It’s a quandary that has been rattling around the brains of Fantasy managers for the last week or so. With cut-price forwards offering decent returns, many Fantasy managers are reshaping their midfields ahead of a hectic Christmas period.

Nani, Rafael Van der Vaart and Juan Mata have been the chief protagonists for differing reasons. The United man’s 18-point haul against Wolves has many juggling budgets and looking to squeeze him in. Van der Vaart’s hamstring has seen plenty jumping ship and Mata’s consistency and flourishing form within a revived Chelsea team is starting to attract plenty suitors.

All three have a favourable run of fixtures on the horizon between now and the end of gameweek 20, when plans can be revised as the festive wildcard comes into play. Question is, then, is one, two or even all three the way to go?

    Because it's all guess work. Noone has a clue what will happen and Adebayor at home to Sunderland could easily outscore Ba. As could Nani, Rooney or Sturrudge.

    sturridge both have same recent form (last 5 games) 3 goals, 2 assists. Ba playing against Vorm , Sturridge playing against Wigan, Studge playing for a better team against much weaker opposition, I haven't even gone into the Ade sit'n. Its just a matter of choice and opinion;

  Before two superb home fixtures? Not worth it imo. If you were to ask me which one will score more points over the next two I'd say Ba, but that's a different question. Despite last week, I'm quite glad I brought Yakubu in; it's allowed me to do Eagles -> Mata this week, leaving me with a midfield of Nani, Silva, Mata, Bale, Moses. So I guess it depends whether you can use the money or transfer elsewhere (which is probably likely).

      I think they changed it up late in the game to create more. Bale and Walker played wing back with Kaboul, Gallas and Bassong in the middle, but with Kaboul getting a red card and suspension, there's not much choice left in the CB department I think.

  I'd say it'll depend on whether Sunderland play with a lone striker (likely). It wouldn't make sense to play 3 at the back vs. a lone striker as there'd be one CB to mark, one on the cover and one doing not a lot. If Sunderland go two up then there's a possibility.

      Yes, like the one we've just had. 10pts from players worth almost Ł30m. I know that spreading the risk will also reduce your chance of scoring very high in a single gameweek, but proves to be a good tactics to defend your position long term.

My (C) options for this week: RVP, Sturridge, Ba, Bale, Nani, Silva. I know this question has been already asked a thousand times, but I think it's on of these gameweeks, when captain choice can make a huge difference because of RVP tough away fixture etc.

I was thinking of giving the armband to Sturridge, but since then brought Ba and Nani in. Sturridge looked very lively in his last 5 games, scored regularly, though at the same time Wigan finally got to winning ways, so this may not be as easy for Chelsea as many think. Ba on the other side is good in the air and knows how to show his physical presence. A similar type of player that caused Swansea so many troubles the last time they played away from home (YAK).

Now I have your attention what are people's thought's on him? Top of the watchlist and with 2 seemingly comfortable home games but Everton are a pillar of inconsistancy right now. I'm thinking of swapping him for Jones a) because Jones has 2 away games and b) he's a better differential than Jones + set pieces

Does anyone think William Gallas will be a main stay in the Spurs team? He's played 90 minutes of the last two games, one with Younes Kaboul alongside him. Seems to me that he could force his way into the team, Kaboul also banned for the next match. £4.8m, could also nab a goal. Any of you guys reckon he'll be playing all the time from now?
