Nothing can be taken for granted this season.

Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet, Sergio Aguero’s ability to fluctuate from a frustrating liability to an essential goal machine and the Liverpool midfield: blessed with brilliance and then cruelly cursed by misfortune.

It was Manchester City who provided the early rise and fall on today’s rollercoaster, first reassuring some with Aguero’s presence on the teamsheet, while disappointing owners of Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan.

Then Aguero took over.

Like Harry Kane in Gameweek 12, he transformed the most ordinary team performance into a personal haul that revived his stock and forced an immediate re-assessment of plans.

Strategies were re-written with Aguero’s brace, only to be torn up by the events that were to follow at Anfield.

We had such expectations of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking three against Sunderland but, when the whistle blew on Merseyside, we were left mainly with blanks, and the scars of Roberto Firmino hobbling off and Phillipe Coutinho stretchered from the field.

Following minor concerns for the Brazilian and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard over the international break, this latest setback appears far more significant.

We should perhaps wait on a scan and the full prognosis but, already the reaction to Coutinho’s agony has been marked: he tops the Fantasy Premier League “transfers out” column and will surely continue to shed owners before we know the true extent of the damage.

A possible tragedy in Liverpool’s superb season, for some Fantasy managers, the loss of Coutinho will be a game changer that opens up a new and all too convenient strategy.

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s relentless form that continued today in a dramatic 5-4 Swansea City victory lifts the Icelander to the forefront of our transfer thinking.

Along with Chelsea’s Pedro, he will surely vie to replace a potentially stricken Coutinho and, in doing so, free up funds to investigate Diego Costa, or more likely, the Harry Kane option in attack.

Those previously considering an exit for Aguero, myself included, may now be presented with an alternative route.

The 33% owned Romelu Lukaku could now be sacrificed with funds liberated from Coutinho’s sale providing a means to acquire Kane.

Aguero, thanks to his goals and a cruel twist of fate at Anfield, could now be locked in once again.

The City striker, along with the unfortunate Coutinho, were part of a turbulent day that offered a stark reminder to all of just how quickly fortunes can shift.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Coutinho's orange flag is throwing me off. Says 50% chance of playing but surely he's going to be out for a couple of weeks?

Need to find 0.5 to get Kane for Lukaku?

    A) Ozil
    B) Mane
    C) Firm

Thinking A for Siggy as it then leaves cash to pounce on Alonso down back. Only downside is losing Ozil with his nice fixtures.

This is just an opinion, so make of it what you want.

I think Firmino is the best value of the 3 and Ozil and Mane are pretty close to each other, but significantly worse value than him (like I don't know - you pay 10-15% more for points from them). With all that being said the problem with Firmino is the flag.

I'd (being a risk taker) sell Mane or Ozil. I believe Firmino will be fine for next week and if I'm in your spot I'm offloading 1 of those 2.

Mane would be the 1 I'd most likely sell coz of the whole injurie situation at Pool. With so many key players out I'd rather spread the risk and keep Firmino+Ozil than to tie myself with 2 players from that same team.

I repeat - this is just my view on stuff - I might be completely wrong here and the best drop might turn out to be 1 of the other 2 (Firmino or Ozil)

Great reply, thanks for the in-depth opinion. Leaning towards selling Mane but I've decided to wait and see how Ozil fares tonight.

Here is a little bit of 'Car Crash Captaincy' by yours truly since GW7..

GW7 > ZLATAN (2pts) - Home to Stoke, many guilt edge chances. Booked.
GW8 > AGUERO (-2pts) - Benched and then misses pen.
    GW9 > AGUERO (2pts) - Poor game, booked.
    GW10 > ZLATAN (4pts) - Heaton on drugs.
    GW11 > AGUERO (12pts) - What's this?! A goal.
    GW12 > TROLLKAKU (4pts).
    GW13 > COUTINHO (2pts) - Broken.

That is 24pts from my captains in 7 weeks. Surely nobody can beat that.

I need to replace the strings on my violin. They have worn through!

    Toby Alderwierld.

Against a Swansea side that can't defend set pieces.

    Could be gold

You would not wanna be Spurs-less against the Swans.

Llorente or Fer as your Swansea go-to for GW15 onwards?

Saves a bit of money on Siggy.

    Heaton Pickford
    Fuchs Lovren Holebas Pieters Amat
    Sanchez Hazard Coutinho! Firmino Walcott
    Aguero Austin W.Keane!

    2FT 0.3ITB

Coutinho and Will Keane injured. Fuchs and Sanchez not looking like they are worth the money.

Im interested in getting Kane in but im not sure of the best route

prepared to take a hit if I need too

Aguero, Coutinho, Gundogan > Kane, Mane, Sigurdsson?

Don't know whether I dare go without Aguero 🙁

Selling Kun after he just got a brace is wrong.

Saying that the moves makes sense if coutinho is injured
