Wenger’s side made their way to Goodison. Iwobi vindicated his manager’s decision by netting the second in a 2-0 win to strengthen his claim for a run of first-team outings from this point onwards. Priced at just 4.5 and listed as a midfielder, the teenager is bound to spark a bandwagon if he can hold off the challenge of Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell for double Gameweek 34.

The Hammers lone striker role remains up for grabs….
Rewarded for his goal and assist off the bench at Everton with a first start since Gameweek 14, Diafra Sakho was unable to take his chance in West Ham’s stalemate at Stamford Bridge. Just one minute after replacing the Senegal striker, Andy Carroll was amongst the goals as Slaven Bilic’s “Plan B” immediately reaped reward against the champions. Although the Hammers’ assets will surely play a part in our wildcards as a result of their pair of doubles, the competition for minutes up front looks set to steer our attentions away from their strikers.

The Canaries are building momentum….
It’s back-to-back clean sheets for Alex Neil’s men, with a 1-0 win at West Brom helping them clamber two points clear of the drop zone. Norwich’s triumph over Tony Pulis’ men came without the likes of Nathan Redmond and Steven Naismith, with a 4-4-2 set-up proving decisive at the Hawthorns. With three vital fixtures to follow (NEW, cpl, SUN) and a double in Gameweek 35 (MUN, WAT), the Carrow Road club may yet prove an unlikely source of Fantasy returns as they look to save their top-flight status.

Mitrovic could be Rafa’s main man….
The Serbian has now started both matches since the appointment of Rafa Benitez and fired a precious equaliser at home to Sunderland to salvage a derby draw. Analysing the numbers, Mitrovic clearly looks key to their survival bid – he sits second amongst forwards for touches in the box and joint-top for efforts in the opposition box in the last two Gameweeks. Having also found the net against the likes of United, City and Spurs, the 6.2-priced striker may well prove a canny differential for those willing to gamble with their three-man frontlines.

The Saints still have plenty to play for….
A stunning 3-2 comeback win over Liverpool took the St Mary’s side to just four points off fourth spot yesterday. Granted, their lack of a double Gameweeks will ensure than few, if any, will be tempted by weekend scorers Graziano Pelle (three goals and two assists in two Gameweeks) or Sadio Mane but with their dreams of Champions League football still very much alive, the Saints clearly have the form to play a part in the run-in. Those holding Leicester defenders will be hoping the Foxes can curtail Koeman’s charges as they head to the King Power next time out.

Our Liverpool options are on the up….
With Roberto Firmino sidelined through a hamstring injury, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge served a timely reminder of their capabilities by bagging a goal apiece at Southampton. Although Firmino remains the standout option for many ahead of Liverpool’s two doubles, yesterday’s teamsheet – where Coutinho and Sturridge started for the second time in three days – also suggests that rotation may not be quite as rife as we anticipated over the run-in. With Adam Lallana now sitting on three goals and as many assists in his last six league outings, the case for looking beyond Firmino is gathering pace.

Pep’s arrival can’t come soon enough for City….
A 1-0 home reverse to United means that the Etihad side have won just three of 11 matches in all competitions since confirming the Spaniard’s summer arrival. In terms of league outings, City have played seven times and scored more than a single goal on one occasion over that period – a 4-0 thrashing of basement-dwellers Villa in Gameweek 29. With Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling adding to Manuel Pellegrini’s injury concerns, City’s worrying lack of form may well see many opt against loading up on their main men ahead of the double.

United’s defence may be the way to go….
Whilst Marcus Rashford hogged the headlines with a derby winner over City, United’s lack of impact in the final third – two goals in the last three Gameweeks – allied with the imminent return of Wayne Rooney, dents the youngster’s Fantasy prospects. Instead, yesterday’s 1-0 win earned the Red Devils a fourteenth clean sheet of the season and strengthened the case for considering their defenders in our wildcard plans. With back-to-back home clashes against Villa and Palace in Gameweek 34, the appeal of Chris Smalling and David de Gea is gaining momentum after another resilient rearguard display.

Arsenal defence worth a double-up? The attacking points are always a bit of a lottery with Arsenal, so I'm content just stick with Ozil.
But Bellerin & Monreal could be a nice tandem for gws 34 and 35.

If you can't afford Ozil & Sanchez and don't fancy punting on Welbeck then for sure.

Sanchez is tempting... but I doubt I can afford both him and Ozil without serious compromises elsewhere. Welbeck is an interesting one. I still don't think he's nailed-on enough, though.

Monreal has started all but 2 of the 31 PL games so far. Gibbs *could* get a game, but it seems unlikely on recent evidence.

