The Euro 2016 semi-finals get up and running this evening as Wales take on Portugal in Lyon at 8pm.

After drawing all three of their Group F fixtures, Portugal squeezed past Croatia in extra-time before seeing off Poland on penalties in the previous round.

Wales, on the other hand, have won four of their five matches, culminating in a stunning 3-1 victory over Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Despite failing to win any of their five matches in 90 minutes, Fernando Santos’ side are regarded as favourites to clinch a place in Sunday’s final against France or Germany.

Certainly, in terms of shot count, Portugal have boasted the greater threat and fired 95 attempts to Wales’ 60, though they’ve failed to take their chances and trail their opponents by six goals to ten.

Ultimately, tonight’s match could come down to the battle between Real Madrid team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

The former has fired more attempts than any player in the tournament, yet has scored just two of his 36 attempts, whilst Bale leads the way for shots on target (14) in Euro 2016 and will be looking to compensate for the loss of the suspended Aaron Ramsey to fire his country into the final.

perhaps 'dumber' was the wrong word to use and I should have used the term 'less informed' instead in regards to the context of fantasy football. though one lad above me in the league is a certified idiot in most contexts and must only still be in a job still due to sheer nepotism.

            but I digress

            it's been a humbling week 🙁

Coming off a 8 goals & 12 assists season in 33 apps. With 28 goals & 22 assists in total these last four seasons (108 apps, 16 subs).

Think 9.0 or 9.5 would be my bet. Pretty sure Di Maria came in at 10.0 & that was off a 4 goals & 17 assists (27 apps, 7 subs) season with RM.

I think he will be at least 10m.

I don't think he deserves anymore than 9m, but if he is going for over £100m I can see his FPL price being extortionate.

What was this utter tosh that was said on ITV after the footy, that rumours were Sissoko would keep his place ahead of Kante, surely not, a performance from Kante will be pivotal to any french success tomorrow I'd say.

I'd say alot more often than not Koscielny would score less than 3 if you repeated tomorrow's game however you'll be hoping he doesn't get up for a towering header as the margins will be greater that way 😛 not easy. Probably stick but for the sake of 1 or 2 points more you might want to take the gamble.

The most Neuer could earn is 6 points plus one for every three saves. If you think he can keep a clean sheet and save more than 6 shots, switch him in. Otherwise, stick with Rui.

Meh. Nothing we could really do about that Nidge.

He wanted assurances of first-team football, and his contract was running down. Could've been a rift with Fergie too. Anyway, Pogba's always spoke well about his time in Manchester. He has a lot of friends at the club still, he was bezzy buds with Lingard iirc.

'IF' he returned, it would be down to the José factor. 🙂 Big players want to play for him.

He wanted a chance to prove himself and even in the midst of an injury crisis in midfield he was playing Rafael and Park ahead of him.. when he brought Scholes out of retirement that was the final straw.. i would have been seriously pissed off too tbf to him.. think he made some unrealistic wage demands though and am behind Fergie in not bowing to those.. for sure he has spoken well and still loves the club that is positive..IF he makes the decision to return i'm sure he would just cruise into Fergies office like an absolute boss lol..

First one looks pretty likely now, reports said talks were to put to a halt a few days back iirc. Then the Kante rumor came up around the same time.

I agree with last one. Juve are clinging to him like no other, & considering the market, that benefits Chelsea way more then Juve. Don't think they'd be able to find a worthwhile replacement who's available, he's the heart of that back three. Hate to come to terms with that 🙁 I had hope, but there are no signs.

Only moved up 14 positions from 135th to 121st with 36 points. Had Ronaldo (c), Patricio, Guierrero, Sanches, Chester and Bale today. Maybe have 8 to play tomorrow though. Chester and Bale will be subbed out and possibly Sanches.

      Value is an abstract notion.

A player is worth what a buying club is willing to pay for him, simple as that.

Also £100m is a lot less to United (and other clubs of its stature) that many other clubs, so you have to think of it in context.

He's an already world class player (IMO) who is only 23.

The fact that Fergie let him go for free is entirely irrelevant. It was an completely different administration and years ago. Everything else held constant in fact, had he not left then, he surely would have left somewhere along the way under the mediocre management we had since Fergie retired.

In my opinion if we buy him, and do a little housekeeping in the rest of the squad replacing some more deadwood, then we go from confident top 4 contender to title contenders.

As for pogba, world class, just entering peak years. Physically, mentally, technically and tactically top shelf. Same goes for mkhitaryan.

As long as the money continues to flow does it matter ? . United will probably have another 100 million to spend in the summer . City wasted 64 million on Otamendi and Mangala and it has in no way altered their policy in the transfer market

What's your strongest combined GER-FRA XI.

    Neuer
    Kimmich/Sagna - Boateng - Hummels - Hector
    Kroos - Pogba
    Ozil - Payet - Greizmann
    Muller

Balance isn't great like haha would probably put a spoiler in for one of the two CM's such as Kante/Matuidi but that's strongest looking on paper ^^

I do like Kosc to be fair, good footballer and reads the game well, maybe feel Hummels is abit more solid though, although haven't seen a massive amount of the guy. Wouldn't argue with that side though!

Hummels is made to look better than he is because of Boateng next to him. Kosc has been made to look average because of Rami and Evra either side of him.

Possibly, although he made his name at Dortmund not sure who his partner was there. But yeh, l've not seen anywhere near as much of Hummels as I have Kosc, and I like Kosc, so I wouldn't particularly argue !

Bit unfair on Hummels here. Hummels makes 'his' CB partners look better next to him, not the other way around. He's been a top 5 CB for years now paired up with worse players than Boateng.

What you see in the Euro's is what you saw at Dortmund week in & week out.

          Bale 😥

started with Bale, switched to Ronaldo and then switched back haha

I think Griezmann is still an interesting captain if Giroud starts, if not there may be too much defensive focus on him..

Cristiano Ronaldo has mustered 122 shots at EURO finals, over twice as many as any other player since 1980.

    And he has another game.
