Man United’s early season attacking form may have dried up dramatically but there’s no denying the Fantasy potential of Javier Hernandez continues to flourish. Three goals in his last four fixtures means the Mexican is the subject of our latest “Talent” article for Members…
The champions started the season on fire, bagging 21 goals in their opening five fixtures but since then, they have found the net just 9 times in the following eight games, scoring more than a single goal on just one occasion. Fantasy managers may have abandoned the likes of Wayne Rooney, Nani and Ashley Young in their droves but Hernandez has maintained a steady progress that has seen him the subject of Fantasy attention.
While never really offering the type of explosive returns that merit the captain’s armband, Hernandez is perhaps the most consistent attacking option at Old Trafford. In terms of starts, his most barren run has been two games without a goal- Wayne Rooney, on the other hand, has failed to find the net in his last six starts and hasn’t scored since gameweek five- Hernandez has netted four times since then and has returned double the number of Fantasy points, 42 to Rooney’s 21.
With a strong run of fixtures for the foreseeable future and form most definitely on his side, we delve into the Opta stats available to Members and analyse our own ICT Index to highlight his recent performances.
