After rolling out Part One of our assessment of the recent internationals, we now examine the pitch time and distance travelled by those players who ply their trade for the remaining ten teams.

NEWCASTLE

With Tim Krul already a long-term absentee, Rafael Benitez was dealt a cruel blow following the season-ending knee injury suffered by Rob Elliot whilst playing for Republic of Ireland against Slovakia on Tuesday night. Chancel Mbemba and Henri Saivet will need to be assessed following long flights back to Tyneside.

Rob Elliot – Republic of Ireland (25/03 (h) v Switzerland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Slovakia in Dublin) – Unused substitute against Switzerland, but started against Slovakia. Suffered a serious knee injury during the first-half on Tuesday night, and has been ruled out for at least six months.

Georginio Wijnaldum – Netherlands (25/03 (h) v France in Amsterdam and 29/03 (a) v England in London) – Played 14 minutes as a substitute against France, and the full match against England.

NORWICH

None of the Norwich players face long flights back, with Dieumerci Mbokani not featuring for DR Congo after being at Zaventem Airport in Brussels during the terror attacks. Alex Neil shouldn’t have too many issues as he prepares his side for the crunch home clash against fellow strugglers Newcastle on Saturday.

Martin Olsson – Sweden (24/03 (a) v Turkey in Antalya and 29/03 (h) v Czech Republic in Solna) – Was an unused substitute against Turkey, but played the full match against Czech Republic, registering an assist in the 1-1 draw.
Timm Klose – Switzerland (25/03 (a) v Republic of Ireland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Bosnia- Herzegovina in Zurich) – Played the full match in Dublin, and 45 minutes as a substitute against Bosnia- Herzegovina.
Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker – Scotland (24/03 (a) v Czech Republic in Prague and 29/03 (h) v Denmark in Glasgow) – Martin only played the full 90 minutes against Czech Republic. Whittaker only played the full match against Denmark.

Hoolahan came off the bench for 11 minutes in the first match, and played 73 minutes on Tuesday night.

Cedric Soares and Jose Fonte – Portugal (25/03 (h) v Bulgaria in Leiria and 29/03 (h) v Belgium in Leiria) – Both players were unused substitutes against Bulgaria, but played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Belgium.

Shane Long – Republic of Ireland (25/03 (h) v Switzerland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Slovakia in Dublin) – Played 84 minutes in the first match, and 45 in the second, scoring a penalty before being substituted at half-time.
Graziano Pelle – Italy (24/03 (h) v Spain in Udine and 29/03 (a) v Germany in Munich) – Only played 60 minutes against Spain.

STOKE

Mark Hughes was dealt a huge blow when Jack Butland was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a fractured ankle during England’s friendly in Germany. Geoff Cameron and Mame Biram Diouf could arrive back late following matches on Tuesday night, and will need to be assessed on their return ahead of the home match against Swansea. SUNDERLAND

Only DeAndre Yedlin played 180 minutes over the international break among the Black Cats’ squad, so the right-back will need to be assessed when he returns, with Sunderland facing a crucial home fixture against West Brom on Saturday.

Jordan Pickford – England U21 (26/03 (a) v Switzerland in Thun) – 90 minutes.
DeAndre Yedlin – USA (26/03 (a) v Guatemala in Ciadad de Guatemala and 29/03 (h) v Guatemala in Columbus) – 180 minutes.

SWANSEA

WATFORD

Odion Ighalo chalked up 180 minutes for Nigeria over the international break, and with their second match taking place on Tuesday, the striker will need to be assessed when he returns to the club. Juan Carlos Paredes also played late on Tuesday night, and may only arrive back at some point today.

Craig Cathcart – Northern Ireland (24/03 (a) v Wales in Cardiff and 28/03 (h) v Slovenia in Belfast) – Played the full match against Wales, and got on the scoresheet in a 1-1 draw. Also played the full 90 minutes against Slovenia.

WEST BROM

Salomon Rondon wasn’t available for Venezuela’s second match due to suspension and flew back to the midlands early as a result. That should increase the chances the striker starts against Sunderland on Saturday, while Gareth McAuley, Jonny Evans and James Chester all played their second matches on Monday night, giving them some extra recovery time.

Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans – Northern Ireland (24/03 (a) v Wales in Cardiff and 28/03 (h) v Slovenia in Belfast) – McAuley played the full 90 minutes and Cardiff, before playing just the first-half against Slovenia. WEST HAM

Slaven Bilic will be delighted with the form Dimitri Payet showed on the international duty, while he’ll also be pleased he only played 27 minutes on Tuesday night, meaning he should be pretty fresh for the home encounter against Crystal Palace. Enner Valencia did play both matches for Ecuador though, and will need to be assessed on his return to the club.

Darren Randolph – Republic of Ireland (25/03 (h) v Switzerland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Slovakia in Dublin) – Played the full match against Switzerland, and 74 minutes against Slovakia after Rob Elliot suffered a serious knee injury.

Which combo do you prefer for this week only?

    a) Fabregas (avl) & Alderweireld (liv)
    b) Alli (liv) & Azpilicueta (avl)
    c) Alli (liv) & Koscielny (WAT)

On a side note, I cannot wait to activate that wildcard next week 8)

I'm very tempted by Mitrovic (don't know why), but have Kaku-Kun-Kane.
    Kane not worth losing probably?

Do you have other forwards in mind with DGW who are worth it?
        Welbz / Martial?

        1. Epic Fail

If I could guarantee Giroud wouldn't steal his starting place back, I'd be all over Welbeck. Could be a good punt though.

Martial could be good for Villa alone. Only problem is you never know which Man Utd are gonna turn up. Another punt.

Yeah, nothing worth investing in over the form Kane is in probably, although the DGW are messing with my mind 🙂

I understand why some are going for him. If you think he'll do well, go for it. I'm not losing Kane for him, but I get the reasons why.

I have held onto these chips long enough, time for some fun, how does this WC team look?

    Robles / Darlow
    Sakho / bellerin / Gabriel / ward / rojo
    Barkley / payet / Sanchez / lindergard / bollassie
    Aguero / lukaku / Sturbridge

Don't fancy Lindergard as a midfielder myself.

Just came across a very small glitch.. Whenever you're using the Season Ticker on the main page, if you re-size the browser window in any way (even dragging the tab into another window) the ticker seems to disappear completely off the page, requiring a refresh of the page and losing whichever teams you had previously manually removed.

Using Chrome on PC if ye want to test 🙂 should only be a small thing!

Third from the right, middle row. Looks like Sturridge.

          (A) Yaya+Toby>Alexis(c)+Reid (means play no keeper)
          (B) Butland+Yaya>Courtious+Payet

Bear in mind ML rival 5 points behind is likely to be Alexis (c) this week.

          Is Lallana and Milner madness?

If they don't get any points, yes.

            Third article lucky....

So it's that time of the week guys... Gotta finalise the Payet transfer...

            Butland - Forster
            Bellerin - Alderweireld - Fuchs - Williams - Daniels
            Özil - Firmino - Sigurdsson - Mahrez - Alli
            Aguero - Kane - Vardy

Alli's the correct one to go, right (v Siggy)? Both will be gone on my WC next week anyway.

Actually, my plan was to bench the other for Payet anyway. Do we agree that's the right call (rather than Vardy/Mahrez)?

              Firmino not fit. Apparently.

Serious, or should be ok for the DGW?

I can bench him and play Siggy or Alli (whichever I don't sell this week).

Gotta be Siggy against a Butlandless Stoke?

Oh that's not up for debate. I'm signing him this week to play him.

            Stuck on my last spot..

I've had Janmaat, Reid, Jagielka all in there.. can't decide on who to get... 0.4 off Coleman unfortunately.

            Any thoughts? 5.4itb

            Migs - Ruddy
            Bellerin - Fuchs - Simpson - Klose - *???????*
            Sanchez - Ozil - Payet - Mahrez - Lanzini
            Kun - Kane - Lukaku

Close does;t have a DGW until GW37, and has a blank in GW35.

I want him too, eventually, but too soon??

I'd go for Reid. They have at least one promising CS game in GW34

            Silva -> Payet
            Bench Siggy
            Captain Payet
            No playing Goalkeeper

            or

            Butland -> Playing GK
            Bench Silva
            Captain Aguero
            Play Siggy

Have the same dilemna(ish) but am looking to bring in Alexis and not play the keeper. Think Payet is a red herring this week where as Alexis can explode against Watford.

Best placeholder for Coutinho/Firmino for GW32/33? Bolasie, Mahrez, Lallana, Antonio, Lennon..?
