Hot on the heels of the Fifth Round results, I bring you the fixtures for the last 16 of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. With just eight match-ups to look at this time, it’s clear to see that the competition is reaching it’s conclusion. So without further ado, here are the all important fixtures…

  1. Back to Back Ballacks Vs. gooner dave
  2. DRP Vs. Animons
  3. Manif Vs. tippman
  4. Roger Vs. DaFoe22
  5. Ann_der_roo Vs. User
  6. sandgrounder Vs. Anorak
  7. BigRig Vs. Dksbananas
  8. DollyDaisy Vs. RJBroughton

The first fixture sees 3,297th in the world gooner dave taking on Back to Back Ballacks, who sits 85,623rd. Plenty of differentials in this one, with just six identical players. Despite the gulf in overall rank, it’s actually Back to Back Ballacks who has the greater squad value, so this tie is very difficult to call. Tevez could be the difference.

Next up, we have a closely-matched tie, as DRP (sitting on 665 points) takes on Animons (on 664 points). That point lead effectively gives DRP a half-point advantage going into the game, provided he doesn’t make another transfer.

Then we see tournament-outsider Manif, who is the lowest ranked manager left in the competition (despite moving up over 400k places since before round one), taking on tippman, who of course beat Mark in the very first round.

Last week’s top-scorer Roger (1,851st overall), has been drawn against DaFoe22 (6,028th overall). Once again the lower-ranked contender has the, albeit slight, team value advantage. An unusual tactic from Roger, sees him looking for the clean sheets that cost. With Petr Cech setting you back £6.7m, Ashley Cole £8.3m, Nemanja Vidic £7.4m and Leighton Baines£7.0m (with Seamus Coleman there to double up on Everton defenders), good defensive returns could be enough to see Roger through to the quarter-finals.

Round three top-scorer, and highest ranked manager in the competition, Ann_der_roo (44th in the world) takes on 13,266th in the world, User.

Spurs-fan Anorak will have his loyalties tested when he takes on sandgrounder, as Rafael Van der Vaart looks to be a key differential for the latter. On the flip-side, Liverpool-fan sandgrounder will have his loyalties tested when he takes on Anorak, as Paul Konchesky looks to be a key differential for the latter.

The penultimate tie of the round pits BigRig against Dksbananas. Both will be looking to show their bouncebackability and end the week with not only a quarter-final place, but also a green arrow.

Last, but by no means least, is DollyDaisy‘s game against RJBroughton. Both men sit locked together on 667 points, but it’s DollyDaisy’s superior midfield of Cesc Fabregas, Tim Cahill, Rafael Van der Vaart, Mikel Arteta and Matthew Etherington, to RJBroughton’s midfield of Clint Dempsey, Luis Nani, Gareth Bale, Mikel Arteta and Karl Henry, that will be the key difference for me.

So that’s that, all fixtures will be played out over Gameweek 13, and I’ll bring you the results early next week, before the live quarter-final draw on next podcast. As always, the top-scorer for the round will earn a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

[All previous results can be viewed right here.]

Real tough captaincy decision this week.

Narrowed it down to 3: Drogs, Malouda, Tevez.

Drogs seems the obvious choice as he's on pens and set pieces but he is still ill and may play rubbish or may not play the whole game.

Malouda has scored more points in home games than Drogba so far this season but he isn't on pens and has gone off the boil.

Tevez looks good as if Man City do well he is always at the heart of it. However they don't score that many goals and he may get rested after two games in quick succession after injury.

I agree with Drogba. I need to go for one of the other 2 though (slipping behind in mini-league and others always captain him).

        Malouda or Tevez?

On Tevez atm ;p Pretty torn.
Drogba/Malouda/Zhirkov seem to share corners. Drogs freekicks.
Tevez is on corners and pens but maybe less likely to run riot. Argh!

Heitinga and Rodwell back in contention for Everton http://tinyurl.com/3xadrss

does this cement Colemans absence from the starting XI. Dropped Jagielka for Coleman last week.

Really hope Rodwell starts but against Arsenal I can see Heitenga playing DM. The other option of course is to play Neville at DM with Coleman at RB and Bily or Rodwell on the right..... less likely but you never know with Moyes.

Either way, I think Coleman will play. When you bought him you knew there would come a time when he dropped to the bench, so you cant really complain if he doesnt play however.

Scores a goal and is dropped 2 days later??.. brought back on in the last 30 mins when everton needed to score.. it looks to me like the boy just needed some rest and the rest just shows how important he is.. it's just everyone gettin paranoid cause he seems too good to be true at the price

Chamakh seeing as he is under threat from RVP and Bendtner. I still reckon Bale is the more likely to have a stormer this week. You'd be pretty sick if he scored 18 points and he was on your bench

just browsing the fixtures and realized I dont know when im going to play dann again. already benched him midweek, certainly benched for the weekend, then a home game vs chelsea next week, then on the road at fulham.

looking at 4.6 or less options, i at first thought alcaraz would be a nice addition, but wigans fixtures arent much better. i came across clark from villa. cant say i know anything about him except it appears he is an OOP defender. It looks like he came on during a rash of villa injuries, but already has a 3 bp game under his belt so he must be playing rather well.

Is this guy worth a punt, is he guaranteed to lose his spot in the near future, someone inform me about this guy.

Young Irish defender (played for England under 19s I think, but he's going to play for Ireland) currently filling in at defensive midfield.

Imagine Nigel Reo-Coker, but 10 years younger.
I'm yet to see him take a shot, but he can't be a worse shot than Nige can he?

Decent bp potential, but little else.
Would be good for clean sheets were it not for tricky fixtures.

By the time fixtures clear up, he'll probably be out of the team.

      Verdict. No thank-you.

Really hard to know, i reckon i might just take a punt this week anyway. If he doesn't satrt he will probably get soem mintues and the alternatives are PJones (who i would get rid of for him), or Elmo - who will be benched. Can't see either of them getting a cleanie so i won't lose alot of Kolarov doesn't start - and he will undoubtedly be a starter within the next couple of weeks anyway

I did Alex for Kol an hour ago. He's gonna be a regualar soon and Birmingham would be a soft match to start him.

Villa fixtures don't look too good either though until gw 17. I started off ok with cheapie defenders but am suffering for it now. I'm looking at strengthening the back 4 over next gw or so. Also getting rid of Dann for Vidic next gw. Can't you up the anti a bit and poor money at the back?

I have thought about waiting 2 weeks and doing elmander/dann out, konchesky/piqiuonne or odemwingie in. Other than elmader though, I have too much allegiance to my non-defenders, maybe brunt/dann out, konch/albrigton or ferguson in?

Wow those are really tough decisions.

I'd flip a coin between Piquionne and Adam.

    Captain Tevez or Malouda.

My run of luck as so far depicted whoever I bench does best. If Piquionne sits out - he will score 1+

      No definitely no.

You need at least one of Drogba and Malouda. Chelsea will score a hatful soon.

Malouda > VdV could be a good move though.

        Playing devils advocate.

Ditch Drogs, keep Malouda for Chelsea coverage.

Tevez is good for 1 goal a game, same as Bent last year.
        Torres - scoring at moment
