Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce the launch of the 13th instalment of our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

This time around there will be more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

For UK entrants that take part in the Cup, FanDuel is also offering a £10 free credit added to their account when they play their first game.

This is in addition to another exclusive offer for this weekend only, where the first 300 new FanDuel customers who register before Midday on Saturday will get £5 bonus credit added to their account, with no deposit required.

Sign up to our latest Cup competition via the entry form here to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark and our reigning champion Leon Harris in our Cup hall of fame.

If you’re new to all this, read on for a FAQ on the competitions.

How do the cup competitions work?

The FanDuel sponsored FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11, with the first round running in Gameweek 12.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to Monday November 7, when we’ll stop entry.

The first round will consist of 1024 teams and, as usual, all the competition’s previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 11. FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

Previous winners must enter to be included.

How do I enter?

Enter the FanDuel sponsored FFS Cup via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only confirmed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.

This confirmation email will also contain FanDuel’s promo code for UK entrants to access their £10 credit.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number or your Gameweek History URL in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round cups will be published shortly after Gameweek 11 has concluded and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

This cup competition will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

Note that some Gameweeks are skipped due to tight turnaround times.

Better option and why? Please help!

      A) Wilson

      B) Austin

I can bench Austin against City & Chelsea as Snoddy is my 5th mid.

      Appreciate your thoughts!

Both good options. Austins fixtures are rough though, I'd go for Wilson

I can bench Austin for his 2 tough fixtures does that make him a better option for long term as he has better fixtures till GW19?

Brought in Austin as doing the same with Snoddy as 5th mid. Better long term choice, plays in a better side and would put ceiling higher than Wilsons. Slight rotation risk but positives outweigh the gamble.

Even I feel Austin has a slight advantage as he plays for the better team and he has scored 18 goals for a team that was being relegated so he's a proven PL asset. We can bench him for Snoddy for the tough fixtures as Snoddy has some juicy ones too.

That is a great point re scoring 18 goals for QPR.

Was put off myself due to the strength of fixtures but you make a good point.

        He's my capt this week.

Last international break, I captained him, with Lukaku (17) as my vice and Capoue (13) first sub. He made a 1 point Cameo. I'm still bitter now, would be 29 points better off.

So you'll count anything to make yourself feel worse? He was always going to play, so stop crying over the Capoue points. And FYI, Lukaku was horrendous the first couple of GWs and captaining him was arguably more risky than captaining Sanchez.

I am too and I won't captain him unless Wenger gives a very clear steer.

I will probably choose between Walcott and Payet myself. Although captaining Aguero in GW8 is a bit of a tradition round here.

I think Wenger was pretty noncommital about him, same as he was last time when he was rested in the subsequent game.

          Hoping it won't happen again!

But the uncertainty has pushed me toward an in form (and relatively unfancied) Diego Costa for the armband

Was thinking Valencia and Antonio to Bellerin and Snodgrass or getting Walcott and PVA/Stoke defender?

        Foster - Pickford
        Valencia - Williams - Evans - Holebas - Amat
        Sanchez - Sterling - Firmino - Antonio - Capoue

City and 'Pool top the season ticker for clean sheets over the next 5. Spurs are 2nd bottom, Arsenals don't look so good after the next 2 homes. Think Clyne and Stones can match or even beat the North London teams defenders over the next month or so?

Which Stoke defender is best out of Pieters or Cameron? Any Stoke fans out there to make a recommendation - is Cameron nailed? Seems better on the ICT index that's now on FPL, but is he a utility man, OoP atm, who is rotatable?

No reason to make your defence weaker by selling Williams

I would sort your keepers out

                      Antonio & Jaku ➡ Son/Arnie & Foster/Heaton

I've chosen to keep Antonio - he was one of my potential candidates for removal to get more Arsenal cover in

His stats are really good, Carroll and Cressers coming back into the team too - I reckon they'll sort it out. You'd not normally drop him if his next two were cpl SUN.

But I can also see why you might remove him, too! Wally is an armband candidate this week.

              Do what your instinct says...

For sure, I'm getting an Arsenal defender instead, but Wally would be my second choice to come in! I just want to get Son or Alli eventually, I think Sanchez + Mustafi is enough for them 🙂

Am I mad to be considering buying Bony over Deeney? Feel as if to do well in FPL you need at least one non-template player, and Deeney seems to be in a lot of teams right now. Bony has great fixtures and should be nailed.