Maybe... I have to rid myself of this bias towards cheap keepers. Cech is about as expensive as Monreal, and would be a guaranteed starter. Plus, it would solve the gw35 gk conundrum. Thanks.

Too soon to WC this lot? Tough enough fixtures..
Tempted to just do it but fearing it may backfire later.

    Schmeichel, Butland
    Toby, Dawson, Williams, Fran, Fonte
    Eriksen, Siggy, Mahrez, Payet, Stan
    Aguero, Vardy, Kane

    1ft, 5.3m in bank

Eriksen- Sanchez in mind or something if just the 1 transfer.

Don't see much wrong with firing it now. Depends on how you see some games going - Arsenal...Leicester...United Everton...

Okay so the Hart injury is a bummer, meaning I can't take a midfield punt for next GW before wildcarding. Using a trannie to swap keepers is really meh. So, the GW32 WC....I've read the community article...

Main issue seems to be that 32 fixtures are great, 33 fixtures aren't. But that is still a problem for people wildcarding in 33...as far as I can see....the disadvantage is that there are lots of options developing which could be great but I would really like to see one more gameweek of teamsheets...i.e Rashford/Lingaard and United's attacking shape, Rooney's fitness, is Gabriel/Wellbeck nailed on, Lanzini and Antonio, the way Benetiz is setting up Newcastle and which defenders/attackers he is playing, City form/defenders against Bournemouth

32 feels much riskier in this sense...

If you feel like those unanswered questions are that important for your WC team you should probably wait. To be fair, you are discussing the fringes of your FPL team with those questions mostly...the 5th mid, 5th defender, 3rd striker...might not matter too much when the heavy hitters will hopefully hit heavy.

Need some help moving forward, with no WC.

    My team:
    Lloris - Hennessey
    Dawson - Clichy - Bellerin - Williams - Huth
    Mahrez - Sanchez - Silva - Siggy - Stanislas
    Aguero - Vardy - Kane

    0FT, 0.0 ITB

How do I approach using my bench boost? Especially without any cash to spare...Do I dare drop Aguero for GW 34? Or do I use my TC for GW34, then ditch aguero for like Sturridge in GW36, freeing up plenty of cash to BB.

    Cheers!

Unless you take a massive hit you won't be able to get DGWers on your bench so treat the bench boost as though DGWs don't exist and just play it when the players you would be benching have decent or good fixtures.

Cheers, Walsh. Where do you feel I should free up funds for a 5th playing mid? Aguero can go depending on how these next few GWs go and 34, but I feel I can't lose Kane no matter the lack of DGWs.

Perhaps Silva > Cout/Firm might do to go Stan > 6.1 or less.

I agree with your limited amount of transfers to get DGWers I wouldn't be removing Kane most likely either. Maybe Vardy to Rashford? Sil

Silva still has a DGW even though he's been pretty poor seems folly to remove him at this point.

Harry Kane is 100/1 with skybet to score at least 260 premier league goals in his career. He's got 45 already and his not even 23 years old yet. What a great bet, tried to put 100 quid on it and it only let me put £22 on it.

I'd fancy Kane more as I can see Lukaku going abroad and spending a large part of his career elsewhere more than the mouth breather. Still probably a good lay on Rom too though.

that's a bet to say he'll become the highest all time premier league scorer.
He'll have to score 20 league goals a season for the next decade.
Not so sure I'd put 100 quid on that!

Averaging 25 over the last 2, good chance of 20 average over the next 9, that'll leave him needing 35 in his twilight last 5 seasons

Let's say he has 11 seasons left, that's being generous. 2 seasons blighted by injury so 10 goals max each of those seasons. Another 6 goals this season.

              so that's:

              215 - 26 = 189

              189 / 9 = 21

Average of 21 goals per season. Quite difficult.

Obviously Those numbers for injuries etc I've just made up, but it's a good rough figure.

It should let you put it on a different date or in the day time. This time of night they have set limits unless you're a vip on special markets.

Try in the daytime, if it still says no give them a bell, it's a 30 second job for a trader to let you put it on, and they'll never say no unless you're restricted anyway.

Don't let me put you off. Value is in the eye of the beholder. I say forgetting. I've seen accounts so many times that sometimes have tens of thousands left in them for years when an antepost bet has paid out and people have forgotten.

THese days bookies have an inactive account fee too. This is basically a percentage, up to a max amount, that's taken off any account with a balance that haven't been used in X number of years.

X being defined by the company in question.

