The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

This upcoming weekend sees the Paddy Power Cup V enter a manic three-week period, where 128 fantasy managers will be whittled down to a final eight entering the New Year. That’s a long way away though, and those still in the competition will be eager just to see this week’s fixtures – which can be viewed right here

Our last-remaining former-champ, Ninja_fit_saints, will have to overcome a huge gulf in class if he is to avoid going the way of his fellow past winners. His opponent, Mayhey Kid, has over 100 points more than Ninja_fit_saints and will go into the tie as heavy favourite.

Also fancying his chances this week will be Mark, who stands over 50 points ahead of his fourth round competition, Hassyg.

Last week’s top-scorer Cabaroota Beach queens has drawn s4petah, and will be confident on building on his third round momentum and progressing at s4petah’s expense.

If you’re looking for a ‘glamour-tie’ of the round, then EasyLuckyFree versus Der-Hammer95 is surely a contender. Two recognisable names going head-to-head for a place in the last 64.

With just one ‘off-day’ between Gameweek 16 and 17, I’ll endeavour to bring you both the fourth round results and the fifth round fixtures on Monday, but be warned(!)… you may not have much time to scout your opponent should you be fortunate enough to make it through this week. Good luck.

Last season in the league, Arsenal didn't concede a goal to Man City, with a 0-0 Draw at home, and a 0-3 win at home..gimme some hope!

I would. Spurs can't afford his wages and Chelsea wouldn't sell to a team they are competing with for a CL place. AVB was pretty clear that he's not for sale, but if Torres wants to leave i can only see him going back to Spain, maybe Barcelona with Villa out.

He has a very good chance if he's given a chance. Imagine him feeding off a midfield of Romeu, Essien, Ramires, Mata. He's just under pressure to do something everytime he plays, if he doesn't he knows he'll be dropped.

I think he has an actual case for some of it to be fair to him, he's been instantly ridiculed both by media and the public for getting a couple of things wrong in a tricky situation.

If he keeps it up it will probably annoy me too but as it stands I really like him.

I like him, especially with some brave tactical decisions - but its very easy for managers to get into the "world is out to get us" groove and seeing people being miserable despite having one of the best jobs in the world (and being well paid for it), annoys me.

Scraping the bottom of the barrell here but Vuckevic or Formica?
Vuckevic has better returns, Formicas ICT stats are a bit better. Only watch Blackburn on MOTD so haven't got see either play much. Any thoughts about who is the better pick?

Spent a while yesterday rooting their stats out and comparing them to MGP. Not much in it between MGP and Formica, though obviously with set pieces etc MGP just about justifies his extra cost. Between Formica and Vukcevic, although Formica has better stats if they were both 5.0 I'd probably pick Vukcevic, they're not though so might pick the cheaper Formica.

I bet that hasnt helped 😛

Can't quite afford MGP so he's out anyway.
Formica seems to be more of the Adam type with his stats whereas Vuckevic there's just not enough of a sample of data to make any generalisations about yet.

Well thats just it, he hasnt played enough to make a stats based decision on - I do think he has potential though, but I am making the decision based on price. So its probably Formica.

Not really sure why you are so intent on getting in Blackburn players, surely Yakubu would be better than them both though? Or Hoilett? But, from those options, I'd go Formica for sure.

I know what you're saying, I just still feel it's a player you're so unlikely to ever want to play at that price anyway that I'd rather go with the relative security Swansea at least offers in home games. Gower is probably my favourite as the 5th midfielder atm.

Samba and Formica in for Steve Taylor and Nathan Dyer this week

Nathan Dyer and Jose Enrique in for Formica and Samba.

Samba is probably the most interesting Blackburn player for me. Oh and I'd probably get Gower rather than Dyer when you do the return swap, more central player with less rotation risk who is cheaper.

Not sure I would go for either at the moment. Depends on what formation you want to play - if you play 5 mids each week then bring in Walters as a long term player. If you play 4 then down grade your 5th player to fit in the likes of Bale, Arteta, Adam etc with a cheap defence and 1 big hitter and two budgets up front.

It will be to get rid of Ramsey and leave me with:
        Silva Nani Larsson/Walters Pilkington Dyer

Yeah - bit weak, but have a bit of money locked up in defence and up forward.

Got some great ideas from the deadzone troops. Thought I'll get your views as well 🙂

My plan looking ahead to the DGW:

    Vorm
    JE JE Simpson
    Nani Silva Bale Sinclair
    RVP Studge Ba
    Subs – Moses Brown Wilko
0 FT 4.0 Bank WC available

    Which route would you suggest?

    Plan A
    GW16: Sinclair > Mata (for a hit)
    GW17:
    GW18/19: Silva > Drenthe/Rodwell/Fellaini; Ba > Ade
GW20: Wilko > Walker (keeping Wilko for GW19 against Wigan)

    Plan B
    GW16:
    GW17: Sinclair > Drenthe/Rodwell/Fellaini
    GW18:
    GW19: Ba > Ade
GW20: Wilko > Walker (keeping Wilko for GW19 against Wigan)

Both plans have one extra FT for injuries/surprises. I guess it boils down to Mata vs Silva, but in plan A I use up my surplus cash earlier.

Thoughts? Any transfer suggestions much appreciated.

Wilko is out injured isn't he? Transfers look solid, would think about McAuley out for Shotton, WBA have terrible fixtures after this GW, and he could be a bargain.

I like Plan A, and then do Wilko (If still injured) or McAuley to Shotton GW 18/19.

I don't like either because I don't rate Drenthe/Rodwell/Felliani's chances of scoring points.

I would consider the following as options for the DGW:

      Baines, Jagielka, Saha, Cahill
      BAE, Walker, VdV, Bale, Adebayor

On that basis I'd rather Ba -> Saha then Sinclair to those others.
Also Nani -> VdV in GW20 could be a good option as United's fixtures dry up then compared to City (so keep Silva).

I don't know who the double JE's are 🙁 but I'd try get Baines in the backline with that extra cash, and do Nani/Silva to VdV (or Cahill and bring Adebayor for Ba - not sure if you have the cash, you can check?)

Used to be a good option, but now that Everton aren't as good going forward or defending, complete waste of money. On pens and free kicks but you can't rely on them, assists are his bread and butter but nobody is converting his crosses, and the odd CS comes his way but there are cheaper routes into the Everton defence, and for that matter, other defences. So, for me, I'm out.

Hi, I have no idea what to do this week. Especially in defence. Quite tempted to play Jags over Walker, but have a feeling that Walker might do well despite a rejuvinated Sunderland. Not sure that VORM is the best choice either this week, plus it seems wrong to play him against my captain. I could also replace O'hara with Ramsey. Anyway, I'm rambling....here's my team,

    Vorm (Ruddy)

Verminator | Jones | Walker | Raylor (Jags)

    Nani | Silva | O'hara (Dyer | Ramsey)

    Ba (c) | RVP | Ade

    used my FT already.

I think you will be fine with the 2 Arsenal players. That's plenty cover for them. Arteta isn't much of a points getter either. Mostly passes that build up the attacks. I think City will kick on from the Chelsea defeat and Yaya will play every week. Although he hasn't been getting much points I can see him starting to do well.
