A typically disciplined Burnley performance nullifies Watford’s recent attacking verve and earns a precious three points at Turf Moor. Here’s the Stock Check after Monday brought the curtain down on Gameweek 6.

On the Rise

Tom Heaton
A second clean sheet of the season promoted Heaton back to the top of the FPL keeper rankings on 27 points.

Priced at 4.6, Heaton goes on confirming his value in well-drilled Burnley defence that, at Turf Moor at least, should go on generating shut-outs.

Michael Keane
Arriving in the Premier League with a reputation as a threat from set-pieces, tonight Keane delivered his first Premier League strike.

Five goals during Burnley’s promotion season flagged up his goal threat and saw him claim a 5.0 initial price in the FPL. While that has since fallen to 4.9, we’ll need to see more from Keane to warrant that outlay with Heaton an option in goal.

Steven Defour
If we ever go knocking for a Burnley midfield with 6.0 to spend then Defour will be our go-to option.

Clearly a class act, the Belgian has registered three assists a goal and six bonus points in his Burnley tenure so far. He is, however, still to complete 90 minutes.

In Decline

Jose Holebas
We were grateful to see him fit to claim his starting role at left wing-back but this was not an enjoyable evening for the Greek.

Pinned back in the first-half by a determined Clarets, Holebas was forced into a traditional left-back role with Walter Mazzarri’s tactical changes as the Hornets chased the game.

More significantly, he earned a fourth booking of the season and is now just a single yellow away from a one-match suspension. After suffering defeat in the EFL Cup, they also don’t have the option of allowing him to absorb any suspension outside of Premier League action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    How were Capoue and Deeney?
    Repeat question from yesterday.
    Pick one to bench:

    A. Deeney
    B. Lallana
    C. Capoue
    D. Tadic

    Firmino already playing.

help - good to go or make a move?

    Pickford
    Coleman Holebas
Sanchez (c) Firmino Payet Capoue Snodgrass
    Lukaku Rashford Aguero

    Heaton Shaw Kelly Kingsly

    0 in bank, 1 FT

play AAO and save the transfer? play kelly? or transfer shaw out and bench the snod?

    Thanks!

that's what I'm thinking. can stomach the price drops/rises as barring injury I don't want to change any of my front 8 anyway so just me defence to sort out

all out attack I would rather save, but benching capoue or snoddy with home games against poor defensive teams looks too good to pass up

If you've decided about no Ibra then it's g2g!

If you really wanted to I'd just sort the benching headache out now and take 1 of Capoue/Snod out. You won't get AOA every week

capoue is coming out as soon as his price starts to drop, he'll be replaced by a 4.5 on my bench to free up funds- for now though I'm happy to ride him out

may still bench him, but cherries at home.... so inviting

Anybody else not understand the Rashford appeal?

His underlying stats are as good playing 90 minutes as it is 45. He is a fantastic impact sub but can he keep up 90 minutes of high quality week in and week out? That remains to be seen.

And after Stoke 3 of the next 5 games are pretty tough so I wouldn't be expecting him to return a lot after that game.

His value also isn't that great for somebody under 10m.

    1. PvA
      • 9 Years

He is a risk. People are taking the risk that he will play. He is a good player but if you're high in the ranks right now I wouldn't take the risk. Stick with Ibra. Old is gold

The comparison isn't Rashford v Ibrahimovic though; you either have to be comparing Rashford + 4.6m or you compare Rashford to other forwards that are less than 7m.

    2. Sp0rting

People think that Kun and Ibra are too expensive to own both so Ibra goes and Rashford becomes MUN "cover".

Yes "cover" is a strange idea to me. Man City & Liverpool will outscore Man Utd by 20-30 goals at the very least this season, give me 2 of their players each and forget the overpriced Man Utd players.

if he was 8.5 nobody would be on him - but 6.8 (which I got him for) for a regular starter in attack for man united is insane - I got him for two good home fixtures and will assess after the international break

lots of good options to move him to - defoe, deeny, ighalo, austin, negrado etc...

and he covers zlatan and means you can have sanchez and lukaku - arsenal have no centre forward currently so sanchez, lukaku, rashford and aguero give you attacking cover in all four of those teams

he's obviously not as good an option as zlatan long term... but zlatan plus a 5.5/6m mid or rashford plus sanchez is a no brainer for me

  8. Rhinos

    Klopp was excellent on MNF,
most interesting things he said were
    A) Firmino has the most intense job of the forwards because has to cover opposition players either side of him
    B) Doesn't matter what position players take up as long as they get forward
    C) Full backs are midfielders now. It's not important how they defend one on ones because shouldn't be put in that scenario. Midfielders should help them

Also went into detail about defending set pieces saying Liverpool not the biggest side so have to find other ways solve the problem.

In conclusion a Liverpool mid is a must imo and would also love Clyne

Better to get someone else than Firmino then maybe, because the other mids get more free space.

I'm holding for now, but if he doesn't look I'll be transferring him out most likely. Seems pointless to keep him when the game back from injury is away to City. That's two games I'll be missing a premium defender returns.

I can get a decent playing defender for GW7 and 8 (and onwards) who will outscore Baines' 2 points. Will be worth the hit.

Squad starting to look creaky but still have that WC in hand:

    Foster
    Valencia, Williams, Stones
    Özil, Firm, Snod, Capoue
    Kun, Ibra, Lukaku

    Jak, Friend, Amat, Leko

    Anything worth 1FT + 0.9m ITB?

I'd hold, if anybody can pick apart the Burnley defense it's Ozil so I think he might be the best Arsenal player to own for this week.

Snoddy has a tough game but he's a long term pick.

Capoue is risky to start but you knew that anyway. You need to know which of Ibra/Lukaku to downgrade and then use funds to upgrade Capoue.

Benteke. Keep or Punt on someone?

For some reason, i keep looking at Callum Wilson. That said, Benteke has a plum fixture with West Ham next week and Pardiola is on one of his runs..

Finally a fellow Wilson appreciator- I opted for Wilson over Benteke based on fixtures. I needed the money to upgrade lamela to Walcott.
Fixture wise Wilson is far superior to Benteke and rashford.
For me it was between Defoe and Wilson and I compared stats in members area and Wilson and Bournemouth came out on top. Never mentioned here so Hoping he will be nice differential

The underlying stats are unbelieveable and sooner or later he will score again. At Old Trafford United looks solid and Stoke's defence and keeper-troubles looks tasty for Zlatan.

Honest question how many players from your teams are you expecting to get injured after the international break? Is it also a risk because of how late some players come back?

Reasons for me to captain Aguero this GW, despite having Ibra

      1) He is Kun
      2) Main rivals my league do not have Ibra anymore, so having him is differential enough
      3) City plays after United --> can enjoy the match as rivals and I will get same points 🙂

Or shall I captain Ibra and go for the kill?

I have Antonio and I am very reluctantly keeping him this week, but ONLY this week. I'm a great believer in having players who, if at all possible, are playing in teams with good form. The whole demeanour of the Hammers is very negative atm. I think at his price, Payet is underachieving. By all means keep him for one week, but ship for one of the many midfielders in good form if he fails to impress.
