After seven Gameweeks of 2016/17 – which included five away fixtures – Liverpool are sitting pretty in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are just two points off the summit, having chalked up wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester, in addition to a draw on the road at Tottenham.

A Gameweek 2 loss at Burnley – where they produced 26 attempts on goal to their hosts’ three in a 2-0 defeat – has been the one temporary blip for the red half of Merseyside.

It’s fair to say that the Reds’ midfield has been fundamental to their displays – all but one of their 18 goals have arrived from the centre of the park.

From a Fantasy Premier League perspective, though, pinpointing the optimum Liverpool player in any given Gameweek has proven a near-impossible task.

Five of Klopp’s players – James Milner, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane – have scored at least three times.

As a result, that quintet are all placed in the top 11 midfielders in FPL, with Milner – despite his stint at left-back – benefitting from spot-kick duties four times already.

With time to pause and assess during the international break, we delve into both the team and player data as Liverpool prepare for a schedule that looks ripe for significant investment.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Who to replace Mata with?
    A) Coutinho/Firmino
    B) Walcott
    C) Son

    Have Mane and Sanchez already.

    Choose one:

    A) Walcott (SWA, MID, sun)
    (Arsenal double up)

    B) Sterling (EVE, SOT, wba)
    (City double up)

Plan is to change this player to Liverpool mid for GW11 onwards.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

My plans this week hinge on whether I want to sell Antonio or not.

Surely it's too early to get rid of him? He's blanked twice but his stats are good and he has the fixtures. Hopping from bandwagon to bandwagon week in week out is a recipe for disaster...

Is there any real reason to think Antonio is going to stop getting returns?

I think Payet is going to take majority of the points from now if they get any. Also if Dann is back I can't see many headed goals being scored by Antonio.

Middlesbrough at home was a great game for him to pick up some fantasy points. I'm not sure it's a good thing Antonio is playing as the striker, if that continues. He's better getting into the box unmarked.

Agree, I think midfielders playing oop as strikers is overrated here. Unless they actually happen to be good strikers too it's just making them do something they're not as effective at.

If teams have him sussed then surely that would show in a drop off in underlying stats? I mean usually figuring someone out means you prevent them from getting opportunities more than preventing them from converting, no?

Think I'm getting rid. Gonna want to replace him soon enough and will probably use the funds needed for Walcott/Son elsewhere if not getting him now, which means you cannot afford more expensive players but rather Lallana or cheaper going forward

Nowhere near as many under the radar picks this year as the same time last season. I remember players like Vardy, Ighalo, Ozil, Gomes, Toby, Mata, Pelle did well and were largely unnoticed up until GW8, but there doesn't seem to be many like that now.

Lukaku and Capoue to Walcott Callum Wilson for a couple of weeks?? Yes or no?

Lukaku has mcy, bur, WHM che, hardly promising from a goals point of view. Walcott on the other hand is also on form in a free scoring team and has SWA MID sun TOT.

Wlsion would be be the makeweight instead of Capoue and has HUL TOT mid SUN.

      My other players are

      Heaton Grant
      Jagielka Valencia PVA Mcauley Evans.
      Sanchez Firminho Lallana Antonio
      Aguero Rashford

I'll probably play AOA if I make those moves, and address my defence next week. (Valencia and Evans out) McAuley has horrible fixtures by I have made 0.3 on him and am keeping for the long run.

Wouldn't sell Lukaku unless I had to. Expect him to break the 20 goal barrier this season. Scored from a free kick this week, on penalties when Baines is out (and possibly when he's back).

Plus the teams you mentioned have hardly been impenetrable this year.

I've just checked the stats to see if I'm being swayed by what I've seen. Of the 3 he's taken at Goodison Park, he's missed 2 and the one he scored was pretty unconvincing. That's clearly why I have that impression of him.

His overall record is scored 9, missed 4.

What are Valencia owners doing? Surely the time to sell given returns so far and failure to keep clean sheets in back-to-back home games vs Leicester and Stoke (both teams deserved to score as well imo).

