The EA Sports Player Performance Index numbers are out, with the Fantasy Premier League applying them to the game to add the gameweek 14 bonus points. Here’s a match-by-match breakdown of how they map out….

Blackburn 4 Swansea 2
Bonus – Yakubu 3, Samba 2, Givet & Vukcevic 1

It’s no surprise to find four-goal Yakubu leading the way in the PPI stakes from this game. Indeed, the Nigerian recorded the top overall PPI score of the gameweek, with a huge return of 73. Assists and defensive statistics saw both Chris Samba and Gael Givet record big PPI totals, with Simon Vukcevic’s two assist contribution from the bench enough to see him share a single bonus point with Givet. Scott Dann and Jason Lowe were just outside the bonus reckoning as the Blackburn defence racked up some decent numbers in the 4-2 win.

Wigan 0 Arsenal 4
Bonus – Van Persie 3, Arteta 2, Vermaelen 1

Robin Van Persie once again seals the maximum bonus thanks to a goal and a pair of assists in the 4-0 win at Wigan. Once more he’s joined by Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen, who seem regular recipients of bonus in recent weeks. Arteta sneaks ahead of the Belgian by 3 PPI points to claim the 2 bonus here. Gervinho missed out on a share of the single bonus by just one PPI point.

Newcastle 0 Chelsea 3
Bonus – Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Kalou 1

A clean sheet and an array of impressive defensive statistics were enough to see John Terry claim the top PPI score from Chelsea’s 3-0 win. He topped Daniel Sturridge by a clear 10 points, the striker’s efforts off target perhaps contributing to the margin. Salomon Kalou’s goal from the bench saw him nudge past Ramires by a single PPI point to claim the remaining bonus.

Man City 5 Norwich 1
Bonus – Yaya Toure 3, Silva 2, Nasri 1

The PPI rankings looked hard to predict in this game, and so it proved. Yaya Toure’s goal and midfield efforts were enough to have him claim the maximum here, but bonus for David Silva and Samir Nasri both looked unlikely. Nasri edged out fellow goalscorers Adam Johnson and Sergio Aguero to claim the single bonus point, while Silva’s assist and attacking efforts were enough to see him earn the two.

Spurs 3 Bolton 0
Bonus – Defoe 3, Bale 2, Lennon 1

Tottenham’s three goalscorers hogged the top PPI ranks here, with Defoe claiming top spot and the maximum FPL bonus. Gareth Bale trailed by just 4 PPI, while Lennon recorded 11 PPI less than the Welshman but still held off the claims of Luka Modric and Kyle Walker to claim the remaining bonus point.

QPR 1 West Brom 1
Bonus – Long 3, Barton 2, Gabbidon & Young 1

Shane Long’s equaliser helped him to a PPI score of 30, nudging him ahead of QPR’s Joey Barton to fetch the maximum bonus in the Loftus Road stalemate. Those two were streets ahead of the pack, with Daniel Gabbidon and Luke Young sharing a single bonus back on 13 PPI.

Aston Villa 0 Man United 1
Bonus – Jones 3, Nani 2, Vidic & Smalling 1

The deciding goal from Phil Jones, coupled with a clean sheet, unsurprisingly saw him earn the 3 bonus points from United’s win at Villa Park. Nani’s assist and attacking threat fetched him a PPI score of 29, with defenders Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic sharing a return of 20 to split the remaining bonus point.

Wolves 2 Sunderland 1
Bonus – Fletcher 3, Jarvis 2, Richardson 1

Steven Fletcher’s brace turned this game on its head and saw him claim an impressive 55 point PPI return. Matt Jarvis’ assist allowed him to edge ahead of the pack with a PPI of 22 to earn the 2 bonus, with Black Cats’ goalscorer Kieran Richardson fetching the final bonus with a PPI of 21.

Everton 0 Stoke 1
Bonus – Huth 3, Shawcross 2, Crouch, Whelan & Etherington 1

Goalscorer Robert Huth registered a PPI score of 40 to easily claim the maximum FPL bonus from Stoke’s 1-0 win at Goodison. Fellow centre-back Ryan Shawcross put in a strong defensive showing to push himself ahead of a chasing pack; his PPI score of 19 was just enough for him to earn the 2 bonus, with Peter Crouch, Matt Etherington and Glenn Whelan all sharing the remaining bonus point with PPI scores of 17.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Utterly shocked by that.

I was at the game and, by no means upset, but disappointed to see Silva was far from his best on Saturday - his final balls in particular were pretty wayward. Not wholly sure how other didn't best him in the number... but they didn't.

Interesting Andy. I didn't see any footie over the weekend, and had resigned myself to a measly 10 points from Silva after reading the previous article. A very pleasant surprise, the, when the 2 bonus were announced. I am left to ponder what might have been had I had the foresight to play Krul over Vorm. Can't turn my nose up at 92 though, more than I could have dreamed of.

I think Ward will be making way this week. With 5.0 in the bank which do you think....?

    Vidic
    Vermaelen
    Enrique

Defence is: Jones, Kompany, Brown, Ward, Simpson

With only Rooney being United's midfield/attack nailed on starter, I'm thinking of doubling up with Vidic/Jones.

Not a bad time to double up on Man U defenders.

That said, Ward has 2 nice fixtures after this one and I would rather have him than Simpson without Saylor & possible Coloccini.

Picking from the 3 above, I'd go for Vidic.

        I'm giving Drenthe more time:
        Drenthe, Silva, Bale, Walters, Dyer
        Adebayor, Sturridge, RVP

Happy with the front 3 until Winter WC time.

I'll be possibly downgrading Kompany in 2-3 GWs.

I have the same options to choose from however and i've gone for Vermaelen.. defenders go on scorin streaks and then disappear.. if he gives me 2 goals and 2 cleansheets in the next 5 games i'll be happy.. then i'll shift him out

      Skillz.

