Liverpool’s Divock Origi is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama have been passed fit for Southampton’s trip to Villa, Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s visit to City, whilst Chris Smalling has overcome a knock in time for United’s FA Cup semi-final with Everton.

Reports in the local press suggest the Divock Origi is ruled out for the season with the ankle injury sustained against Everton in midweek. The Liverpool striker will undergo further scans today to ascertain the likely length of absence.

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Harry Arter and Adam Smith will remain sidelined for the visit of Chelsea. The Bournemouth boss also indicated he will continue to ease Callum Wilson back into action after the striker was afforded a couple of sub appearances following his return from injury.

Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama are available for Southampton’s trip to Villa after recovering from the knocks that forced both off in last week’s draw at Everton. Ronald Koeman has also confirmed that Charlie Austin remains unavailable though is close to returning from a knee problem.

Chris Smalling has shrugged off a knock picked up against Palace on Wednesday night and is available for United’s FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Adnan Januzaj remains unavailable due to a lack of match fitness.

Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s trip to the Etihad with the hamstring injury that forced him off during Monday’s loss at Spurs. Mark Hughes has revealed that Shay Given is likely to keep his place in goal, though Marc Wilson, Glen Johnson and Jon Walters are still sidelined.

Ramiro Funes Mori serves the first of a three-match ban for Everton’s FA Cup semi-final encounter against Man United. Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez also confirmed that Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka and John Stones are set for late assessments, though Seamus Coleman has failed to recover from a hamstring complaint.

Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Sunderland after missing last night’s win over West Brom with a minor back problem.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

He spends too much time worrying about his fpl players and too much time on here to just enjoy the football for what it is and with Ozil (c) over Sanchez (c) he has nothing left to play for this season. Fair play to the guy he knows what he wants in life and fpl was too consuming for him.

The way is see 37 is that there is going to be at least one player who scores around 20 points; it always happens with a double gameweek.

It was plain for all triple captainers to see who it was going to be going into 34 (Sanchez/Aguero). The problem for those who have still got TC, like myself, is that at the moment 37 looks like a minefield and offers no security like 34. A huge element of luck will be involved in selecting the right player. However, should you TC that player the upside will be huge as the captaincy will be more dispersed and I assume there will be less TC being played.

In a couple of weeks time maybe a certain captaincy option will have appeared, but at the moment 37 is shaping up to be a huge high risk reward scenario.

Yeap, facing the same problem. No very appealing option for DGW37 TC candidates.

May wait for Sanchez (TC) vs AVL in GW38

What transfers should I do for this weekend do you think? A -4 hit will get me to 11 players (hit won't be needed if Clichy starts).

    Mignolet - Robles

    Smalling - Bellerin - Simpson - Clichy - Fosu

    Sanchez - Firmino - Coutinho - Lanzini - Iwobi

    Aguero - Lukaku - Kane

Thoughts would be massively appreciated. My initial thoughts are Lanzini + Clichy -> Alli + Van Aanholt/Rose.

    Which scores more this weekend:
    a) Gabriel, Coutinho, Mitrovic
    b) Kane, Alli, Rose (with a minus 8 hit)

I think A could score as little as 2 due to players no starting, whereas B is likely to score around 20.

So people still to use benchboost chip, when are you considering to use it? GW36 OR 37? Good set of fixtures in GW36 and that City vs Arsenal fixture in 37 isn't favourable to use it in 37. Thoughts??

      37. Learnt from 33/34 though, gotta keep the essential SGW'ers and build around that.

At most I will have one Arsenal defender, but them not getting many points in 37 is hopefully offset by weeks 36 and 38.

Isn't it better to bring Watford players in 36 (vs Villa and also having a DGW37) and benchboost and then bench the Arsenal defender in DGW37 to maximize the points?

Not sure really, if you have 8+ dgw'ers I'm sure it favours you to BB in 37.

Someone like Bellerin could even get attacking returns vs City, its not a total write off.

    2. SonOfSteven
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 9 months ago

I used my BB, but I would have no regrets using it in GW37 with likes of Sanchez, Ozil, Bellerin, Kocielny, Monreal and Gabriel (if he's likely to play that game) on the bench. Having them in your team could be essential for the last game, and why not make profit of having them Arsenal players in GW37 as well?

      1. OLEgend
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 9 months ago

But as i already used my wildcard am not looking for a 12-15 DGW and i already own Kos and Gabriel and keeping them as the 36 and 38 matches are perfect for CS potential, so i can use the BB in 36 and bench couple of Watford players who play villa that week rather than wasting the BB 37 as City would most probably score against my Arsenal defenders so i would bench those Arsenal def in 37

I'd say great, if Sturridge gets at least half hour. I have Sturridge so i'm hoping for a start too.

I'm taking 12 point hit for Martial Lukaku Payet Borthwick (Don't ask, was an enabler gamble in case he got a game) to Alli Kane Firminho Walker/Rose, probably Rose. Effectively 6 point hit due to no fixtures for going out)

      1. Big Mac 24

Idea with Firminho is to cover if Sturridge doesn't play, think Firm will either way just more likely to score more if up top.

Also -16 last week to give me 158pts

Sturridge looks like the best option for tc in 37 but to get him I need to

    Firstly ditch Coutinho
Secondly either not get Kane or sell Kane,Kun or Martial for Sturridge at another date

Getting in Kane and say, Defoe is much easier but possibly far less explosive as Defoe might well get the tc in 37

I know we all want Sturridge to be a viable pick because it's Sturridge and he's a proven goal scorer with great fixtures. But let's be frank here he's just not is he.. we KNOW Klopp is rotating heavily because the emphasis is on the EL, and Sturridge is Liverpool's only remaining quality striker. Klopp HAS to keep him fresh for EL. To buy Sturridge is just asking for a non starter.

    Hi all,

Still have my WC available, will play that in before GW36 in order to use TC GW 37. But for this week I currently have 8 players, so have a one-week punt to make:

    DDG* / Henn*
    Rose / Bell / Huth / Cresswell* / Cathcart*
    Ozil / Firm / Nasri / Iwobi / Payet*
    Kun / Martial* / Lukaku

    Thinking of......

    a. Ozil / Payet / Lukaku --> Sanchez / Alli / Kane -8
    b. Payet / Martial / Lukaku --> Alli / Pelle / Kane -8

Which is better? Or something else??

assuming klopp gives no indication as to what's happening with cout, which is the better option?

    A) Coutinho > Alli (-4). gives exactly 11 players including gabriel, sakho, clyne!!

    B) Payet > Alli (-4). 12 players, gamble on coutinho start. however, burns a FT when i want payet back

Looks good! Defoe has to play for me though, maybe over Kosc?

    Lukaku + Coutinho >> Kane + Alli for a -4pts..

Would we need these 2 for the coming DGW?
Worried about Couts gametime and Lukaku form.

Yes I think do it. I might get rid of Cout for a hit but I can't tell whether he will be rested or not

        Thats the problem with Couts..
Everyone wants to hold on to him but his pitch-time is the issue.
