Daniel Sturridge toils as Liverpool’s lone striker against Manchester United. Gylfi Sigurdsson is fielded as a “false nine” for Bob Bradley’s first match in charge of Swansea, while a change to 3-4-3 sees Michail Antonio utilised as a wing-back for West Ham’s trip to Palace.

After assessing the first ten sides in yesterday’s article, here’s the lowdown on the remaining team sheets.

Liverpool

Starting XI: Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner (Moreno 86), Can, Henderson, Coutinho, Mane, Sturridge (Lallana 60), Firmino (Origi 85).

  • Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was forced into making two alterations for the home clash against Man United, with Emre Can coming in for the injured Georginio Wijnaldum, while Adam Lallana was only fit enough to start from the bench, so Daniel Sturridge was handed a recall.
  • Can started in central midfield alongside Philippe Coutinho in Klopp’s favoured 4-3-3 system, with Jordan Henderson occupying the defensive midfield role. Sturridge operated as the central striker, meaning Roberto Firmino shifted over to the left of the front three.
  • With Sturridge largely ineffective for the home side, Klopp decided to take the forward off on the hour mark, with Lallana entering the fray. That change saw Firmino take over as the “false nine”, with Coutinho replacing his compatriot on the left, while Lallana took up his usual position in central midfield. Klopp introduced Divock Origi and Alberto Moreno in straight swaps in the final minutes.
  • After getting through 30 minutes last night, Lallana should be fit to start against West Brom on Saturday. His return would allow Coutinho to move back onto the left, with Firmino starting as the “false nine”. But if Wijnaldum is still out, Klopp may consider dropping Emre Can against the Baggies, which would allow either Sturridge or Origi to start in attack. That scenario would mean Coutinho playing in a deeper role once again, though.

Risk Areas: Central Midfield, Left Wing, Central Striker

Man United

Starting XI: De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Fellaini, Pogba, Rashford (Rooney 77), Ander Herrera, Young (Shaw 90), Ibrahimovic.

  • Jose Mourinho made two changes from the side that drew 1-1 against Stoke City for the trip to Anfield, with Marouane Fellaini and Ashley Young coming in for Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
  • Fellaini partnered Ander Herrera at the base of midfield in Mourinho’s standard 4-2-3-1 formation, allowing Paul Pogba to push forward into the number ten role. Young slotted in on the left of the attacking midfield trio.
  • With Marcus Rashford tiring, Mourinho decided to replace the youngster with Wayne Rooney in a straight swap with 13 minutes remaining. Luke Shaw came on during stoppage time to take over from Young on the left wing.
  • After a strong defensive performance, and with an equally difficult trip to Chelsea up next, Mourinho may approach Sunday’s match in a similar manner, meaning Young could keep his place in the side. The likes of Lingard and, to a lesser extent, Mata are viable alternatives, though. After impressive showings in midfield, Herrera and Fellaini may keep their starting berths, so Rooney will more than likely have to settle for a place on the bench once more. Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial missed out last night after picking up injuries in training. They’ll both be assessed ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge, although it’s unlikely either player will start given they’ve been peripheral figures over the last few weeks.

Risk Areas: Wings

Southampton

Starting XI: Forster; Martina, Fonte, Van Dijk, Targett (McQueen 14); Romeu, Clasie; Redmond (Ward-Prowse 88), Tadic, Davis; Austin (Rodriguez 70).

  • Southampton boss Claude Puel made three changes for the home clash against Burnley, with Jordy Clasie earning a recall in place of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Cuco Martina and Matt Targett came in for the injured Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand.
  • Martina and Targett slotted in at right-back and left-back respectively, while Clasie played on the right of the midfield three in the 4-3-3 formation.
  • Targett, who had been a doubt pre-match due to a knock, only lasted 14 minutes though due to a hamstring problem, and was replaced by youngster Sam McQueen in a straight swap. With Saints racing into a 3-0 lead, Charlie Austin was withdrawn with 20 minutes remaining, replaced by Jay Rodriguez. Puel’s final substitution saw James Ward-Prowse get a few minutes at the death in place of Nathan Redmond.
  • Puel’s selection in the full-back positions against Manchester City on Sunday will depend on who he has available. McQueen may have to start at the Etihad should Bertrand and Targett be ruled out, while Martina could keep his place in the starting XI if Soares remains unavailable. Clasie and Hojbjerg continue to share starts in midfield, so Puel’s selection against Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday night ay provide some clues as to who will get the nod on the weekend.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Full-Backs, Central Midfield

Stoke City

Starting XI: Grant; Pieters, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Bardsley (Adam 65); Cameron, Whelan; Arnautovic, Allen (Muniesa 75), Shaqiri; Bony (Walters 76).

