With regards to new rule changes and bonus points midfielders pick up. Who in your opinion is the better Chelsea midfielder to have in your team fabregas or Hazard?
If Hazard plays to his 14/15 standard, no doubt it's him. But Fab, supposedly, has the track record of starting better earlier in the season.
What do you think?
I was thinking more Fab myself. Because like you say hazard 14/15 is a no brainier but he was disappointing last season. Would like to know how many bonus points fab would have gotten in 14/15 season with the new points system
I know Fabo is very appealing due to previous seasons bonus points and what not BUT have a feeling this season he won't do that well. Really don't think Conte fancies him, think Kante and Matic will be the midfield two. Even if he does he will play further forward hence losing alot of passing and tackling bonus points. Where i think Hazard will be the main man again for Chelsea, Conte has even hinted at playing him behind the front man. Really intrigued to see how Chelsea start off tbh.

After many team changes i have came up with these final 2 teams. 2 different formations which is causing me my biggest concern. i know the chosen formation is 3-5-2 with sky sports but i think my 4-4-2 is a lot stronger player wise.

Really like option 2. If being over critical would look at Redmond as thinking he will be rotated due to Europa and Martial as he will also be rotated with Rashford i feel. Also Randolph started instead of Adrian tonight so would keep an eye on that too.

Main concerns are whether Hazard is worth the extra over Fabregas and if Byram is nailed. Am seriously interested in Aina at the same price if he looks like starting the season as first choice.
Have found balancing a solid defense with a good midfield much more challenging this year.
Any thoughts appreciated

Byram the only one i world look at as think West Ham have just signed cover in Santon for that left back position. Ramsey could be brilliant this year but wouldn't pick hin straight away as not sure his gonna start first few games?
Ramsey's positioning is a concern. If he's not central then Cazorla or Xhaka would be the better alternatives I think.
Best defender under 6.5?

Lack of ManU and Chelsea player will harm you when it comes to captaincy options, other than that good team.
I've switched Arnautovic for Shaqiri and Payet for Hazard. I'm struggling to afford a United player who'll be a nailed on starter. Do you think that's a better line-up?
Much better. Look at fitting in Mhiki somehow, his low at 10.5 considering and is nailed. He will provide lots of goals and assists in my opinion and will also cover your captaincy options too.

Like it, just missing a ManU player for captaincy reasons that's all.
Again first time player, not familiar with what is the best strategy as I am not used to the bonus point system but read all the posts on here and went with 352 as seems to be the universally recommended formation.

Unsure if Aina will start, considering Pieters as a potntial change and wondering whether to sacrifice Mkhitarayan for Fabrgas or Payet.

3-5-2 is best bet with sky in my opinion. Would keep an eye on Aina as not a guaranteed starter, otherwise good team. Rooney could be a great differential this year in that No10 role, plenty of goals and assist i think. The only thing i would say is if you have a gut feeling, stick to it.

Tough choice because Noble will be getting tackle bonus galore this season along with pens. Personally however I would go with Ayew as he could be playing up top when/if he goes to West Ham, so think he will be bagging some goals this season.

Really like it, i have 5 of your front 7. Only player i would have a look at is Kabasele as his not been starting the pre season games also a lack of West Ham player for captaincy options.

Liked your first team better, as mentioned to another poster, Pogba is a big risk to start off with. He hasn't kicked a ball all pre season so might take a few games to settle in, just keep an eye on that.
Surely van der hoorn worth a punt now williams has left swansea they have no other cb?
Amat or Van Der Hoorn will start but think Swansea will get a cb in before the window closes.

Would seriously swap your GK as have a feeling Hull will be the whipping boys this season, you just don't wanna end up with negative points plus you get 7 points for a clean sheet this year so would definitely look at that otherwise good balanced team.

Not sure On Gardner, if you can afford it look at Delefou/Redmnd/Townsnd instead. I'm not that sure on Mhiki anymore after not starting yesterday's game, one to keep an eye on definitely.

I was wondering what type of player is likely to gain more points in each position category. Will a super bonus scorer with say limited average appeal from a goalscoring or assist point of view as a midfielder be preferred to an attacking goalscoring midfielder?

Tbh it's really hard to tell because this year we have new rules regarding bonus and scoring. This question will best be answered as the season goes on, which type of players are acquiring the most points.

Yes his tackle stats are second only to Kante last year but not great passing stats. Would look at Delefou for 0.6 extra maybe?

Is it also true that you can have a captain for each game day this season? So you could maybe have 5 or 6 captains a week?!
Yep a different captain for each matchday. Good team really, in sky it's not worth having a premium defence and you can't really go wrong with Foster. Mane should be nailed this season but keep eye on Santi as he might be rotated.
Cazorla if regular starter=GOLD. Managed from 11/15 games(FAB 14/33) last season 5+ passes=33 extra bonus pts with this years changed baps scoring.......
FAB may suffer passing stats wise if he plays further forward than last season(he may well do if HAZ plays in the hole)
Thinking over going with emre can over xhaka , emre 1.4 million cheaper and does the Same job as xhaka . Xhaka got to much compeption in Arsenal squad and Liverpool got no Europe football this year
Xhaka pretty much nailed on for me and should be a baps magnet, some pre-season he was awesome with box to box play..
Can hasn't played any pre season due to Int duties....although he played 30 for LIV last season would have thought he will be a reg also, not the worst pick imo

Can is only 0.4 cheaper than Xhaka, would definitely go for Xhaka instead as think he will get alot of bonus this year and is pretty much nailed.

Enough in the bank to switch Aina for Ward.
Thoughts particularly on Townsend at 8.3. Could stretch to 8.9, so which if any of Xhaka, Noble, Fernandinho or Shaqiri would be better?
Would keep Townsend for now as has good opening fixtures. Dont think Aina will start as Ivanovic is back from injury. Also keep eye on Mhiki too as didn't start yesterday, maybe José just resting him?

Tough one but think i would go for Townsend as who knows what team Pep is gonna play plus he is known to rotate, I had Fernandinho originally but took him out due to this uncertainty.

Silva will start but not sure on KDB as he will not be fully up to fitness. Bold move going with those 3 but your right if they give you 20+ goals then might work for you.

Pogbas a big risk to start of with as he hasn't played a minute of pre season. Your very brave not going with Kun also, plus dont think Aina will be starting as Ivanovic is back from injury. Overall not bad for a firsty but a little bit of tinkering required yet i feel.

Under 6.5 you probably should look at Ward, good opening fixtures plus his pretty nailed for Palace. Yep game is all about risk, who knows what Pogbas gonna do could potentially be amazing. Would only swap Ibra to Lukaku if he moves to Chelsea otherwise Ibra picks Ibra lol.

First you should look at 3-5-2 as your formation as it is proven to generate most points, look at Disables previous posts for an example. Secondly you've gone too heavy on your defence, again not worthwhile in the sky game. Maybe just pick one of VVD or Valencia? Would definitely include a ManU attacker, just for captaincy reasons alone. Think Rooney can be a great differential as a No10 this year. Phillips could be good but baggies don't really score much so not sure on him, you could have a look at Delefou/Redmnd/Townsend for not much more maybe?