I'm not sure...bit of a nightmare really. Thinking of dumping Walters for someone, but not much available at that value...same for Hoolahan. Want to do:

      Sturridge>Welbeck/Yakubu/Klasnic but don't feel like that's a necessity.

The best thing for me to do would probably be to save a transfer but we all know how awful I am at being patient haha. Can you suggest anything? Nothing blindingly obvious I don't think!

s taylor to verm for me. Luckily I downgraded VDV to Bale last week so have a bit of spare cahoonage.

I always think with transfers how can I improve on a player...for example Bale scores the same as VDV at the mo, but is much cheaper.

With S taylor...he has to go this week before his price plummets rapidly and who is the best defender I don't own...step forward the Verminator.

To anyone avoiding hits, I have learned a painful lesson the last two weeks.
GW 13. Avoided Rooney to Ade for a hit. Points and value lost.
GW 14. Avoided Ramsey/Eagles to Bale for a hit. Points and value lost again.

Right decisions but too cowardly to go through with them. I'll not be so conservative from now on.

10 BPs thanks to Silva 2, Bale 2 and RVP 3x2.

All finished on 65 points then (thanks to Mr. Allen's cameo off my bench, cheers Royston).

Slightly disappointed as it could have been so much better. 7 of my 11 players got a total of 9 points! 😯

Also very frustrating when all the mini-league rivals have defenders who scored decent points (Vermaelen, Richards, Jones, Stoke and/or other Man Utd defenders).

I might have to invest a bit more back there. The plan is to ship Aguero...

Same cameo here. 64 points, a red arrow and out of the PPC. Got 46 points from VP & Vermaelen. Really need Drenthe to get in or waste a transfer on him (with Allen suspended).

Are you keeping Drenthe & Allen?

    Hi!

I need some advice here….I want to get rid of: Evans, Ramsey and Hernandez. It leaves me with 21,5 to shop for….What will be the best 3 player combo here?

    Current team is:

    Vorm, Rudddy
    Evans, Kompany, Walker, Enrique, Simpson
    Ramsey, Silva, Bale, Mata, Dyer
    Hernandez, Sturridge, Van Persie….

    Thanks for any advice

i dont think you need to do everything at once, i.e. take a point hit, just start with chicharito out. Also helps to know how much cash you have in the bank. But adebayor is a decent starting point.

I totally agree with this... Utd look very solid right now. I think Verm owners could be in for some disappointing 6.8m pounds worth of 2 pointers in the coming weeks.

Hello lads, perhaps someone around here remembers me? Just happy to be back after a long absence. It shows in my squad. But now things have changed at work where I will probably spend hours a day on here. I need to. My team is going rubbish ATM.

So Im wondering about a 4.0 defender, out of Boyata, Monk, Gabbidon, McAuley, Tierney and with the newcastle injuries at the back, Perch. Anyone else I haven't considered? Who do you lads like best out of that lot?

Red flag means the player will not be playing next wk due to reasons of injury/suspension... Player profile usually provides an expected return date and reason for the red flag..

S.Taylor will most likely lose value..

    Enrique - Walker - Simpson - (Orr) - (Wilkinson)
    Bale - Silva - Walters - Moses - (Allen)

    2.0m in bank

    Thinking of the following:

    Team for the coming gw is;

    Vorm
    Enrique Shawcross Brown
    VdV Silva Brunt Sessegnon
    RvP Rooney Sturridge

Subs: Given Ben Arfa Simpson Ward

Team is looking okay and I have two free transfers. Im happy with my frontline. I would do Given to Howard if I could but ive only 0.1 cash. So downgrading someone is probably the wisest transfer to make.

Given shouldnt lose value as hes red flagged right?

VdV to Bale is one transfer I could do... any other suggestions? Thanks!

    All,

    Current team is:

    Krul/Ruddy
    Kompany/Simpson/Enrique/Shawcross/Orr
    Silva/Ramsey/VDV/Dyer/Allen
    Rooney/Adebayor/RVP

    Was thinking of the following:
Allen out – Ben Arfa or Sinclair in

Shawcross is only one booking from suspension so may then put in BAE.

    Then replacing Orr later!

    Any thoughts…….

Baines and Richards to Evra and Vermaelen? free.. gives me a team of
    Vorm
    Evra Vermaelen Jones Enrique
    Silva Bale Sessegnon
    Adebayor Rvp Sturridge

    Krul Walters McAuley Ohara

Ohara rotates perfectly with Sess/Walters and Enrique can be benched for the odd game.. Gives me a 4-3-3 when Ohara at home and a 3-4-3 when ohara and enrique away..

Right need a bit of help, i've done we'll this week 77pts with Enrique to play tonight (would have been better if Larsson hadn't missed that penatly *hand on face*) but now i have a few issues.

    Current team:

    Vorm, Bergovic

Jones, Enrique, Wilkinson, Simpson, J Evans

    Silva, Bale, Larsson, Walters, Allen

    Ade, RVP, Aguero

    Allen - sent off
    Evans - Not playing
    Wilkinson - benched this week
    Bergovic - Not playing

I'm thinking about ditching Aguero this week for either Ba or Wellbeck, then Walters to Mata next week, good moves?

    Or

Do i need to sort my defence out first? i am reluctant to take a hit for defenders though.

    Thanks

Depending on what's in your bank I'd look to ditch Aguero for a cheap striker, they seem to be good value atm (either Sturridge/Ba/Yak) and look to upgrade Evans next gameweek.

If you plan on taking a hit in the next few weeks maybe take it now instead of playing either Simpson/Wilkinson/Evans.....but who knows Evans might get a game this week..........if Begovic starts playing again then you might not have to worry about that problem.