  • Mark Hughes was forced into making one alteration for the visit of Sunderland to the bet365 Stadium, with Phil Bardsley coming in for the injured Glen Johnson.
  • Bardsley slotted in at right-back for the Potters then, while elsewhere it was the same 4-2-3-1 formation for Hughes, with Joe Allen continuing in the central attacking midfield role.
  • Bardsley who was the first player to be replaced after picking up a knock, with Charlie Adam brought on in his place after 65 minutes. That change saw Geoff Cameron move to right-back to allow Adam to operate in central midfield. Ten minutes later, Allen was withdrawn as he continues to manage a hamstring problem, with Marc Muniesa taking his place. Muniesa then played at right-back, with Cameron shifting back into midfield. Adam was then pushed forward into the central attacking midfield role. Hughes’ final substitution saw Jon Walters take over from Wilfried Bony as the lone striker for the final 14 minutes.
  • After registering their first win of the season, Hughes will ideally want to name the same team for Saturday’s trip to Hull. The Welshman will hope Bardsley can shake off that knock, given that Johnson will be out for around three weeks with a thigh injury. Muniesa could step in should Bardsley be ruled out, with Cameron another option in that position, perhaps allowing Adam or Giannelli Imbula to come back into the side in midfield. Allen is expected to recover from his hamstring complaint in time.

Current Status: Settled
Risk Areas: Right-Back, Central Midfield

Sunderland

Starting XI: Pickford; van Aanholt (Jones 40), Djilobodji, O’Shea, Manquillo; Khazri, McNair (Pienaar 55), Ndong, Rodwell (Anichebe 81), Watmore; Defoe.

  • Sunderland boss David Moyes was forced into making three changes for the trip to Stoke, with Patrick van Aanholt, Papy Djilobodji and Jack Rodwell recalled in place of the injured trio of Lamine Kone, Jason Denayer and Jan Kirchhoff.
  • Van Aanholt and Djilobodji returned at left-back and centre-back respectively, while Rodwell joined Didier Ndong and Paddy McNair in a three-man midfield in a 4-3-3 formation. Duncan Watmore and Wahbi Khazri flanked central striker Jermain Defoe in attack.
  • Moyes was forced into making a change in the first half, though, with Billy Jones replacing Van Aanholt after the Dutchman suffered a groin injury. Jones played at right-back for the Black Cats, with Javier Manquillo switching over to left-back. Then 10 minutes into the second half, Moyes brought on Steven Pienaar in place of McNair in a straight swap, while with his final substitution, Victor Anichebe replaced Rodwell for the final nine minutes. That change saw Sunderland finish the match in 4-4-2, with Anichebe joining Defoe in attack, while Pienaar and Ndong combined in central midfield.
  • Should Van Aanholt be ruled out for the trip to West Ham, Manquillo and Jones look set to start in the full-back positions. Moyes will hope to have Kone back for the trip to London, although his options appear more limited further up the pitch, with Pienaar the most likely to force his way into the starting XI. Anichebe and Lynden Gooch may have to settle for places on the bench once more.

Current Status: Slightly Unsettled
Risk Areas: Full-Backs, Central Defence, Central Midfield

Swansea City

Starting XI: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Amat, Taylor, Britton (Borja Baston 66), Cork (Ki Sung-yeung 71), Fer, Barrow (Rangel 83), Sigurdsson, Routledge.