Personally, i'm looking to find a replacement in the 4.5 range but the options aren't looking great (my other defenders are Koscielny, Baines, Holebas, Amat). Stoke and Hull have the fixtures but are 2 of the worst defences going atm, whereas the likes of Burnley are looking ok defensively but have some tricky games coming up. Any suggestions?

This was my thoughts weighing up Stoke/Hull. Stoke historically are usually quite decent whereas Hull have pretty much always been whipping boys. Do you think they will turn it round, or is it a product of Hughes' management?

Walker 4 in 7, they just kept one in the hardest fixture on paper so no reason to doubt them with fixtures, they are just a solid unit.

Arsenal sorting themselves out now Mustafi is in the team with 3 in 7 and you'd have to expect at least 3 in the next 4 or 5 with 3 homes games in 4.

    Zlatan & Lallana > Defoe & Sanchez (-4)?

Would be a 2 week punt before transferring back.

    Already have Firmino and Walcott

Is masuaku and Sterling to mustafi/kosc and son worth a hit???

I am getting masuaku out no matter what and if I don't do these transfers I will get vert/holebas/smith for him so it's basically kosc/mustafi vs vertonghen/holebas/smith and Son vs sterling.

Worth a hit if Sterling is injured. If not just get Vertonghen. I wouldn't sell Sterling for free with his fixtures never mind a -4.

depends on the situation. but if I can upgrade Masuaku to Kosc/Mustafi, and I've got City cover, I'd forego Sterling. If I didn't have any City cover then I wouldn't get rid of Sterling.

+ Son in his current form is a worthy replacement

2 FT. 0.2 in the bank. Biggest issues to solve?

          Pickford - Jaku
          Koscielny - Coleman - Lovren - Evans - Holebas
          Sanchez - Sterling - Antonio - Chadli - Fletcher
          Aguero - Lukaku - Deeney

Not too sure about Coleman and Jakupovic. Chadli has tough fixtures but fine form, Antonio the opposite so I am considering my options. Sterling has a knock but am also open to transfering him out.

Thanks! But I'd rather have a TOT defender than Lloris or a 3d Arsenal mid instead of a GK. Tempted to keep Coleman with Burnley and also West Ham and the Swans coming up.

I can see why you'd want to keep Coleman. he has ben getting in really attacking positions. could've had a goal and an assist last time around.

Exactly, it's just that my defensive fixtures are bad this week and AoA with Fletcher is not an option. Koeman also has two weeks to work on defensive shape etc so I'm sticking with him for now.

True. And Iwobi and Snodgrass provide good options for less money and allow me to upgrade somewhere else. But he looks like a player who is having fun and has something to prove so I'm not too sure about transfering him out.

            Foster, jak
            Kosc, Williams, friend, Collins, Amat
            Sanchez, firmino, sterling, redmond, capoue
            Kun, lukaku, tekkers

Not a lot of options to be fair. I had Redmond from the start but he was so disappointing to own. Giving him one last chance seems right, even if Iwobi and Snodgrass both have decent fixtures also. I'd also consider playing AoA with that defence.

Got the luxury problem of having 2 FT and don't know what to do with it! Current team:

            Pick Jaku
            Coleman Walker Holebas Amat MKelly
            Alexis Capoue Snoddy Firmino Payet
            Lukaku Deeney Kun

2 FT and 0,0m in bank. Would you do:

            A. Jaku to Grant (free up 0,1m and have 2 playing goalkeepers for now)

With the International break now upon us, bringing misery for football fans everywhere (yours truly included), I wondered what the England team would actually look like if it was made up of the best-scoring English FPL players.

Here's how it looks (assuming 4-4-2)...

              Heaton

              Walker
              Keane
              Gibson
              A. Smith

              Sterling
              Milner
              Antonio
              Walcott

              Defoe
              Deeney

I don't think it's too bad actually? What do you reckon?!

Sorely missed the scoutcast this week.

Anyone know of another decent FPL show to watch, please?