Yeah I'm going to do it this international break...decided today. Pity a day late missed a few risers but oh well. Figure it'll be fun to have a week where I have basically a full differential 11 compared to everyone else who still will have their 6ish Spurs and Leicester players. Will probably go pear shaped but whatever. I'd like to crack top 10k and seems like a good way to try to make up ground.

Nice, with the one qualification that you'll be praying against Aguero for a while. Might work out but still, you'll be hiding behind the couch a bit.

                      indeed.
No city at all makes me nervous, but they've been so bad recently - and two away games during the DGW has me thinking a punt on Sanchez will be the better option

Quite happy with this draft which gives me 14 (keeping Simpson) DGWers in 34, 2 FTs to get 11 playing in 35 (ship Rashford & Rojo for Defoe & another Sunderland or Chelsea defender) and 2 more FTs to get 11 DGWers in 37.

                  DDG Elliot
                  Bellerin Clyne Sakho Rojo Simpson
                  Ozil Sanchez Firmino Payet Lanzini
                  Aguero Lukaku Rashford

First attempt at a mock wildcard team. Thoughts?

                  DDG Eliot
                  Bellerin, Koscielny, Smalling, Clyne, Janmaat
                  Ozil, Payet, Firmino, Wijnaldum, Milner
                  Aguero, Lukaku, Rashford

Just depends on Rooney staying injured....

Looks very similar to what I'm playing around with. I've got a heavy defense too. Haven't had Ozil in some time, and starting to think he might not be worth the outlay...Wijy playing deep for Rafa has me off him.

Aye, I'll probably get rid of Wij if we don't get some positive signs beforehand.

Heavy defence makes sense to me based on early drafts, largely because of issues with Arsenal/United's attack.

I feel like I have to put Wij in, don't want anyone else from the doubles (that I don't already have cover for (ARS, LEI, LIV)), and he has a lot of good home games, with villa away. how bad could it be? he did still get an assist from that deep role too, at least he's central now. similar to ramsey's success maybe?

Nobody seems to like Sturridge in their WC teams.
A big risk I know, but seriously explosive potential...

Europa league is going to really screw Liverpool attack. Rotation will be rife. I'm honestly thinking of avoiding altogether. They have 7 games in 21 days.

I understand that. The only thing I don't get is world cups or european champs. Performances usually increase with no rotation as the days pass and number of games increase.

Not a golf fan at all but I won a bit over the weekend. TBH don't even know the players, just went on those american golf websites. They're pretty detailed. Couple of EW bets, doubled my money.

Cheltenham has got me gambling again.

I find myself gambling more when there is a international break with FPL. It's like a release. Not a golf fan either but I do enjoy watching the American big tournaments like the masters when I'm in bed of an evening, after having a little flutter of course

Yeah, I'm restricted or excluded (ex gf who made me stop gambling) with most of the companies.

atm it's go with a lesser known company that's usually sh!t or have dodgy practices (they do exist, used to work for one) or Paddys. The only account that's fully open and unrestricted.

Working nights takes the interest away for me for the most part. the lower leagues in the lesser European leagues are the best place to find value. You'll usually find one game that is totally priced wrong. Not looked for ages but the Belgium 2nd tier used to be a goldmine for me.

If you have the time and patience, give it a go, make a few spreadsheets, win money until they restrict you.

Cheers, I've got lots of accounts but set up a 50 pound per week deposit limit on all of them (except Skybet, 100) Yh football is the only thing you can genuinely win on, although I play more just for the buzz than to actually try and win money, but of clourse once your chasing, it's not about making money, it's getting your money back, that's the problem. That's why I've set deposit limits so it don't get out of hand.

I am geting shafted for time off tomorrow.

I normally do a shift of 7pm to 7am so a 12 hour shift but tomorrow I have been asked to stay behind for a meeting with a customer which starts at 8am

As I see it I am going to be here for a minimum of 14 hours. Not happy I need my sleep

                          remember the 11 hour rule.

Legally, for nights at least, you have to have at least 11 hours between shifts. Just tell them that and start later. It is the law after all.

Cannot understand mass sale of Ozil. Ok he has blanked a few. Yellow flag not an issue says he is available for both Germany friendliest. Hope the selling continues. I am getting him in. Sanchez first though but will have both. Fixtures to end of season are nice.

For me I just don't get this game week 34 hype and getting 15 dgw players.
The teams you would want players from just don't do it for me.
man city - inconsitant, expensive and on bad form.
Liverpool - expensive, massive rotation risk (have you seen there schedule. They play bournemouth less than than 48 hours after Dortmund for example.
Arsenal - rotation risks and no solid picks. Maybe ozil, belerin and Sanchez aside.
man utd - again uncertainty over players and can they score more than one goal per game!?!

that leaves the rest which to be honest none have great form and dgw fixtures.

