Dugout Discussion

While the footballing community rightly reels from the frankly unfathomable and tragic news of Gary Speed’s passing, the Dugout Discussion opens in more solemn tones in shock at this news…

Our first of two fixtures today is in Wales where, rather perversely now, Speed had been seeming to build a bright future for football in his home country. Whether many of the Welsh players (on both sides) are in the right mind is hard to tell but the fixture of Swansea vs Aston Villa will go ahead as planned. Teams in full are…

Swansea XI: Vorm; Rangel, Monk, Williams, Taylor; Britton, Allen, Gower, Dyer, Sinclair; Graham

Villa XI: Given; Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Warnock; Herd, Delph; N’Zogbia, Heskey, Agbonlahor; Bent.

The Premier League weekend will then finish with the big fixture of the weekend as Kenny Dalglish’s Moneyball squad come up against the Nouveau riches of Manchester City.

RIP Gary Speed.

Guys, sorry for interrupt, but I need some piece of advice. Little RMT, would ya?

Vorm, Ruddy - Simpson, Naylor, Brown, A. Ferdinand, Enrique - Nani, Lampard, Silva, Bale, Moses - Gabby, RVP, Ba.

2 freebies, so should I go for: A. Ferd -> Jones; Fat Frank -> Mata?

    Help me with this one.

I totally agree, he will have been as much a friend to them as a manager, I cant imagine how some of the players will feel having to play a game in the knowledge of what has happened. In all fairness to all concerned it should have been called off. Every fan would have understood.

I really hope this comes across in the spirit it's meant, but if anyone reading this does suffer from feelings of depression, please don't feel like you are alone with it.
