It’s a quandary that has been rattling around the brains of Fantasy managers for the last week or so. With cut-price forwards offering decent returns, many Fantasy managers are reshaping their midfields ahead of a hectic Christmas period.

Nani, Rafael Van der Vaart and Juan Mata have been the chief protagonists for differing reasons. The United man’s 18-point haul against Wolves has many juggling budgets and looking to squeeze him in. Van der Vaart’s hamstring has seen plenty jumping ship and Mata’s consistency and flourishing form within a revived Chelsea team is starting to attract plenty suitors.

All three have a favourable run of fixtures on the horizon between now and the end of gameweek 20, when plans can be revised as the festive wildcard comes into play. Question is, then, is one, two or even all three the way to go?

We analyse our ICT Index and the Opta statistics over the previous four gameweeks, digging deep in order to examine each player’s potential over the hectic Christmas programme…

Captaining Ba and it's a toss up between the Yak and Bale for vise captain

Trying to get a 2nd opinion... my team is

    Vorm (Habsi)
Jones, R Taylor, Enrique (Caulker, Wilkinson)
Silva, Bale, Walters, Sinclair (Ferguson –> he finally got a point last week!!)
    Ba, RVP, Adebayor

I’ve got 6m in the bank and 1 FT

Any advice? I’m thinking Adebayor out and Sturridge in…

    Cheers

IMO I would upgrade Ferguson for Nani as your going to need your full squad over Christmas, I just subbed ferguson out, he's good to have to free up cash but not over a busy period. Just my opinion obviously. Good luck

Would agree with Ferg to Nani, but will you not be 0.1million short, due to Nani's price rise this week, if you are go for Mata, but Nani would be the first choice.

Would captain Nani if you can get him, then Adebayor

    Walters - Silva - Nani - Bale
    RVP - Yak - Adebayor

Subs: Ruddy - Vermaelen - Allen - Wilkinson

Used my free transfer early to get Nani in for Ramsey to avoid price rise. Only have 0.3 in the bank now.
Should I start Vermaelen or Simpson?
Who to captain? Nani, Bale, Adebayor?

Verm may score/bonus, City concede every game seemingly and I'm unsure of whether Newcastle will keep CS until they get used to a new defence layout.
Ade may be good for (C) 🙂

yeap think your right. I don't think either Newcastle or Aresnal will keep a CS so maybe better going for Verm as he could score a goal or score some bonus points.

Yep, I'd say Verm over Simpson too (but its a close call).

Captain decision is tough this week. Any of the three you've suggested could do well (as could RVP or Silva). Check the captains poll on Saturday morning and then take a punt. (That wasn't very helpful was it?).

It's all good and well having players that are good value for money - but at the end of the day you need your team to score points! Midfielders and Forwards tend to have higher point scoring potention so IMO you're best to fill those positions in your team with high point scorers and look to save money by finding good value goalkeepers and defenders.

    All,

Really need some advice this week. I've had 2 FT burning a hole in my pocket all week but managed to hold off till now.

    Vorm (Foster)
    Jones BAE Simpson (Naylor, Wilkinson)
    Silva VDV Ramsey Walters (Ferguson)
    RVP Rooney (c) Sturridge

I've decided to stick with VDV now I've held on this long, so my current thinking is:

    Ramsey > O'Hara
    Wilkinson > Jagielka

Seem really boring but would play Jag over Simpson this week.

Any other thoughts? (£0.6m in Bank)

    Cheers!!!!

    Morning Everyone,

I'm really unsure about this week which way to go. I think its time to get rid of Rodwell but I'm unsure who for tbh!

I have 1.7 in the bank so would have 7.0 to spend on a replacement and thinking either Larsson or Walters or does anyone think there are bigger issues in my team?

    Krul (Hennessey)

Simpson Jones Jose Enrique (Shorey, Wilkinson)
    Silva Nani Bale ?? (Moses)
    Sturridge, Adebayor RVP

Captain choice is difficult, thinking RVP at City or possibly Nani or Sturridge I think the resurgent Sun will make a big haul more difficult for Tot boys.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

when do the points get taken off for doing extra transfers. last week my mate got 55 points (i counted each player and yes 55 is correct), however he did 3 transfers and its seems that the points have not been deducted…very annoying :-/

I think they get deducted beforehand so you don't see 51 his initial score would have had the deduction then the 55pts gets added to that.