  • New Swansea manager Bob Bradley made three changes from the side that lost 2-1 to Liverpool in Francesco Guidolin’s final match in charge for the trip to the Emirates, with Federico Fernandez, Neil Taylor and Modou Barrow coming in for Mike van der Hoorn, Angel Rangel and Borja Baston.
  • Fernandez and Taylor slotted in at centre-back and left-back respectively, with Kyle Naughton returning to right-back for the Swans, Leon Britton, Jack Cork and Leroy Fer formed the three-man midfield, although the Dutchman did play slightly in advance of Britton and Cork. Barrow (right) and Wayne Routledge (left) flanked “false nine” Gylfi Sigurdsson in the 4-3-3 formation.
  • With the Welsh side 3-1 down, Bradley made an attacking first change, with Borja coming on in place of Britton after 66 minutes. That switch saw the Swans move to a 4-2-3-1, with Borja operating as the lone striker. Sigurdsson moved into his favoured number ten role, while Fer dropped in alongside Cork at the base of midfield. Five minutes later, Cork made way for Ki Sung-yeung in a straight swap, while, having picked up an ankle injury in the challenge which saw Granit Xhaka sent off, Barrow made way for Rangel for the final seven minutes. The Spaniard played at right-back, with Naughton pushed forward to the right side of the attacking midfield trio.
  • Although there were some positives for Bradley to take from his first match in charge, the American may look to change things up at the back after conceding some soft goals. Van der Hoorn, Rangel and Kingsley may all come into contention, with the places of Fernandez and Taylor appearing the most at threat. For the visit of Watford to the Liberty Stadium, Bradley may look to start in a 4-2-3-1, so Borja could earn a recall, with Sigurdsson slotting into the number ten role. Britton may be the central midfield player to miss out to allow for the inclusion of a striker. Routledge’s place may also come under threat should Jefferson Montero recover from an ankle injury.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Central Defence, Left-Back, Central Midfield, Lone Striker

Tottenham Hotspur

Starting XI: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld (Dier 60), Vertonghen, Davies; Wanyama; Sissoko (Dembele 65), Alli, Eriksen, Lamela (Heung-Min Son 72); Janssen.

  • Mauricio Pochettino made two changes from the side that beat Man City 2-0 for the trip to the Hawthorns, with Ben Davies and Vincent Janssen coming in for Danny Rose and Heung-Min Son.
  • Davies slotted in at left-back for Spurs, while Janssen led the line in the 4-1-4-1 formation favoured by Pochettino of late.
  • Pochettino’s first substitution was an enforced one, with Toby Alderweireld having to be replaced by Eric Dier after suffering a knee injury. Mousa Dembele was then introduced for Moussa Sissoko, with the Belgian moving into a double-pivot next to Victor Wanyama, while Christian Eriksen moved to the right in the 4-2-3-1 formation. Pochettino’s final change saw Son take over from Erik Lamela on the left wing for the final 18 minutes.
  • While it’s believed Alderweireld only suffered severe bruising to his knee, he’s still a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth. Should he be ruled out, Dier is likely to deputise at centre-back. After being rested on Saturday, Rose will be expected to return at left-back. If Kyle Walker starts against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, there could be a chance that Kieran Trippier comes in against the Cherries should Pochettino continue to rotate. In midfield, Dembele could earn a recall alongside Wanyama, with one of Sissoko or Lamela perhaps making way. Son only came on as a substitute against the Baggies, but is the favourite to start as the lone striker against Bournemouth after Janssen failed to take his chance on Saturday.

Current Status: Unsettled
Risk Areas: Full-Backs, Central Defence, Central Midfield, Flanks, Lone Striker

Watford

Starting XI: Gomes; Amrabat (Zuniga 72), Prodl, Kaboul, Britos (Kabasele 85), Holebas; Pereyra, Capoue, Behrami, Success (Watson 89); Deeney.

  • Walter Mazzarri made two changes for the trip to the Riverside, with Miguel Britos and Isaac Success starting in place of Juan Zuniga and Odion Ighalo.
  • Having used a 4-3-3 in Watford’s last match against Bournemouth, Mazzarri shifted to more of a 5-4-1 against ‘Boro. Britos joined Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Prodl in central defence, with Nordin Amrabat and Jose Holebas operating as wing-backs. Valon Behrami and the more advanced Etienne Capoue patrolled central midfield, while Roberto Pereyra (right) and Success (left) took up the wide roles behind central striker Troy Deeney.
  • With 18 minutes left on the clock, Mazzarri brought on Zuniga in place of Amrabat in a straight swap. Britos was then forced off with an ankle injury, so Christian Kabasele took over in central defence for the final five minutes. Ben Watson was sent on for Success in a defensive move late on to try and hold on for the 1-0 win.
  • After getting the result at the Riverside, Mazzarri may be happy to continue with the same set-up for the trip to Swansea on Saturday. Should Britos be ruled out, Kabasele looks the obvious alternative if Craig Cathcart remains out due to a groin problem. He could also consider moving back to the 4-3-3, though, with Zuniga coming in at right-back, Pereyra moving back into central midfield and Amrabat operating on the right of the front three. Ighalo lost his place in the side to Success on Sunday and appears unlikely to earn a recall at the Liberty Stadium.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Defence, Flanks

West Bromwich Albion

Starting XI: Foster; Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Nyom; Phillips (Brunt 69), Fletcher, Yacob, McClean; Chadli (Gardner 88); Rondon.

