Anyone considering downgrading Capoue to a cheaper option? I could do with the cash. I mean, he's forever rotting on my bench, I don't see myself benching Deeney for him.

And his dream run may finally be over...

Just did the change, Capoue to Hojberg - used the money to upgrade, Rashford to Deeney, Mustafi to Koscielny and Francis to Smith.

I was never going to play him so dumped him

I nearly cashed in on him for my WC 2 GW's ago.

BUT, I knew full well I could sneak extra price rises out of him and at that point his form showed no signs of slowing. Will keep now until 2nd WC

Absolutely! , If he's resigned to always be a sub then no point in tying up those funds when you can get a 4.4/4.5 guaranteed starter. Money is def better spent in your 11!

Why? He has the same amount of points than Leroy Fer.

For 11.5m he needs to be scoring 25 plus goals.

      1. Demí
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

How many does Aguero need to be scoring then, costing 13m? Bare in mind Zlatan will nip in with assists too.

        1. rozzo
          • 12 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

          Slightly more than 25!

The difference is I can see Aguero getting that. Zlatan not so much. I got Costa for 2 mil cheaper than Zlatan and he is currently doing better,

Aguero is always an injury waiting to happen. If that occurs and Zlatan is getting points then it's an easy transfer to make.

            • 10 Years

Costa is the reason Zlatan is not such a great pick. While Aguero is n.1, Lukaku and Costa are pretty much up there with Ibra, so owning them for so much less is smarter imo.

With such a small sample size that is a stupid statement. Leroy Fer is also outscoring

        Hazard
        Payet
        Mane
        Ozil
        Alli
        Tadic

As for the goals I think he'll score 20+ goals this season so he stays for me

        1. RustyBz
          • 10 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

it's not a great statement, but his point that your money tied in the 11.5M+ player could have been better invested elsewhere over these 7 weeks is valid.

        2. rozzo
          • 12 Years

He is not currently offering value for money. Once he does, which he will at some point, it will give us none owners a problem but I haven't missed him these past few weeks. I value the points I have got in the last few weeks not the points I might get in a months time.

Just read post about price drpo/rise in case of Ibra or other players who lost their rise and back to oryginal price. Someone post that there is no worry that he will fall more than 0.1 ant because of that all Ibra, Hazard ect owners can wait but we forget about one simple thing - not only Ibra/Haz etc. drop is important but the rise of players that we want to get in their place too.

      1. Clump

This is also true. You simply have to think whether you'll want those players back again in a few weeks.
I'd rather a FT than, say, 0.2 profit.

Toughs on Allen as 4. mid for few weeks?

Concidering this, so that I can bring Bellerin in. Then as soon as I can reorganise my team Ill be able to swap Allen or my 5. Mid (Carrick) for a better option.

Stoke got good fixtures, and if Allen continue to play nr. 10 role, he will keep gwtting returns?

For long term mayby. But it is a difficult one cause you have to do it soon if you are gonna afford it.

Your 3 players are all gonna lose value and the other 3 are gonna rise. That´s 0,6 value diff...

I took a - 8 to get De Bruyne in a couple of weeks ago as part of a long term plan. He repaid my faith with a haul and then got injured the same match. Long term would be a fine prospect if injuries and form didn't exist. I'm wary about taking hits for long term goals now.

Do you have a limit to how many hits you take per season? or do you take any?

Took a -8 myself so far, last season I took over -40 but I might try no hits from now till season end..

Still really undecided about what moves to make:
        A) Valencia, Antonio & Ibra to Bellerin, Sanchez & Austin (-4)
        B) Antonio & Ibra to Sanchez & Benteke

        Notes:
        - B would mean sticking with Valencia and not having an easy way to get an Arsenal defender.
        - Wouldn't mind keeping Antonio a bit longer but my midfield is: Sterling, Antonio, Firmino, Snodgrass, Capoue - so no one else can make way really.

I was planning on playing my WC this week... was.. now im looking at my team thinking id make maybe 4 or 5 changes, most of which would be bench players... So im thinking maybe im wasting it and could wait until I really need it thats not to say once the internationals start i will have a few injured that could force it but as it stands 2 ft's looks fine to get a decent 11 out... team below pre ft's

        Jaku Pickford

The Ibra conundrum. Anybody else having trouble deciding what to do?

What to do with a player like Ibra? Currently on 11.5m and 105085 transfers out this GW, so due a price fall, quite conceivably of 0.3m, bringing TV down. However, his underlying stats are great and could have (and should have) had a hat-trick against Stoke. Also, he is Ibrahimovic so can score at any time. Adding to this, he is very well owned so any sudden conversion of underlying stats sends 40%+ mangers soaring in rank.

