We roll out the first in a series of members articles analysing players per position over their previous four matches. Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool’s full-backs arrive on our radar, whilst we also look to the defensive improvements by Norwich and Newcastle before assessing the contrasting recent displays of both Manchester sides.

Loving the amount of DGW33 Wildcard posts occurring at the moment, feels like its only a few days until we arrive at a consensus of the 'perfect team'. At least until the international week decimates it through injuries and we start again

My latest draft is below, zero in the bank so I imagine there'd have to be some change to it nearer the time:

    Migs-Eliot
    Bell-Fuchs-Sakho-Rojo-Olsson
    Ozil-Firmino-Payet-Mahrez-Wijnaldum
    Kun-Lukaku-Welbeck

Any opinions welcome, feel free to rip it apart.

Fuchs I have already, and has been an absolute rock in my team since I was recommended him on here by Jazz, if I remember. I'm not sure about martial, I want my strikers to be playing as a striker rather than on the wing. Will defo consider the Olsson to Gabriel though, if I decide against Welbeck.

Welbeck I reckon is a punt, hardly guaranteed the 180 mins. Sturridge is too expensive a gamble in my book,so Aguero is in my side till I trans him out for Costa at GW36/37. He plays in GW35 and has a good fixture in GW33 too. What's not to like?

Plus CL games. Poor with Bony in the team. Defence decimated. Silva playing through the pain barrier which isn't ideal.

Only plus is KDB possibly returning.

He has also looked a bit unlike himself. Demotivated, dropping deep, trying to provide cover, playing as a target man holding the ball up.

There are 3 reasons to keep him for me. History, fear and penalties.

        Any reason why?

The only fixture that combo is better is during DGW37 where DDG > Robles.

Cech seems like a more reliable source of points for the other weeks compared to DDG (and Elliot on GW35)

        1. vardys party

That's the combo I'm using. De gea nailed for United's nice fixtures. Eliot cheap and could get a clean sheet in gw34. I'll then get rid of him for Kasper in 35 and play DDG the remaining weeks

My only consideration is Janmaat vs Fuchs.

And Antonio / Lanzini vs Alli, especially if Everton plays on GW35.

As a Newcastle fan and a Fuchs fan, there's no contest there. We've looked tighter under rafa, but that's not saying much. Our defence is easier to open than a packet of Kettle chips.

            • 11 Years

Lanzini could be a shout mind, and I expect that'd give you a fair bit of cash. Antonio's been playing right back recently as well which lessens his appeal.

Reckon Tomkins / Byran should be back this GW so ANtonio will slot back to right wing.

But yeah Lanzini (and Robles to Elliot) allow me to upgrade Rojo -> Smalling which has it appeal. Although all depending on Everton reschedule.

He's the one I'm most likely to keep too, simply because he fits in so easily. That said, Kane seems like the one who could potentially do the most damage to non-owners. It's just that he takes up a lot of cash and a valuable striker spot....

Thoughts on a wc team for 32

      Adrian, Elliot
      Bellerin, Fuchs, Sakho, Olsson, Simpson
      Ozil, Firmino, Payet, Mahrez, Sanchez
      Aguero, Kane, Rashford

Kane would become Lukuku most likely for double. Stand to loose 0.2 on this

      1. Elijah's Wood
        • 11 Years

Only worry would be Rashford with Rooney so close to returning, other than that it is a powerhouse midfield with Bellerin/Aguero/Kane.

Im still unsure about losing Kane personally but the team looks good, maybe dont double up on Leicester defence and swap Fuchs to Rojo? United have great double fixtures for defence returns.

      Two questions please:

      A) Would you WC in 33 this team:

      Schmeichel
      Dawson / Williams / Wolly
      Mahrez / Sanchez / Payet / Siggy
      Aguero / Kane / Lukaku

      Elliot / Alli / VVD / Moreno - £0.1m banked

Hypnos has just pointed out that i could get 8-9 DGW'ers. Was all set on WC33/BB34 that i didnt even consider any other option but on a WC i would be making 8 changes including completely re-doing the defence/

      B) If YES to WC33 then i have 2 FT's and love a punt or two:

Really wanting Ivan for Villa as he is back to goal scoring position (maybe even captain material) but would need to get rid of Siggy or Alli in the process for a £5-6.3m mid - was eyeing up Traore but his lack of starts isnt comforting...

Are there any more obvious transfers that could pay off?

I too am blessed with two frees this week for some punts but I'm weighing up a wildcard. Team is not too bad for this week after your suggested transfers

Thanks Mikess, going into the doubles without 11-15 double players just seems a bit silly when you have a WC at hand, then again you may end up screwing up your team and have no way to fix it for the last 4 GWs

I think if you keep Kane and Mahrez, along with a hatful or Pool, Arsenal and City stars your not in a bad place for the final weeks

Maybe Lanzini/Antonia is a better pick than Traore? Even solidifies them into my WC33 team in case of any price rises.

Is De Gea, Cresswell, Smalling, Payet & Lukaku far too much to bring in on a WC given that they all blank in gwk 35?

you just need to sell one of the 4 outfielders in GW35

Surely Wellbeck has to start both games in DGW and play at least 140 mins. He is their in form striker and they need to win. 3 days then 2 days to rest up as well. i think he will play both.

There will be many discussions & arguments as to why 15 is crazy on here over the next 2 weeks.
Then there will be a scoutcast and a flurry of panic posts and advice.
I reckon 90%+ on here will go 15 by the the time GW arrives.

for me the biggest one is Mahrez

7.2 PPG for 6.5 (which is his cost in my team)

do you really think Milner in 2 games can match him?

                  He is the 'big' question.
With a final 3 fixtures of ManU (a) Eve (h) Che (a) with the league at stake I may have been having a punt elsewhere.
I'd have played safe if no DGW's but 2 in the final 5 GW's is a big gamechanger for me.
Milner in theory starts the GW on 4 pts with games against Bournemouth & Everton - why not?
For the record, Milner hasn't been in my plans at any stage thus far.
