The EA Sports PPI figures are available and the Fantasy Premier League have updated the game with the bonus points – nice and early. With one game remaining in the gameweek, here’s a simple breakdown of how the points map out…

Everton 2 Wolves 1
Jagielka 3, Baines 2, Hunt 1

Phil Jagielka claims the maximum then – a surprise perhaps, given that Leighton Baines chipped in with an assist and the crucial winner from the spot. The Press Association data may well have recorded some impressive defensive statistics for the centre-back – we’ll look into that further with our Scout article over at the FPL later. As expected, Stephen Hunt sneaked in for the single bonus point here – he saw off Everton’s John Heitinga by just one PPI point.

Stoke 2 QPR 3
Helguson 3, Young 2, Mackie 1

QPR dominate the rankings, with Heidar Helguson recording the highest PPI score of the gameweek with 52. Luke Young’s fine goal has him capture the two bonus, with Jamie Mackie earning the single bonus for his assist – nudging ahead of Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross by just a single PPI point.

Norwich 1 Arsenal 2
Van Persie 3, Gervinho 2, Santos 1

Robin Van Persie again claims the three bonus points – no real surprise there. Gervinho fetches the two, presumably off the back of a string of on target goal attempts that boosted his PPI score. The single bonus point for Andre Santos is an even bigger surprise; the left-back was a full 5 PPI points ahead of Theo Walcott – presumably with a string of impressive PA stats to back it up. Again, this is something we’ll explore further in our Scout article.

Man City 3 Newcastle 1
Richards 3, Aguero 2, Clichy 1

Micah Richards collects the maximum as expected, with Sergio Aguero earning the two for his goal and assist contribution. Gael Clichy’s inclusion, with a single bonus point, is perhaps unexpected; he edged out Mario Balotelli by a single bonus point. We discussed in last night’s ICT analysis how Clichy’s array of defensive stats could see him figure – that appears to have been the factor at play here.

Sunderland 0 Fulham 0
Hangeland & Cattermole 3, O’Shea, Bendtner & Murphy 1

As always with a 0-0 scoreline, the breakdown of EA PPI points in this game was incredibly close. Both Fulham’s Brede Hangeland and Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole shared the maximum by virtue of PPI scores of 16. Three players were just a point behind on 15 – Niclas Bendtner, Danny Murphy and John O’Seah all shared a single bonus point.

West Brom 2 Bolton 1
Shorey 3, Long 2, Thomas 1

We mentioned last night how Nicky Shorey was the most creative player on show in the gameweek according to our ICT Index figures. It seems that his supply from left-back was a factor in sealing t the top PPI score and maximum bonus from this game. Goalscorers Shane Long and Jerome Thomas were left in his wake, picking up the remaining bonus points. Bolton’s Ivan Klasnic missed out by 5 PPI points.

Wigan 3 Blackburn 3
Yakubu 3, Hoilett 2, Caldwell & Crusat 1

Blackburn’s Yakubu was streets ahead in terms of PPI in this game, claiming the three bonus points by a 15 PPI point margin. Team-mate Junior Hoilett can closest to denying him – he collected the two, with the single bonus point being shared by two Wigan scorers – Gary Caldwell and sub Albert Crusat.

Swansea 0 Man United 1
Hernandez 3, Ferdinand 2, Vidic 1

It’s no surprise to see Javier Hernandez top the PPI rankings with his goal at the Liberty stadium proving decisive in Saturday’s game. United’s centre-back pairing ranked next in the PPI list – with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand presumably racking up some impressive defensive statistics to help United to a third consecutive clean sheet. Again, we’ll break this down further in our Scout article later today.

