After delving into the Defensive data over the last four matches earlier this week, we turn our attentions to the centre of the park. With double Gameweek shopping in mind, we compare some of the West Ham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle midfielders, before casting an eye over the upturn in form from Leicester’s talismanic wide man.

    RMWCT:

    Robles Mignolet
    Koscielny Bellerin Rojo Reid Sakho
    Ozil Payet Firmino Mahrez Lanzini
    Kane Aguero Lukaku

0.8ITB for tweaks. Keen to hear suggestions. Cheers!

I want a combination involving Robles but not Elliot or no GK in GW35 😀 Can't find a better one atm.

It is tough going right now. I myself want to risk dropping Kane which frees lot of funds but struggling to find a striker even with that kind of money! I would gladly give up my 3rd striker spot for a 6tth midfielder right now ðŸ™

Risky, yes. 2 away games though. One of them against Chelsea.
Plus the bench boost with DGWers should off set any Aguero points.

TC in 37 for me. Payet,Lukaku,Firmino or Costa.

You reckon I should go Cech - Robles + Simpson from the next 4 or Robles - Elliot + Bellerin.

Basically it's Bellerin attacking threat vs Leicester defense over Newcastle over the next 4.

Not sold on Rojo tbh - Gabriel over Kosc is the same risk as Rojo over Smalling.

Lanzini v Lingard is a toss up, but I prefer Lingard for the first double.

      Great overall

True, but it's a bit like Moreno - you think he's a bit of a fave with him and then wham, rotation strikes. As a United fan, I'd expect CBJ and even Young to move ahead of Rojo again

How much of an impact CBJ made when he was fit.
Rashford was expected to be dropped once Martial came back, but there he is, still in the team

Not really. Until it was forced, we would have played Martial up top and Lingard/Mata/Memphis wide. The debut for Rashford came because there was no Martial

He kept his place due to form, obviously, so he's still there because Rooney is out, but he got his chance because Martial AND Rooney were out, else it would never have happened

Hi Guys, my team below. Unfortunately don’t have a WC and have to build up to this with a -8 knock. Your advice on the DGW team and which of the options below makes more sense, would be appreciated:

    A) Rashford Coutinho Sakho (Worried about Rashford game time with Rooney lurking)
    B) Martial Lingard Clyne

    DGW team:

    de Gea Elliot

    Fuchs Azpilicueta Clyne/Sakho Sagna Bellerín

    Lingard/Coutinho Firmino Payet Sánchez Mahrez

    Kane Agüero Martial/Rashford

No Monreal and Lennon lovers here?
Monreal is the cheapest nailed on defender and 0.5m cheaper than Bellerin (Not the same attacking threat but at this point the cash matters i feel) and Lennon has scored in all last 4 matches in which Everton have scored plus an assist.
Considering this team for a WC33:
    Mignolet-Robles
    Monreal-Gabriel-Rojo-Simpson-4.4m(maybe Ake)
    Ozil-Firmino-Payet-Mahrez-Lennon
    Lukaku-Kun-Kane
Would love to hear your thoughts over this!
And Maybe an advice over what can i do for gw35

Monreal has missed starting league games only twice this season. Both of them were when there were mid-week games. 🙂

Gabriel seems 1st choice above Mert, but still no guarantee he will start the second game, I am willing to risk it though, and if you are short on funds then I think this is a legitimate risk

Rest look reasonable as per the many opinions on here.

I'd downgrade Payet, who has poor fixtures and no game in GW35, to a Liverpool second mid and use the MITB to upgrade your defence.

The way the season has gone, after all the DGWs 33,34,37 are done with, the non-non-casuals might win the lottery with a team like

How does this look for DGW34, BB will be active:
    De Gea, Mignolet
    Bellerin, Clyne, Rojo, Monreal, Sagna
    Yaya, Firmino, Sanchez, Wijnaldum, Lanzini
    Aguero, Lukaku, Rashford

    15 DGW players for GW34 and 10 plus 1FT for GW 35

      9 years, 8 months ago

      Sagna-Huth
      Wijbum-Payet
      Rashford-Kane.

You'll have to free up funds for these elsewhere. Sanchez for Ozil for example.

Why is everyone thinking rojo is most nailed after smalling. Surely darmian is the one to think about ahead of rojo. Darmian had a great derby and also a good match vs spain, also he can play both fullback positions. Rojo had a bad derby (navas was getting bettwer of him!) And with valencia returning lvg may opt for valencia darmian if he drops rojo.

which means RB is more likely to be rotated?

Tbh I think Rojo and Darmian will get equal numbers of gametime

Reckon there will be one odd game where Valencia starts of Rojo and one over Darmian.

    Thoughts on GW33 wild card.
    Robles/Elliot
    Bellerin/Gabriel/Darmian/moreno/Delaney
    Ozil/debruyne/payet/mahrez/Lennon
    Aguero/Sturrridge/lakaku

This would give 4 dgw players for gw33, and 14 dgw players for gw 34 with bench boost. Then use free transfers to get ready for gw 37 with payet as triple captain in gw 37

I'm thinking Clichy will play both games in the double. Too risky do you think? If I get a Leicester defender instead I can also upgrade Monreal.

He might. I'd take almost any other defender than a City one though

I'd have virtually any team's defender (except Villa's), before City's.

The perfect strategy for navigating the doubles will almost certainly not be a hit-free one. So why limit yourself?

Planning 2 hits so far, maybe one in gw38 too.
