Saturday’s late-afternoon clash finds Arsenal playing host to Norwich City at the Emirates. The Gunners tasted just one victory in their previous quartet of fixtures, while the Canaries will strive to rebound from successive defeats.

Arsenal’s attack has recorded middling stats over their last four outings, ranking ninth for goals (six) and joint-12th for big chances (four). It’s also worth noting that the Gunners place ninth for goals scored in home fixtures (26). On a more positive note, Arsene Wenger’s troops have conceded the second-fewest goals (11) and third-fewest big chances (18) on home soil, underlining their strong clean-sheet potential.

Norwich failed to net in their last two league ties and have struggled to exert their attacking influence away from home this term, ranking joint-third-bottom for goals (13), joint-second-bottom for big chances (12) and third-bottom for shots on target (51). Equally, Arsenal will be buoyed in the knowledge that the Canaries place fourth for goals conceded (33) and joint-top for big chances conceded (40) in road encounters.

      Out. Arsenal are a conservative club, hence why Wenger is still in charge & we always finish 4th. No longer interested in the argument "Things could get worse" most arsenal fans would rather take this risk, because it feels like the club is not progressing

      Just looking at what has happened to Chelsea this season shows how difficult it is to stay in the top 4 season in, season out. So many big clubs (Cheslea, Man United, Liverpool) have not been able to stay near the top for periods of time, Wenger deserves credit for doing this with Arsenal.

      The biggest plus for me is the financial side. He has balanced big signings in Ozil and Sanchez with canny buys like Cech and training up talent through the academy. Too many football clubs spend their way out of trouble or to the top, but Wenger shows real financial responsibility and I think it is good that he wants to leave Arsenal in the black when he leaves.

      He has done more good for the club than most of our fans realise.

    If Mertesacker is out for 2 more weeks i may just save my bench boost for GW 38.. Playing it this week for Sanchez, Bellerin, Gabriel just does not make sense with Manchester City away 🙂

        Reckon the home teams will play their first 11 since it's the last home game.. add the Relegation battlers(Newcastle/Sunderland) and the Europa hopefuls(West Ham etc) and teams set up for GW 37 look good for GW 38 really