Chelsea 1 Liverpool 2
Johnson 3, Rodriguez 2, Bellamy 1

Glen Johnson acquired an impressive PPI tally of 36 to come out on top in this game by a 7 point margin. Maxi Rodrigquez was his nearest rival, with Craig Bellamy nudging Charlie Adam out of the remaining bonus point by just a single PPI point. Similarly, centre-back pairing Dan Agger and Martin Skrtel, were just a couple of PPI points off bonus recognition in the 2-1 win.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Rooney's price won't bomb - he has such high ownership so now he's back at base price he needs in the region of 80k transfers out for a price drop. Chances are he may drop 0.1 if current form continues but I'd be surprised if he went down further than that. There'll be no bargains to be had here.

What do people think is a better move?

    A. Moses - Drenthe
    Ramsey - Sessegnon

    OR

    B. Moses - Rodwell
    Ramsey - Larrson

I have no other Everton or Sunderland in my team

    Begovic, Vorm
    Kompany, Brown, Wilkinson, Simpson, NTaylor
Van der Vaart, Silva, Ramsey, Cabaye, Dyer
    Van Persie, Aguero, Adebayor

    0.2 in bank.

How can I improve my team? Here's some transfers I'm considering:

    - Downgrade Adebayor to Ba
    - Upgrade NTaylor to PJones
    - Swap Ramsey & Cabaye out for Walters & Drenthe

Do Ramsey to Walters and Begovic to Schwarzer for the better rotation with Vorm.

i think i wouldn't be get baines for his clean sheet potential as i believe everton don't have a great chance of any cleanies, so that means you have to hope for an assist or peno from him most weeks to get any points returns - fair dues he did the business this week, but even wigan managed to score against wolves - next week away to bolton will be a better test of baines points scoring potential in my view

Considering I have him, I'd say yes.

      On the cons:

Everton will start to keep clean sheets
and they're not a poor team
and he's cheap for a midfielder (if you can get it in yourself to see him as one)

i got a chance to watch everton v newcastle a few weeks ago and despite newcastle being down to just 1 1st choice midfielder (cabeye got carried off early in the game, tiote and obertan were both injured) everton still offered very little attacking threat, preferring to lump the ball forward lazily, for intents and purposes the win over wolves (who i rate as prime relegation candidates) was a smash and grab result - i am not disputing baines quality, if he was at a better team like spurs for example he would be an automatic pick, but im not sure i can justify spending nearly 8m on a df who plays for a team that haven't been keeping clean sheets

It's odd to actually want your captain to get a sudden case of the cold... but that would be most beneficial to me more than most, I would think. I get 18 points off the bench in the bank while others would get their Danny Simpson's or Nathan Dyer's etc.

It's not going to happen though. Bleh. I'll take... a full appearance and a goal?

Its strange how things turn, i was looking into getting rid of Rooney due to form and because i just wanted to try something different as everyone has him. I look thru my mini leagues and not people have him anymore so hes kind of become a differential. I cant decide whether to keep, get rid for Hernandez or go even cheaper and upgrade else where.

Each week I melt my brain dallying over a shortlist of players, and whether to do a 4 point hit.
This time I took a 4point hit and neglected, but for once I thought I'd analyse the players I was honestly actually considering. Maybe it's worth a read for anyone else.

    My shortlist:
A striker for Gabby - Straight swap to bendybus/klasnic, free up Bosingwa to get in ManU/ManC cover in Hernandez/Dzecko or lose Mata/VDV to fund Roo/Aguero.
A new keeper as Vorm and Krul faced the formidable Manchester duo - Perhaps Westwood/Howard.
Quite a few mid priced mids I had my eye on - Sess,Eagles,Drenthe as a replacement for the disappointing Moses and Dyer.

    My changes:
    Gabby(to play) -> Hernandez (9pts - 1 goal, 3bp)
    Bosingwa(0pts) -> Brown (6pts - 1 CS)
    Mata (2pts)
    VDV(to play)
    Vorm(3pts)
    Silva (1pt)
    Moses (0pts)

    My considered players:
    dzecko (0pts - didn't play)
    Sess (3pts)
    Bendtner (2pts - 1bp)
    Eagles (2pts)
    Kompany(2pts)
    Vermaelen (2pts)
    Howard (2pts)
    Drenthe (2pts)

    Players I didn't honestly consider:
    Jag/Baines (>10pts)
    Walters (7pts)
    Richards(>10pts)

So my changes and the 4pt hit did well (good fixtures to come too) and literally none of my shortlist performed, where as I was let down by the rest of my team with only P.Jones and RVP helping me to a score of 55.
Perhaps I was wrong in dismissing extortionate Baines and differential Jagielka. That said they didn't keep a cleanie and Jag won't score many.
I've had my eye on Richards all season and is now my top pick over Kompany despite rotation threat and no cleanie.

