ICC World T20 Fantasy – Phase 3

The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

        If he gets only 2 wickets, I think guptill stays ahead. If they win, guptill will probably win motm as well

        Even discounting the higher probability he will get MOM Guptill is 95 points ahead, so I'm not sure how you get to this conclusion

        Ah, thanks guys. Tbf, vast majority have gone for Corey(c) so if he doesn't deliver with the ball that mostly limits the damage for Amir cappers.

            I can't believe it. Especially when figures for other players seem virtually unchanged. It doesn't pass the 'pub test'.

            They're surely wrong from what I have seen, De Villiers went from 62 before SA vs Afg to 26 halfway through the match and 38 at the end of the match

              Yep. I wouldnt want to see U Akmal in a pakistan shirt ever again so much talent wasted. 🙁 Pakistan have missed a potent spinner this tournament but the batsmen have been a major let down. Always think the selectors fail to pick the best team.

              Sarfraz comes in way too late and malik should bat higher up

    Feel like it would be Williamson to Rohit
    Root to kohli
    Nabi to 70k

    Shaqib doesn't do well against India and I cannot accommodate him..and can't remove set combination of NZ and Pak players ..

    Inspite a poor show this match. Somehow my overall ranking improved. Now at 36. I capped Amir and got only 460 from 6. Have Roy Root Rashid and Shahzad for the next match. So will probably just save the transfer. And most likely cap Root.

    Is it worth using a transfer to bring in someone up to 100k? Maybe Shazhad, Nabi, Alli, or Hales?

    Gonna captain Adil Rashid, I think. England will need to knock AFG over for as low a total as possible to help with the NRR, and Rashid's their most attacking bowler. Should do alright on this Kotla strip.
