ICC World T20 Fantasy – Phase 3

The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

        I ignore the prices and go off my ratings... I've picked a few 70k players over the tournament who've done ok, but more importantly, allowed enough funds to bring in the expensive all-rounders and top class bowlers/batsmen

        Definitely consider some of the cheaper players as 'bargains' rather than 'inferior' you're right.

              Yip, a couple of good differentials over popular failing players certainly shoot you up. I went from 66th to 20th after that last game... though I'm certainly going to fall back down if Dilshan, Chandimal and Siriwardana don't perform with the bat here.

        'Only' 100pts from that though, bloody scoring system.

        Hopefully he gets a few catches/stumpings and MOTM.

          Aye, it's not right is it!

          I've been going all-rounders for that reason... the scoring definitely favours wickets... runs on top a bonus.

          Can't see anyone challenging him for MOTM after tha thought, so you should be able to bank those.

        Ownership's only about 11% I think? Fancied a little swing to get results and really don't rate SL so was convinced wickets would tumble. Choose Rashid over Root for that reason. Just hoping he gets chance to bowl lol