In conslusion VDV and Ade score for me tonight I probably made the right transfers. If they draw blanks and Gabby scores I may feel otherwise. Hindsight ay...

      Errr

Good calls I guess. But I think you need to take a longer view on these things (except hits, they sort of have to pay sooner rather than later).

I did a hit for Petrov -> Walters.
Reasoning: Petrov won't play 90/60 minutes, Walters was always part of my plans, Walters was about to go up, Walters could score and make the hit back.
Result: I made 2 points on the exchange and got in before a 0.1 increase, now I have Walters (as I wanted) and a transfer, and 2 points and the extra 0.1 - I would consider that a good use of the hit.

I've done hits that didn't work out or were sideways, I'd consider something like Agbonlahor -> Bendy/Klasnic sideways as while they may work out, they're not non-playing for playing, or unlikely to score for likely to score.

Thinking of using one tranny on Begovic for Schwarzer as I have Shawcross too which seems plenty enough Stoke cover just now as they seem a shadow of the defensive rock they were. So the big Aussie rotates lovely with Vorm and seems value now at 4.9m? Thoughts? Other starters Kompany/Enrique with Simpson/Naylor back up..

Also need to bin Cleverley and Saurez but think I might sit tight for a week as it's sods law Saurez will get a hat trick against City of all people lol

Oooo just seen that Begovic can be quite easily replaced with Vorm to rotate with Hennessey, that's pretty awesome 🙂

What do people think to Westwood staying till GW20? Is Gordon going to threaten? I can afford to put De Gea in instead and just play him every week....

All are very tempting, so which would you choose?

    A) Begovic>De Gea - play him every week
    B) Begovic>Vorm - rotate with Hennessey
    C) Begovic>Westwood - rotate with Hennessey

This is of course waiting till the end of the week as Begovic could still play I guess!

I wouldnt go for De GEa after he was rested for two of their easy home games. I am a huge fan of Gordon so I think that he'l threaten westwood but Bruce has just signed Westwood for the future so i' not 100% i'd play it safe and go for Vorm or Sorensen?

Lol transferring to Sorensen is too much of a boxing match vs fate for me.

I think Vorm is the best/safest option, but I think doubling up on United's defence at the moment is a reallllly good idea...De Gea has also just had a 2 week rest?

I don't really look at it on a per week basis (don't play HTH), I look at my team, it's short to medium term fixtures and try maximise that (sounds obvious, but it takes quite a bit of planning), how it performs on a given week is irrelevant to the overall strategy. (e.g. RvP - had him for a dry spell, now he's coming good, or bringing in Baines this last GW as a long term strategy that I had from GW5 (brought in Bosingwa then).

I think wolves will get a bit of a pummeling and my current starting 11 is....

    Vorm
    Wilk Jones ShawX
    Lamps VDV Ramsey Walters
    RVP Aguero Sturridge

1 FT considering Sturridge to Bentner.. but wolves at home is making me think maybe wait 1 more week... but then bentner has wigan at home! Arrrgle

I think the problem with Studge was not that he was nursing an injury, but the injury had prevented him from taking part in training during the week. He was fine by Sunday... as he showed.

Agree though don't make any transfers until after the midweek games.

he scored their only goal and was only dropped because the injury prevented him from training. I can see him back in the starting line up. Malouda worked hard...but Sturridge is their only real goal scorer atm apart form Lampard.

CAn see Anelka get a euro run out and sturridge back for Wolves

just speculation but that's how I see the situation.