Because if that player explodes, you're likely to shoot up the rankings. If you're not already occupying a high rank, it makes sense to have one such player imo.

Bony looks like a man who's on the way down the ladder - you want hungry players who are keen to do well for their team. Bony is keen on his £nK per week. In short, I might not be recommending Mr Bony.

Great fixtures and nailed, as you say.

Not mad at all - an informed punt, he does have a history of 10+ goals in that one season with Swansea (it wasn't actually that impressive if you look back at his history, actually, lol) so he can score goals in a team like Stoke's. Plus Shaqiri and Arnie whipping in crosses for him might make him a rival to Tekkers in the "scores cos they're always crossing to him" category.

              Go for it!

            A) De Roon

            B) Højbjerg

            C) Whelan

Yeah, you just want your man to be coming home with 2 points every week, so A seems the best option

I have Darren Fletcher myself. Absolutely nailed for 2-3 points in case of injury.

I really like Tekkers. I think he's in a category with Costa where he'll always get chances in games to get goals. He was very decent for Villa in an awful team in terms of scoring in any game against any opposition, and I think he'll get better service as the focal point at Palace.

Austin and Wilson are decent - Wilson for mid term fixtures, Austin for the next one against his old club - but I think Tekkers is just a better quality option here for the long run as a relatively fixture proof forward.

                Ty!
Like ur thoughts. Austin (form and ok fixtures, and can be good longterm) and Wilson (fixtures and ok form, dont believe he will be more than decent all season) would be for short term, would be evaluated every game, and would probably get out of my team in 4-5 games when I have had the time to reorganise my squad a little.

Benteke in form, got ok fixtures and can be great longterm.

                Bellerin I really want.

The only think I dont like is to get rid of Lukaku, who I think will be scoring 20 goals + this season. But his fixtures are bad, and can always get him back in a few games

Haha, yes, this week is really not easy. Bad fixture for most defenders, and Arsenal defenders look really good. A lot of good cheap options up top. Lukaku got bad fixtures.

Cant find any better options. Was thinking Chadli/Antonio to Allen for a while, but Allen got injured.

Arghhh, not easy. Lukaku is always capable of trolling.
Im sure he will score big if I get rid, but will blank if I keep.

I had a similar trade-off! For me, the candidates were Antonio, Lukaku and Lovren to go out alongside Williams so I could afford to get my Arsenal defender in

Keeping Antonio for now - dropped 0.1, but he has cpl SUN as his next two, so he is fine at least until I accrue 2fts again

Kaku is in form, and I can see Everton turning up and doing well v City - can wait and see with him but didn't want to remove

So that left me with Lovren, in a Liverpool team not really keeping CSes. I'll probably get a cheapie Stoke def with good fixtures in for him with Mustafi in for Williams - best move in the long run

Ideally I'd have Bellerin, though! I'm 0.5 off, sadly.

We think a lot like. Sadly for me dropping Lovren for a decent 4,5 defender won't get me an Arsenal defender for Coleman. And I won't be taking -4.

Leaves me with dropping Lukaku, or drop getting an Arsenal defender.

Multiple bookmakers have suspended betting on Antonio Conte leaving Chelsea. #CFC

"I'm told Antonio Conte is not currently in danger of being sacked by Chelsea, despite some bookies suspending betting on it."

Doesn't say anything about being hit by a round from a Russian sniper rifle though.

Thoughts on Shaqiri or Arnautovic as a 4th midfielder given Stoke's fixtures?

Id like to see some form first before jumping on. Best to be a couple of weeks late than 3 months early.

Well said. Trying to get rid of Redmond as my 4th mid and not sure who to turn to just yet.

Id be looking at Snodgrass around that sort of price.

Cheers, he's very much on the shortlist. But with a likely max of 7.2m to play with, there isn't much going...

Going to wait and see with Stoke as part of the front 7, but I'm getting Pieters in this week probably to gamble on shut outs throughout their run

Oh the magic of the FFS.

Where it seems the scouts normally win. Bit iffy if you ask me.

Jonty won it before he was on staff. I won it year before last - I was flying at the time though. Won't happen again.