  • Tony Pulis named the same team that drew 1-1 against Sunderland for the home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Salomon Rondon did lead the line for the Baggies despite having limited preparation time having played for Venezuela over the international break. Allan Nyom kept his starting berth at left-back ahead of Brendan Galloway.
  • Pulis’ first change saw Chris Brunt make his first appearance of the season following a long-term knee injury, with the Northern Ireland international replacing Matt Phillips for the final 21 minutes. Craig Gardner replaced Nacer Chadli for the final few minutes to provide some fresh legs in midfield.
  • Pulis will be without the suspended Jonny Evans for Saturday’s trip to Anfield, so Jonas Olsson will probably fill in at centre-back. Brunt is likely to continue to build up his fitness from the bench, but his return to fitness will put pressure on the starting spots of Phillips and James McClean, while he could also be an option at left-back in place of Nyom.

Current Status: Very Settled
Risk Areas: Central Defence

West Ham United

Starting XI: Adrian, Reid, Kouyate, Ogbonna; Antonio, Noble, Obiang, Creswell, Lanzini (Nordtveit 89), Payet (Fernandes 89), Zaza (Calleri 87).

  • Slaven Bilic made three changes from the side that drew 1-1 against Middlesbrough for the trip to Selhurst Park, with Manuel Lanzini, Simone Zaza and the fit-again Aaron Cresswell coming in for James Collins and the injured duo Sam Byram and Gokhan Tore.
  • The return to fitness of Cresswell allowed Bilic to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, with the former Ipswich Town defender and Michail Antonio taking up the wing-back roles. Cheikhou Kouyate dropped into the three-man defence alongside Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna, while Lanzini and Dimitri Payet played in central attacking midfield roles behind lone striker Zaza.
  • All of Bilic’s substitutions came in the final five minutes, with Jonathan Calleri, Havard Nordtveit and Edimilson Fernandes all providing fresh legs as the Hammers looked to hold onto their 1-0 lead. Ogbonna covered at left-back following the sending off of Cresswell for two bookable offences.
  • Cresswell will miss Saturday’s home clash against Sunderland due to suspension, so Bilic may decide to switch away from a wing-back system if he feels Alvaro Arbeloa doesn’t have the legs for that position. The Spaniard and Nordtveit could then be utilised as full-backs, allowing Michail Antonio to operate on the flank.

Current Status: Fairly Settled

Rough with the Smooth - GWK 8

Let's hear about your tales of woe and joy. Best tales will be read out on tonight's Scoutcast.

Remember its what you did (eg I captained Aguero) rather than what you didn't do (eg I was going to captain Austin but instead captained Aguero).

I know. Another as well after gwk 7. Could have done with a nice steady score as I'd opted to save a transfer. Instead it rained missed penalties.

Ibra finally out as the first transfer and looking to spend a hit for a couple more. Barring more missed penalties that should sort it out.

Jonty, it almost feel wrong saying that we had an roughs this week. My benching of 15 point Holebas almost feels kindergarten compared to the nightmare you are having. It seems strange seeing you struggle, as year in year out we are normally very similarly ranked.

I know you'll get back. Have faith in your principles.

Long season to go. I was around the same at GWK 7 last season. Ended up 1 pt off the top 5,000.

cheers for your faith. I must admit though I've never had two weeks like this where poor early season decisions get so badly punished. Those penalty misses were just insane.

I think many of us were around the 1m rank at this stage last season, as we were getting to grips with a weird season. I actually finished level on points with you, and our ranks were very similar throughout.

I don't think the seasoned campaigners are struggling the same this year, as it feels much more normal this season, but you have been hit with some insane bad luck it must be said. Almost like you are being punished for an out of character -8. Obviously keeping Ibra has hurt you, and many others, but it was a very understandable choice.

