The EA Sports PPI figures are available and the Fantasy Premier League have updated the game with the bonus points – nice and early. With one game remaining in the gameweek, here’s a simple breakdown of how the points map out…

Everton 2 Wolves 1
Jagielka 3, Baines 2, Hunt 1

Phil Jagielka claims the maximum then – a surprise perhaps, given that Leighton Baines chipped in with an assist and the crucial winner from the spot. The Press Association data may well have recorded some impressive defensive statistics for the centre-back – we’ll look into that further with our Scout article over at the FPL later. As expected, Stephen Hunt sneaked in for the single bonus point here – he saw off Everton’s John Heitinga by just one PPI point.

Stoke 2 QPR 3
Helguson 3, Young 2, Mackie 1

QPR dominate the rankings, with Heidar Helguson recording the highest PPI score of the gameweek with 52. Luke Young’s fine goal has him capture the two bonus, with Jamie Mackie earning the single bonus for his assist – nudging ahead of Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross by just a single PPI point.

Norwich 1 Arsenal 2
Van Persie 3, Gervinho 2, Santos 1

Robin Van Persie again claims the three bonus points – no real surprise there. Gervinho fetches the two, presumably off the back of a string of on target goal attempts that boosted his PPI score. The single bonus point for Andre Santos is an even bigger surprise; the left-back was a full 5 PPI points ahead of Theo Walcott – presumably with a string of impressive PA stats to back it up. Again, this is something we’ll explore further in our Scout article.

Man City 3 Newcastle 1
Richards 3, Aguero 2, Clichy 1

Micah Richards collects the maximum as expected, with Sergio Aguero earning the two for his goal and assist contribution. Gael Clichy’s inclusion, with a single bonus point, is perhaps unexpected; he edged out Mario Balotelli by a single bonus point. We discussed in last night’s ICT analysis how Clichy’s array of defensive stats could see him figure – that appears to have been the factor at play here.

Sunderland 0 Fulham 0
Hangeland & Cattermole 3, O’Shea, Bendtner & Murphy 1

As always with a 0-0 scoreline, the breakdown of EA PPI points in this game was incredibly close. Both Fulham’s Brede Hangeland and Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole shared the maximum by virtue of PPI scores of 16. Three players were just a point behind on 15 – Niclas Bendtner, Danny Murphy and John O’Seah all shared a single bonus point.

West Brom 2 Bolton 1
Shorey 3, Long 2, Thomas 1

We mentioned last night how Nicky Shorey was the most creative player on show in the gameweek according to our ICT Index figures. It seems that his supply from left-back was a factor in sealing t the top PPI score and maximum bonus from this game. Goalscorers Shane Long and Jerome Thomas were left in his wake, picking up the remaining bonus points. Bolton’s Ivan Klasnic missed out by 5 PPI points.

Wigan 3 Blackburn 3
Yakubu 3, Hoilett 2, Caldwell & Crusat 1

Blackburn’s Yakubu was streets ahead in terms of PPI in this game, claiming the three bonus points by a 15 PPI point margin. Team-mate Junior Hoilett can closest to denying him – he collected the two, with the single bonus point being shared by two Wigan scorers – Gary Caldwell and sub Albert Crusat.

Swansea 0 Man United 1
Hernandez 3, Ferdinand 2, Vidic 1

It’s no surprise to see Javier Hernandez top the PPI rankings with his goal at the Liberty stadium proving decisive in Saturday’s game. United’s centre-back pairing ranked next in the PPI list – with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand presumably racking up some impressive defensive statistics to help United to a third consecutive clean sheet. Again, we’ll break this down further in our Scout article later today.

Chelsea 1 Liverpool 2
Johnson 3, Rodriguez 2, Bellamy 1

Glen Johnson acquired an impressive PPI tally of 36 to come out on top in this game by a 7 point margin. Maxi Rodrigquez was his nearest rival, with Craig Bellamy nudging Charlie Adam out of the remaining bonus point by just a single PPI point. Similarly, centre-back pairing Dan Agger and Martin Skrtel, were just a couple of PPI points off bonus recognition in the 2-1 win.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Given – Vorm

Kompany – Jose Enrique – Brown – Ward – Neil Taylor

Silva – Van Der Vaart – Moses – Ramsey – Drenthe

Van Persie – Sturridge – Bendtner

4.5 Million in my bank and 1 free transfer. What to do with Moses?

Keep. No point changing him as he looks like the immediate candidate to be benched from your front 8.

However you could do Moses > Mata and bench Drenthe instead. Hmmmm I don't think I like that move.

Afternoon KOL. It feels great to have a successful WC and more specifically getting those particular calls right as they were the real tough ones.

I stole your Aguero (with the option of Rooney) idea as it seemed like good business, thank you for that.

So you went with Baines over Vermaelen like I advised? Good man.

Yeah. Rooney in GW15 sounds like a plan but at this point I feel like I need a lot more encouragement before then to invest in Rooney or United for that matter.

Walters was the only good thing about my midfield, hopefully VDV adds a little gloss there tonight.

P.S. I made next to zero in value over the international break. That was slightly disappointing.

I'm with you 100% on Rooney he'l need to show goal scoring form before I consider him. I made 0.3 on Naylor Bale and Dzeko. But I already had Naylor so technically was only 0.2 profit which was dissapointing.

