The cruel mistress that is Fantasy Premier League.

Jonty has fallen a victim, paying the penalty for a few ill-judged decisions, compounded by a huge slice of bad luck as both Christian Benteke and his captain Sergio Aguero missed penalties in a single Gameweek.

He just can’t buy a break right now, which makes it all the more impressive that Jonty should brave another ScoutCast and risk a bruising hour in my company, along with Andy and Granville.

We make sure we conduct a full post-mortem on Jonty’s miserable plight, before delving into similar tales from the community in “Rough with the Smooth”.

Then it’s on to your questions as we consign Hull City to whipping boy status, pry into Pep’s potentially failing relationship with Aguero and dare to cast doubt on the Joe Allen bandwagon.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re nostalgic for the old formats, you can acquire the traditional mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or watch me get riled via the Google Hangout version in the second player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Taking out the second highest scoring defender for arguably the best defence in the league?

Only if the money saved gets you something worthwhile and if it does you are better off saving this week and doing it as part of a double transfer in the same week.

Spurs will beat Bournmouth more often than not.

I'm worried about my GK combo of Foster and Pickford. Sunderland poor, WBA tough games. They will face Arsenal and City next GW. Which GK should I look at? Have Koscielny, Stones, Holebas, Amat, PVA.

So seriously considering something like this. No Kun no Ibra two mid price forwards who rotate for fixtures against Hull etc
This is just an example not what I would have right now
What ye think? 11 only the rest are fodder except Pieters and .4 ITB

    Heaton
    Bellerin Rose Coleman
    KDB Sanchez Hazard Firmino Walcott
    Defoe Wilson

It could work, but you will likely to using most of your transfers to keep finding the best fixtures between Defoe, Deeney, Austin, Wilson, Rondon, Benteke (if you can stretch to him), etc.

I'm probably moving to a 3-5-2 also, but will likely keep Aguero to have one big hitter to rely on:

      Sanchez - Walcott - Firmino - Coutinho - Sterling

      Aguero - Austin - Barrow

That looks good too. Yeah being able to rotate up front is dependent on not have any other fires to put out. Kun is a hard call I just see KDB getting close to matching him. I might comprise a bit on defence or mid to allow Kane up front when he returns and then just rotate the second forward.

Yeah, lots of ways to skin that cat. I just think it might make sense to have at least one forward who you set and forget so you aren't always using transfers to find the best matchups.

@ their current prices - pay the additional 0.2 for Bellerin.

    Feud between Kun and Pep??

Pep Guardiola is ready to dispense with the services of Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany as he prepares a clearout of the Manchester City squad, according to the Mirror.

The Argentine was left on the bench midweek as City fell to Barcelona at Camp Nou, while the fit-again defender was not even included in the matchday squad.

And while the manager assured that the decision to drop Kun was tactical, the imminent arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras and rumoured bids for Antoine Griezmann and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could mean his days are numbered at the Etihad Stadium.

Good point on scoutcast about chasing Hull fixtures with a 3rd forward. Next 6-7 weeks Hull have fixtures where a third forward against them costs no more than 7.5ish

    1. Cok3y5murf
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 2 months ago

Just because Hull are bad atm, not every striker playing against them is gonna get points nor are Hull gonna be hammered every week like against Bournemouth. That makes no sense. Stoke were similar before. But Benteke blanked in a 4-1 win over Stoke, and Ibra blanked in a 4-1 win over Stoke as well.

I don't think it makes no sense just playing percentages. It does not have to be Hull it can be Sunderland whoever has bad defending stats. Surely who you think will score is not just about who you think will score but how bad the opposition is.

        1. Cok3y5murf
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 2 months ago

Yes, but switching your third forward every week depending on who is facing Hull is madness. And they can easily recover in 6-7 weeks time. This is a futile plan.

I really don't like this idea. Similar to what we were discussing above, forcing hits (or at least transfers) every week to chase a team can be great in theory and horrible in practice when you deal with other injuries to your side, or unexpected rotation, etc.

To me, it's either a recipe for unnecessary hits or being forced to stick with a forward you don't really like because you end up having other issues to address.

I get what you are saying but look at Wilson 10-12 fixtures for example rotating on a 2-3 weeks basis rather that just 1 week should avoid the scenario where you are stuck with a player you really don't want anymore.

Yes, it's much more doable if you can lock into forwards that you like for stretches.

              Understood.

Leicester's home defensive record is rather amazing. And they've got home matches against Palace, West Brom, and Middlesbrough in the next five.

And I'm feeling very confident about Pool's defense. Their early fixtures were a minefield and they've come through it looking good.

I've got Clyne and Holebas, so I can't blame you either way.

    Pickford
    Walker Valencia Smith
    Firmino Sanchez Wal(C)ott Allen
    Lukaku Aguero Costa

    Foster Amat Fletcher Love

Question 1: good to go ??
Question 2: would you captain walcott over sanchez since sanchez have more tendency to assist rather than scoring goals ??

any opinion or comment are appreciated. Cheers guys.

Sanchez will be a better captain imo, higher chance to score

I'm thinking of doing Firmino (c) -/ Evans is suspended.

    Fair logic?

    Or just go Kun?