We all have bad periods in a season, and hopefully you have now passed yours. As I say, if you stick to the principles that get you good ranks year after year, you will come roaring back, and hopefully with some luck sprinkled in there for good measure too.

              Last season was different.

Many "casuals" (especially Man City supporters) got off to a flying start by loading up on City players and playing an early Bench Boost or Triple Captaining the likes of Vincent Kompany in GW1, and you weren't the only experienced manager who was hovering around the one million mark until Aguero's five goals in GW8 but still had to wait for the late-season DGWs before utilising the new chips to shoot up the ranks.

I have also made too many poor early season decisions. The top 10k is already looking almost out of reach for me this season, and it may be a few more GWs before I even get back into the top million.

But good luck with the rest of the season. I hope that we will both finish in far more respectable positions than the ones we currently occupy.

Smooth:- Bought Costa and Austin for a minus 4 hit and sold Aguero. Though I have to admit I'm about to go crazy when Aguero took the PK. Alas, he missed it and my gamble went well =). Captained Costa as well. Also, started Holebas. Shouldn't the spelling be Cholevas, like on his jersey?

Rough:- Missed out 10 points for Nacer Chadli on the bench. It could have been worse if West Brom kept a clean sheet as I also have Ben Foster and Mcauley on the bench.

According to Wikipedia, he was born in West Germany and named Jose Lloyd Holebas, with a Greek father and a Uruguayan mother.

He was thus eligible to play for Germany, Greece or Uruguay, but in 2011 he received Greek citizenship as Iosef Cholevas and is now a Greek international.

Smooth - Got in at 3am on Saturday morning not in the best of states. Woke up at 12 to find i'd moved the armband from Aguero to Walcott. Also chose to play Holebas over Valencia (a more sober decision), but Valencia came in for Baines anyway.

Rough - Nothing out of the ordinary. The usually penalty misses and played Pickford over Foster.

Blind benched - played PvA (1 point.)
Valencia out for Walker (clean sheet lost)
Benteke and Aguero pen misses (-1 each)
Llanana out for Walcott - which saved me from a score in the teens!

But what really screwed it was Allen being marked as 50% chance of playing (who i wanted in.) After watching the Stoke press conference on Friday Hughes convinced me it was too risky so put Arnautovic in instead. You can imagine my reaction on Saturday looking at my phone....basically 5mins of swearing ensued!

Oh and i took a -12 hit for all this. Ended up with 37 (-12) so 25. Rank down from 200k to 800k. My worst week in the last three seasons.

I really hate this game sometimes!!!

Smooth - Walcott and Grant 19pts in for Jaku & Lallana 1

Rough - The Truth behind the move!! Not waiting for Joe Allen to be passed fit, so needed to make two other transfers (Kaku Valencia to Bellerin Tekkers) to get Walcott in.

All in all -12 point hit for 12 point "gain" (22 to 10) - wouldn't have played Valencia for his CS so evens.

Putting Allen in as planned would've cost me 4pt hit less, kept Lukaku's points and gained Allen's 16pts - huge swing there!

I was always getting Wally and Bellerin in so i'm not too disgruntled, honestly.

Weirdly enough Benteke and Firmino's suprise rise (both on 90% when they went up) meant that I was priced out of the move I was hoping to do throughout the ITL's and had to 'downgrade' Firmino to Walcott.

Out went Ibra and D. Fletcher, in came Benteke and Walcott. A bit annoyed at Benteke's missed pen as this could have been the mother of all smooths, but still happy being 7 points up on the deal and with a better team overall for the next few weeks.

      Rough:
Correctly predicted Southampton and Man U to get clean sheets, but Shaw and Soares unfit to play. Brought in Aguero for his home match just to see a -1.

Smooth: My GW7 double transfer delivered - Holebas and Austin. Captained Sanchez, happy with that when many others captained Aguero. Score of 57 very decent in this gameweek.

      Rough;

Captained Benteke when most in my ML went for Aguero.... Was rubbing my hands at 5pm, drowning my sorrows at 7.30pm... 🙁

Zlatan 1 pointer last night means my strikers returned me 1, -2, -1, for an overall score of -2!! Never known anything like it!

Brought Koscielny in for Shaw too. No cleanie!

Two West Brom shut-outs lost late doors too. Just to rub salt in.