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts, especially Jonty as a fellow Ibra owner, as I am going crazy here wondering what to do!

As people were explaining above, the way the price system works means he is only going to drop 0.1 this break. I have him and am keeping. I know he isn't exactly proving he's worth 11.5 now, but I think he will over the course of the season.

Really? How come? I thought that 0.3 was the maximum he could drop in a GW. ( Sorry - I can't find the comments above.)

The comments might be on the last page, sorry. Basically it's sonething to the effect that it becomes harder for players to drop once they reach their starting value again, 11.5 in Ibra's case. Same can be seen with Hazard who was plummeting down but has now slowed.

I am absolutely tearing my hair out.

Goals are coming for him, I'm certain. But it's literally the choice between Ibra and Capoue or Benteke/Wilson and someone like Firmino.

It's a really tough, and season defining decision. At the moment I'm leaning towards selling, but his stats are indicative of someone who is going to get a big haul sooner rather than later

Yeah, but the alternates to Ibra will yield points too - you can always get him back when he is cheaper and with better fixtures

What are the alternates? Already have Kun & Tekkers.

Costa - silly to draft in when on 4 yellows. Is an injury and/or red card waiting to happen.
Lukkaku - against MCI next and fixtures not that great after that. Burnley will stiffle.
              Leave 4m+ in the bank
              take a -4

Ibra could turn it on against a leaky Liverpool. I can see a 3-4 score here. Plus he has no International matches.

This is why it is so hard. I'm a Man U fan and watched the absolute annihilation of Stoke, but we came away with 1pt!
Ibra could have scored 3+ and can see us, based on that performance, putting some past Liverpool.

I have no sentimental attachment to Utd players as a fan - we have been dire the last few seasons, and I shipped out Shaw last week for Koscielny 🙂 - but Ibra is Ibra, with great underlying stats.

Please keep holding on to him. It is doing wonders for my rank and if he does score a goal my other forwards will.....well simply match or score more so more rank climbing. So keep him. Please. If he starts actually performing to his value I will get him in.

More Ibra war cry happening I see. Keeping because of x,y,z. Point is he is not worth the money atm, Man U hardly look attacking and other options are scoring more for far less money. The statement it is Ibra and he will eventually start scoring is becoming a bit boring now. If he does prove his value then I will buy at 10.5 after all his owners have shipped the big plank of wood.

Don't own Ibra, but United hardly look attacking is wrong. He had 6 shots, 4 on target vs Stoke. United had 24 altogether. Should've won by 2/3 goals

Should have, would have, could have. At the end of the day he is not scoring. That is the only stat I need. No point having loads of shots on target if you don't score. I am not looking at just the Stoke game when I say they don't look attacking. A pub team would look very attacking against Stoke.

He will eventually match the stats he's getting with goals and points. The question is about how long it takes and whether Liverpool and Chelsea are a good start for that. Probably not.

                1. Worzel Gummidge
                    9 years, 3 months ago

Exactly. I am not saying he is a bad pick. I am saying he is one now. Until he actually starts scoring what is the point in holding on to him. He needs to start outscoring other forwards (in my case Costa) by a considerable margin to prove his worth. He isn't atm. If he scores holders will be like haha at sellers whereas he still needs to outscore your alternative forward and the extra money spent elsewhere. That is a big task even for a legend such as Ibra.

This. Saying that it is not important that a player of his qualitiy is getting a lot of shots inside the box is just crazy. He will score, a he will get point hauls, but at the moment for most people it is a choice of Ibra or Sanchez and this choice is (at least for now) obvious. But Ibra will get points, and a lot of them.

I'm not an Ibra owner but this is the sort of argument people were making about selling Aguero just before gameweek 8 last year.

Comparing Aguero to Ibra? A guy who has consistently proven his worth to a guy that isn't and still yet to show his?

If 400 career goals isn't consistently proving his worth I'm not sure what is.

Different league is the obvious comeback with additional years. Still pointless IMO.

Its not as if England or English Champions League teams have proved a particular obstacle to him in the past though is it?

Does anybody know any sites that have info/stats for international teams for playing the Daily Fantasy games. Predicted line ups, set piece takers and anything else more detailed etc?

                                    Good move or not, lads?

Ibra, Capoue, Fer > Stuani, Son, Firminho for -8?

Would be good if I didn't see Stuani in the mix.

I wouldn't do them for free (I know not possible just making a point) let alone a -8..

just dreadful, probably wouldn't make a profit even without the -8 hit