Lots of ppl are ripping up their team which I think will hurt them game week 35 onwards.

I just don't see the value and massive advantage ppl are creaming themselves about. Have I missed something?

You've not missed anything ... it's the opportunity for a well-selected 11-15 players to double your score that week, with minimal changes required to clean it up after. I agree with your assessment of the teams above but at that stage of the season they've all got SOOO much to play for and will be fielding strong teams.

Liverpool have doubles in GW37 also and a good run of fixtures post GW34
United are hitting their straps and are pushing for CL qualification, same with West Ham
City are trying to keep in the 4 and will be looking to finish strongly, you know Aguero has a few massive scores under his belt still and they'll hit their form inevitably
Arsenal are also pushing for the title and the 3 you've mentioned above can return double digit scores across the DGW so why not, and you'll keep at least 2 for the rest of the season.

JMAN ... i aprpeciate your thoughts on this. If you WC in GW 33 then you have 2 FTs to clean up the side after the DGW and get, for example, Vardy, Mahrez and Kane back into your side.

If you WC in gw 33 then what is your gw 33 and 35 team looking like? Compared to if you don't WC. I think those weeks players who have not ripped up their teams to accomdate the dgw players will be at a real advantage.

for me there are only a few players you HAVE to have for the dgw and they are typically in players teams already.

As my team is above, GW 33 and 35 are pretty strong, about 90% of what I would like ... and the upside to the DGW far outweighs the short-term loss, especially if you have the FTs to get key players back in, such as Vardy or Kane

So much can happen between now and GW 33, with the international break and injuries etc etc. I still have WC, BB and TC and all the clamour about planning ahead the DGWs is making my head hurt. For me, now I'm just gonna relax and play as usual, making the best transfers for the immediate GW, and wait until the time comes to do WC in GW 33, only then I assess the options available to me. Having healthy team value and money in the bank allows for a bit of peace of mind too.

                          This is incorrect, I believe.

Liverpool players are definitely not expensive for starters: Migs at 4.9, Flanny 4.4, Sakho 4.7, Firmino (best form mid in the league) 8.3. Come on those aren't bad at all. And they don't play Dortmund and Bournemouth within 48 hours... Europa is Thursday and their league game is Sunday.

Arsenal... Cech, Bellerin, Kos, Ozil, Sanchez... All amazing picks and fixtures.

United, DDG, Smalling, possibly Rojo now. Could punt on Martial.

                          Lukaku.

There maybe aren't enough to justify getting in 15 DGW players but it's definitely worth as much investment as possible for the BB.

                        DDG, Elliot
                        Smalling, Sakho, Cresswell, McAuley, Bellerin
                        Coutinho, Firmino, Payet, Ozil, Mahrez
                        Lukaku, Kun, Deeney

Does any one rate Deeney for the DGW 34? I want to have players very likely to start both games. The above players probably will??

this is for gw34 planning. Seems like Elliot has the better fixtures.

Praps he can just sit in the hole, head bowed, and reflect on the season he's had.

If he has a mare in the meanwhile, then he can start rotting.

From Waynes perspective though he must have had a wonderful season. He is now first choice at a premier league club(probably won't get relegated either) and he is going to be first choice for Wales at the Euros.

Must be quite a special time for him really.

If only he could keep some clean sheets

He'd be west broms keeper if Pulis hadn't been cheap and refused to meet our asking price pre season.

                                        That must be it.

Maybe he saw Hennessey playing with his velcro gloves on catching sheep and thought he was a better keeper than he is?

Thing is he really wanted it at that time

FAQ on the main-page, but here's the guts of it:

How do I link my name to my FPL team?
Once registered, you have the option of including a website link that people can navigate to by clicking your name on any comment you make. To insert this url go to this page and once logged in, enter the url of your choice in the website field. If you wish to your link to include a link to navigate people to your Fantasy Premier League team, then go to your ‘My Team’ page on the Fantasy Premier League website, click ‘History’ underneath your team kit, and copy this pages’ url into the website field on the Fantasy Football Scout profile page.

                              Thanks mate!! 🙂

Does anyone have a link to the latest update on the Base BPS breakdown? Trying to identify which West Ham, Newcastel, etc. defenders are earning BPS without needing attacking returns

Probably not many of them as they rarely keep CSs. I'd say (at a guess) Cresswell might be your best bet because of his attacking returns, the rest are all questionable as they don't score goals or get assists.

Agreed. Cresswell is the man if funds aren't pressing. Alternatively, Reud.