      Smooth;

Just about got away with Walcott coming in for Hazard. I knew Hazard would score as soon as I sold but needed to free up funds. Unlucky not to have had a haul.

Finished on a paltry 28 and 3.3m GW rank! Worst ever I think in 11 years of playing!! 🙁

Had a rough Saturday, was on 24 (-4) from 7 players. Sunday I had Holebas & Austin get me 28 points, then yesterday Clyne & Firmino added another 12 so ended on 64 (-4) and a unexpected green arrow after a very poor start.

3 transfers were Kone, Sterling & Ibra > Mustafi, Sanchez & Austin so that paid off overall

Smooth - Captain Costa and 3 baps, then the lightweight Ozil scores & 3 baps and newbie Cameron cleans. Heaton gets 5pts in a hammering... then Clyne & Valencia get 16.

Rough - Ibra & Kun for a big fat zero.

      Not complaining though, great week.

i was working on sunday morning and had the choice of working from home or walking to the office. i chose the office due to having a tv with skysports there.
the choice pays off immediately, 5mins into my walk a soggy £10 note greets me, surely a sign today will be a great day.
midday: my girlfriend surprises me with pastries. i didn't even know she was coming, let alone armed with puffed perfection!
14:45: holebas scores an absolute screamer, they hang on an win 0-1. as a watford fan who only has holebas in that match it's basically the dream.

Collins/Antonio out and Smith/Walcott in. 4 point hit but worth it for the points this week and future.

Smooth - used my FT to get Pieters in for Masuyaku. Captained Walcott. Had neither Aguero nor Benteke.

Rough - Baines no show. Ibra did nothing again. He goes out this week for Aguero.

Bought in Austin for rashford at 11am saturday morning and moved armband from aguero to sanchez. Decent gameweek with 74 points as also had holebas, walcott and lukaku. Now in top 12k

Rough: Aguero (c) and Benteke. 4 missed pens in a row for me now. Smooth: Transferred in Allen and, after much deliberation, decided to take a 4 point hit to do Cazorla > Walcott. Ended up with a solid 55 point week after deductions

Rough- Got Benteke in for Ibra and captained him. My choice was between Costa and Benteke and ironically penalty duties swung it the latters way
Having had a woeful Saturday afternoon with 6 blanks out of 8 including Aguero and an incredibly frustrating few weeks, i felt like quitting
Smooth- Holebas stopped me from feeling like quitting

Woes - Captained Aguero, transferred in Deeney over Austin
Joy - No heartbreak from the bench, they all scored less than the starting 11 (i guess this would qualify as a woe, now that i think about it)

Out of the 100k and languishing around 250k after a horrible 30 point week 🙁

Considering Snoddy to Allen OR Walker to Lovren/Holebase just to free up some cash tbh

The Walker downgrade good way of getting some cash i think, benching Austin might backfire but I'm sure you know that.

Hence why i want to downgrade Snoddy to Allen. Dint think i could trust Austin week in week out but i think i want to play him every week after this one. that being said Son to Allen and Benteke to Costa over the next 2 weeks looks even more enticing

      What to do with Antonio?

Best mid price mids moving forward?

I feel the Antonio situation is similar to the Ibra one. Some have kept due to the impending Sunderland fixture. However, the warning signs were already there, and some of us have acted to slowly (me included).

Regardless of fixtures, his form is on the way down and his position is less attacking. I was going to do Antonio to Wally for a hit before the GW deadline, but fell into the trap and lost out. I have now done the same move for free and it feels good!

One of the most repeated arguments against owning Ibrahimovic was that he was too expensive for a player you would hardly be captaining. Can the same argument now be made against the likes of KDB and Sanchez?

(This is not a 'this is why you should keep Ibrahimovic' argument. He lost any credit he had last night)

I think I'll get rid of Sanchez during the next international break. Yes, he's too expensive and historically too patchy to justify being 2.3m more than say Ozil.

Taking hits for players out of form and dropping in value.

Is it worth removing a player who is blanking (Antonio, for example) even if they have good fixtures in order to preserve those 0.1s?

Will Future You love Past You come WC DGW TC BB time for having scrimped and saved, or is it better to avoid the hit?

      2) Are Hull this season's Aston Villa?

      3) Is Joe Allen a Capoue in sheep's clothes?

