All of last season, between two clubs, two divisions and a respectable 2300 minutes of football, Yakubu managed to net only 12 times. This term, before we’ve even reached the half-way stage, “the Yak” has delivered 9 in the league, one in the cup and sits above the likes of Wayne Rooney, Emmanuel Adebayor and Mario Balotelli in the chase for the Golden Boot.

Blackburn may not have taken advantage of his resurgence in form, in terms of their league position, but we sure did, courtesy of a return on “a goal and Blackburn to win” at 5/2 in last week’s “Flutter”.

Winnings in hand, we stride through Paddy Power’s doors once again to see what prices they have to offer for another gameweek…

First up, we’re sniffing around Liverpool’s Jose Enrique at home to Queens Park Rangers. Although he’s had a three match lull in terms of Fantasy points, the Spaniard is up against a side that has been slowly drifting toward mediocrity after an explosive start to the season. Enrique to assist and score is up for grabs, but with a cleanie very much on the cards, we’ll take that and no booking at 11/10 for £5 of our stake this week.

Next up is Chris Eagles. For a bargain midfielder, he’s accrued a respectable 59 Fantasy Premier League points this campaign so far, featuring heavily in Bolton’s flip-flop form. Paddy favour Villa, even as the visitors here, offering some longer prices with a goal and assist at 14/1. We’ve seen Eagles deliver this twice before this season, so this is a worthy punt for a £1.

Nani has drifted out of many Fantasy line-ups in recent weeks, echoing United’s recent lull in attacking terms. However, the winger has still managed to impress whilst his team-mates struggle to find a goalscoring rhythm – particularly in the midweek Champions League defeat, where Nani looked a major threat. Paddy have Nani to score and perform a back-flip at 9/2 to take our quid this week; they’ve also priced up a less acrobatic goal and assist at 5/1.

Having displayed potent goalscoring potential at West Ham, Demba Ba has really come alive this year in the wake of Newcastle’s summer sales. Calm in front of goal, he nets with his head, left and right boot, and from the penalty spot, with confidence. A one pound stake at 12/1 on Ba to score twice or more against an obliging Norwich defence is well justified, given that he’s already bagged two hat-tricks this season.

Our final market of the week is “Who will score the most goals”, featuring Wayne Rooney at 10/11, Robin van Persie at 13/8 and West Brom’s Shane Long at 3/1. Most weeks we’d look to the Flying Dutchman for goals, but with Rooney’s World Cup ban lightened to lift his spirits, we’ll go with Granville’s ScoutCast heavy-hitter for the last £1 left of our tenner; more for bragging rights rather than hard cash.

Just a reminder, if you missed Thursday’s “Paddy Says”, detailing the bookies view on clean sheets, goals and anytime scorers, you can soak it up right here.

Paddy’s Money Back Specials

Paddy have a host of refund offers on show for the weekend. They start at the Stadium of Light for Martin O’Neill’s first match in charge. If O’Neill witnesses four or more goals in the match, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles. Paddy are also paying back all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the Stoke vs Totttenham clash, if Peter Crouch nets against his old club.

Down at Stamford Bridge, Paddy are risking refunds if there’s a last gasp goal. If a goal is scored in the last five minutes of the Chelsea vs City clash they will again refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Without regard to price, who is more likely to start for Man U over the next several games - Smalling or Evans? Also, does Jones have a better chance than both of them?

Honestly I think it's a toss up. I would give a small edge to Smalling because I think he's better but I don't know if Mr Alex agrees... Jones has a better chance because he can play more positions but he will likely get rested at some point

Would appreciate some help guys, currently sitting second in my mini league and top of my H2H.

Already made 2 transfers this week; Given and Rooney > Vorm and Ba.

Question is should I take a hit and remove Kompany for Jones?

    Team is currently :

    Vorm
Enrique Simpson Taylor (Kompany) (De Laet)
    VdV Sinclair Silva Moses (Surman)
    RVP Ba Adebayor

Think I should just toss a coin to decide...

Need some advice guys. 1 free transfer. Wildcard available. 0 in the bank. My team:

    Given, Ruddy

    Baines, Jones, Ntaylor

    Sinclair, VDV, Silva, Ramsey

    RVP, Adebayor, Bendtner

    Subs: Moses, Simpson, Ward

I would really like to ship out Bendtner. He's been crap, and is an injury doubt as well. Ideal replacement is Ba, but then I'd need to downgrade Ramsey as well for a hit. Also it would leave me with Ruddy in goal as well as the injured Given. Basically:

    Given - Vorm/Foster?
    vs
Ramsey, Bendtner - Ba, 6.0 mid. Or just Bendtner - Yak? Thoughts?

I would say incline to say yes, it's worth the hit. Had got Bendtner in a few weeks ago myself and he has done nothing. There is good strikers out there for reasonable prices - Yakubu, Long, Ba, even Morrison for Norwich. The cheaper the striker the better the midfielder you can afford.

I'd go Yakubu and Larsson in for Drenthe and Bendtner

Nice to see that the scouts agree that Manure away is a favourable fixture for Wolves, either that or they're too lazy to update the watchlist.

Right guys, wasn't going t post as i've received helpful comments last two days on my possible moves, but just this one last time before i pull the trigger, is this wise?

    Hernandez > Long
    &
Ramsey > Nani (or walters to nani?)

    help appreciated guys, thanks.

i can yes, easily, i just really fancy long to knock more past wigan than ba past morwich, but i guess i would only keep long for the one wigan game, and if wigan show up i'll be left in the gutter so to speak, ba and nani the much better option?
i know it is, i'll just kick myself if long does a yakubu this GW.

also doing these two moves would involve a 4 point hit, so better to switch ramsey or walters out for nani? i jsut want nani as well thats all.

Team is done and ready for the weekend.
Playing 4 at the back as midfield bench options not great but got 1.9m in bank for next week.

    Vorm
    Simpson, Vermaelen, Kompany, Enrique,
    Silva, Bale, Walters,
    RVP, Ba, Adebayor

Westwood (not tim), Drenthe, Jagielka, Formica

    Vorm (Given)
    Simpson Enrique BAE (Brown Kompany)
    Dyer Silva VDV Walters (Drenthe)
    RVP(C) Ba(v) Adebayor

Used my FT, 3.2 in bank. Still not happy with team. Any of these worth a hit until the Jan WC?

    Brown--->Evans
    Kompany--->Jones
    Drenthe--->Brunt

I want to do VDV + Drenthe--->Bale and Mata (-4) for GW16 so cant do Brown---->Smalling or Jones.

I'm debating the same move although mine would be for a hit...

I'd defs do it if I had another FT, Man U *should* get plenty of cleanies in their next few fixtures...

Both will probably play with Bale, Drenthe and Bendtner all doubtful though.