    Westwood / (Vorm)
    Baines / Jones / Brown / (Wilkinson) / (NTaylor)
Lampard (vc) / Silva / Bale / Ramsey / (NDyer)
    RVP (c) / Adebayor / Bendtner

I have 1 Free transfer this week, should I swap Ramsey out for a mid for £5m & below and then next week I can do Ade > Hernandez or Bale > Nani to get some Man Utd coverage?

Looking to move out both Sturridge and Ramsey in the next two weeks but can't decide which to do first. Neither is exactly performing FPL pts wise and with ECL and CC games coming up I can see one or both getting rested in the Prem.

Up front it's a toss up between Klasnic (good fixtures, good goal scoring form and has pens) and my R's boy Helguson (great goal scoring form and has pens but poor fixtures after the next two).

In midfield, I'm looking at Lennon or Larsson. Leaning towards Lennon because of his form but having already got VDV and Adebayor am worried it might be overkill. Larsson is due a big game though...

    Thoughts?

Don't disagree with upgrading them, just with the options.

Can't just go on past results - both doing ok for their teams, in reality and FPL, but not pulling up any trees. Sensible candidates for upgrading. Of course, they could always score big: Ramsey cos of fixtures and sturridge cos he's a striker.

          No easy answer of course.

QPR fixtures are awful for me to invest I personally don't like Bolton fixtures.

I would consider Blackburn from GW 14 with SWA, sun, WBA, BOL for a short term differential. Hoilett or MGP could answer both spots.

Other options could be Newcastle in the same time frame. nor, SWA, BOL, bol. Demba or Jonas.

That sounds more sensible to me. Blackburn are nowhere near as bad as is made out eg: Derby.

Ba looks like he may even be worth 7.0 if the points continue to dribble in. Don't be fooled just cause price rises have been missed. Barfa another choice too, maybe.

Make or break for Sunderland in the next few ie: top or bottom 10 form this season? Larsoon is a safe/ solid pick. Could monitor drenthe too, fwiw.

Hi, not sure if this has been discussed on the forum or if there is information of it on the Scout site but African Cup of Nations, when is it? How long for and which players will be going and who amongst the African players in the PL won’t be going at all.

Am I right in thinking Adebayor has retired from international football? It would be good to have a comprehensive list is this something they have done on FFS in previous years?

I'm sure they will but the squads haven't been announced yet as far as I know.

Qualified teams are shown on this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Africa_Cup_of_Nations_qualification#Qualified_teams

The tournament starts on 21st January but teams usually hold a pre-tourney training camp a few weeks before it but based on previous years a number of the star players from the big Premier League teams will only turn up a week or so before the tourney starts.

NB: Adebayor wont be going even though he returned from international retirement last week. Togo didn't make it.

Come on Rooney. I need you to deliver vs. Newc! In hindsight i should have sold him after he missed that penna vs. Chelsea (he hasnt scored since!!) -but just kept thinking he'd nick something given his fixtures werent the worst. Typical Sir Alex though...conceded6 at home, then win 3 games 1-0 in a row.
I'm the only one that has kept him through his barren spell in my league + i need him to return double figures before all the others have a chance to get him back!
Did he have any chances vs. Swansea?

Determined to ruin Drenthe for no particular good reason:

He has been in disciplinary trouble at every club he has played for, and barred/unwillinging to play for all of them at some point in time. Last season the former U21 player of the tournament got relegated.

    Royston Drenthe Career Stats:

Club (season), Games (total including Europe + Cups), Goals(total including Europe+Cups), Assists (total including Europe + Cups):

    Feyenord (05-07): 29 games, 0 goals, 0 assists
    Real Madrid (07-10): 61 games, 4 goals, 4 assists

He's been good for the first season though. That's this season.

Also, I'm sure Royston is aware of his need to deliver and is in the PL to try and address that. This season will define the rest of his career trajectory imo. That's what Moyes has to work with.

There was once a young Dutchman named Van Persie who was considered a trouble-maker/underachiever also but then he came to England when Arsenal 'took a chance' on him. Pretty cr*p now isn't he? 😉

Not saying Drenthe is another RVP but if he can start performing consistently the way he did in that U21 tourney a few years ago he'll be a big fish in a small pond at Everton

true but RVP took time to develop, the problem with Drenthe (other than his personality- he refused to play for real madrid because he was booed!) is that he never has performed consistently well. He had a good tournament, fair play... but that ain't exactly much sign of consistency three years on

i don't believe the feyenoord stats, by guess is assists stats were simply not available for those seasons.
also a starts stat would be useful, finally the hercules stat will do for 6mil, let's say that's 8 goals and 2 assists in 38 games.

      everton: 3 starts, 2 goals, 4 assists

rooney's just had one game since moving back up top and imo he is worth keeping
ade's the one u need to get rid of, he can't respect his playing position and someone here said said something about him acting like a wanna be rooney. i think he was spot on

Cheers lads. I dont think Rooney is back top - anyway, at this rate I think the money can be spent elsewhere, like Aguero, Baines or Lampard after he gets suspended.

Woodgate is obvious though, but budget defenders needs to be really bad before I spend a transfer.

Partially agree with the Ade analysis, but will obviously have to wait to see tonights game. His/our fixtures are a dream until over new year's.