We all knew the signs that captaining Kun wasn't the best idea against a solid team, with Barca away game in midweek and international break but still most of us captained him. Do we need to forget about the 'always captain Aguero at home' theory with a lot of options providing double figures consistently? Are we going to make the same mistake again next week and captain him despite many better options especially at Arsenal? Keep in mind that a thrashing at the Camp Nou would sink the confidence in the dressing room even lower.

Aguero, Sanchez and Son were all in danger of being rested, but I wasn't surprised that Kun didn't start after two international matches in South America, playing 90 minutes in the second one despite being an injury doubt after the first one.
That's why I captained Sanchez instead despite the rumours - but I would have captained Costa if he had been in my squad.

How important is team value this season? With no real mid price options like Mahrez / Vardy / Alli from last year (and this goes to the template point), is it crucial to build up TV for increased optionality and just better teams.

My two transfers this week were Antonio and Capoue out for Walcott and Allen (-4), even though I'll be putting Allen on my bench. Never like giving up points for value but Capoue has had his day

As Hull's fixtures on paper begin to turn for the better, but their form is horrendous, are any of their assets still viable options?

I'd earmarked Snodgrass for a transfer in this week but his output in recent performances and team form seemed to have sapped his confidence, plus the emergence of Allen as a cheap 4th mid has clouded this decision to me.

Shipping Townsend out as my 4th mid btw.

Question regarding Hall of Fame update:

Is there any absolutely top fantasy manager that has not committed to FFS membership and therefore are not included in the HoF table. I mean, is there any unknown Ville Ronka out there who still can compete with top 10 for example?

It isn't necessary to be a member in order to be in the FFS Hall of Fame - joining the FFS League is sufficient.

There probably are a few top managers out there who use other sites instead of FFS and are good enough to be in our top ten if they joined us, but I doubt if any would quite compare with Ville Ronka.

He's just outside top ten if you look at PPM instead of just points. Seems a fairer way to look at it given he missed two games from suspension.

Add in Iheanacho's 20 points from those two games (crude I know but, vaguely valid) and you have Aguero up in the top 5!

Although, I do get your point and I am currently thinking of dropping Aguero! I just like fair usage of statistics

I know that Chelsea don't have the best up coming fixtures, but if Conte keeps picking 3 at the back with wing backs and 2 holding midfielders, surely it must be time to invest in Chelsea defenders?

That only leaves 3 offensive players Costa, Hazard and Willian, I feel alot of low scoring matches involving Chelsea this season.

      But which defender is best?

Alonso looks like a bargain if Chelsea stick with 3 at the back. Do you think he's nailed on regardless of formation now?

i was thinking Alonso too as an attacking wing back. Might wait another week or 2 and see if Conte switchs back to a back 4, and where Terry fits in once fit.

But i feel a Chelsea defender is essential if they keep playing with 3 at the back and 2 holding midfielders.

    1) Sanchez And/Or Walcott?

    2) Are Hull this season's Aston Villa?

    3) Is Joe Allen a Capoue in sheep's clothes?

      2. Yes

      33. No idea!

      4. Sturridge slows them down. The rest will share points among them, I suspect.

      5. Aguero + Sanchez + Walker + whoever is in form. Quite interesting this year I think.

      1) Both, ideally!
      2) It's looking like between them and Sunderland at the moment - ideally 2 teams that tank is best, as you have more chance of "coverage" against them!
      3) Probably, but definitely worth riding the wave - he's in the form of his life at the mo as many have suggested.
      4) Seems like it's a lottery for who scores in the Liverpool midfield. I'm probably shipping Antonio out for Lallana next week to give me the double up (Lallana/Firmino) to cover this.
      5) Sort of, but it's an interesting year - maybe something like this:
      Pickford
      Walker Holebas xx
      Sanchez Liverpool Walcott/Son NextCapoue
      Kun Kaku Costa
Not 100% sure, but something like that atm, at least on FFS.

There is always a line between form and fixtures and people bringing in Austin before he's away to City is just madness. He's got a reformed Chelsea the week after as well. Surely the time to bring him in was for the Burnley game? Not wait for him to almost inevitably do well that game and then buy him for the much harder fixtures after. You're behaving like casuals the lot of you.

City have the third best defence in the league (goals against), will have most of the ball you'd think, giving Southampton chances few and far between. Austin will come off early ish. Can he do enough in that time I wonder.

Is Koné protected? He's been on +100% for 2-3 days now and hasn't dropped.
