Nathan Redmond has usurped team-mate Dusan Tadic as part of this morningโ€™s Watchlist refresh.

With the dust settled from the opening dayโ€™s action, weโ€™ve dipped back into the rankings for our daily re-assessment and promoted the former Norwich winger up the midfield standings.

Priced at just 6.0 and deployed as part of a front two by manager Claude Puel, Redmond appears to be our first priority in the mid-price.

The drop for Tadic is harsh. He was outstanding in the 1-1 draw with Watford and produced some performance statistics that suggest he will be a major Fantasy force over the campaign. We will keep monitoring his displays.

But Redmond got his goal and his own numbers were equally impressive: his potential and value is just too strong.

With Puel talking him up at every opportunity, it would be remiss to overlook his appeal at the expense of Tadic and also striker Shane Long.

Southamptonโ€™s fixtures will certainly test Redmondโ€™s output.

Puelโ€™s side must now face trips to Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester. But St Maryโ€™s meetings with Sunderland and Swansea appear to provide the platform for the former Canary to go on producing.

He stacks up behind a cast of heavy-hitting midfielders but may well surpass some of that pack once the Gameweek 1 fixtures are complete.

Today we will be monitoring the performances of Roberto Firmino and Alexis Sanchez in particular.

Further down our list we saw Ross Barkley make positive strides having notched on the opening day once again.

Middlesbroughโ€™s Gaston Ramirez also consolidated his position as our midfield weapon of choice in Aitor Karankaโ€™s ranks.

Weโ€™re also showing patience with Andros Townsend. He demonstrated enough to suggest heโ€™ll be a key goal threat for Crystal Palace and his mid-term fixtures remain favourabe. He holds his position as another mid-price consideration.

Further down, Erik Lamela sneaks in to our reckoning. We will be debating his rank further this week, with Dele Alli already coming under pressure as the key target in Tottenhamโ€™s midfield ahead of their encouraging schedule.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Those looking to bring Carroll in early to beat price rises; if you're waiting until after the game tomorrow, bear in mind West Ham have a Thursday night game in Kazakhstan... long way to travel and he's not particularly robust as history has shown. Three games in six days?

Still got sakho, Valencia, and even our youngster fletcher we got from UTD looked sharp pre season.

But, Ayew could play Thursday up top....

I can't see Bilic taking risks with Andy C, he knows how fragile the big lump is!

Carrol won't play in Kazakhstan. The hammers' squad is big enough that many of the first team will not feature. They may play the second leg at home, though depending on the first leg's result.
Personally, I hope they lose so they can concentrate on the league, but I don't see it happening.

    positives:

To be fair every striker who plays like Gray (right place at the right time sort of player) looks terrible until they score.

Willing to give him at least another chance next week against a Liverpool side who will go at Burnley.

    Morning all,

First off well done to the Scout community. A lot of the players mentioned on these boards the last couple of weeks proved successful (including Capoue!). I've just noticed there was no price changes at all last night. Do we expect changes to be even less frequent than last season?

    1. @FPL_Audit - Romano

dont think they usually change on the first evening anyway. Not to worry, sure it will be similar to previous seasons

Of course it doesn't matter too much. I just remember last season it seemed that price changes were less frequent than previous seasons. Of course the frustration is there is no clear structure to it for anyone to know for sure if a price change is going to happen.

            • 11 Years

Last season price changes were definitely prevalent. Many upsets were getting hit hard with drops, people just weren't rising much. FPLstatistics typically does a great job at predicting the changes in real time.

    3. devils advocate
      • 11 Years

I have a theory that gw1 price changes are deliberately slowed due to many new players still registering late teams for gw2, and allowing them a little extra time to pick a team using the maximum budget allocated.

This is based on nothing more than a wild self made conspiracy theory with little worth or factual substance to back it up. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think the presence of Sanchez(ie the "premium" player at Arsenal) has caused fpl towers to seriously underprice Ozil and Giroud in a way.Quite shocked at their prices tbh and Giroud has already been pencilled in as my Costa replacement in a few weeks. You'd expect both of em to be priced at 10+ for the kind of returns they can and have produced

Actually the reverse for me. I tried to put Van Dijk in to play instead of Naughton. I was annoyed that the site crashed just as I was saving my first 11. It actually went through in the end so I had VVD's 1 point! Typical.

I still think it was a disaster that the site was playing up for the last 20 mins before deadline. It's a new site this year yet they just don't get the basics right. Just make sure people can change their team up to a deadline! That's all I care about! Rant over.

Can see doing Vardy โžก Kane this week.

Arsenal defense will be stronger next GW and Kane has lovely fixtures.

The other dilemma is to keep or sell Gray for a hit. Not really sure.

What moves are you thinking of?

        No chance imo.

Janssen only to come as a sub.

No manger would push back his lead striker who's scored 40 odd goals in 2 seasons.

Who's doing the Kane + Alli/Lamela double up?

Many will say that they were poor yesterday but that was against a Koeman defense and was the first game of the season (low fitness).

        Fixtures look amazing - CRY,LIV,sto,SUN,mid

Lots of points to be had there I think.

        Everton are good defensively.

Won't be the same against Palace. And, a London derby where Kane always does well.

Didn't Everton have one of the worst home defensive records last season?

I know Koeman is good but he's no miracle worker. I think it's more plausible to think Spurs and Kane had an off day rather than Everton are now a defensive force.

    Gray yesterday...

9 touches in the box (4th highest of any player yesterday)
4 shots in the box (joint second highest)

    On pens

At home vs a ropey Liverpool defence next

Probably enough to give him at least one more chance if you own him.

At 6.5 you can't expect a goal a game, sadly...

that was only to get an idea of what Wilson looked like in his blank.
The main reason was for getting Gray's stats from yesterday.
Only my opinion tbh, and stats can be misread, will be happy to admit am wrong in a few weeks if i am.

I wouldn't use the comparison tool as a means of getting one players stats. I just look at the game stats and can view each players individual stats there. Numb listed some great stats there. 1/4 on target is too small a sample size to be considered significant.

I know there were a lot of problems with access to the FPL site due to lack of server capacity, but anyone else have this problem?

Logged on fine, made two transfers well before 11.30, transfers confirmed and new players showed on screen - but when the game updated I still had the old players.

Pretty annoying, as I still have Bolasie and Smith when I should have Ramirez and Amat. Surely they can trace this fault?

I also had this strategy albeit with 1.0 mil to Kane. A lot of people are suggesting give Vardy another shot - he had a handful of clear chances and on another day could have had 2 or 3 goals. However I am slightly more discouraged seeing as he isn't on pens.

For you it could mostly depend on Ibra's performance tonight.

It's not warranted either. I didn't do amazingly (40pts overnight) but I'm still relatively satisfied, may even save a transfer.

40pts in half a gw is very good.

I just think some expect too much tbf.

I'm gonna save my transfer until next week then make a shrewd double. Bit gutted VVD didn't keep a clean or and Vardy I'll give one more week.
