With the dust barely settled from the weekend’s action, Gameweek 17 is upon us immediately and we’ve still the small matter of announcing the Round Five fixtures for the Paddy Power Cup V. Before that however, let’s take a minute to reflect on the results from Round Four, which can be viewed right here. The headlines…

A brand new name will be etched onto the mythical Cup, as reigning champ Ninja_Fit_Saints become the fourth and final former winner to meet his match. Mayhey Kid took the scalp 56 – 39, to complete the four-week demise of the Cup royalty.

There’s no stopping Mark though, who dispatched Hassyg 72 – 55 booking his place in the last 64. That score of 72 earned the Scout leader a bronze medal for the week, bettered only by Dyslexia United‘s 73 (- 32 Tommytabs123) and Milton Millieiscos‘ top-scoring 77 (- 46 F.Y.F.B).

Now, onto the fifth round draw… The 32 fixtures are available to peruse right here.

The highest-ranked fantasy manager left in the competition is non other than Der-Hammer95, sitting a hugely impressive 356th overall. He comes up against s4petah, who beat the round three top-scorer at the weekend.

Mark’s fine run looks set to continue, as he has drawn the lowest-ranked manager left in the competition, Mighty Manchester.

Good luck to all 64 participants, and we’ll bring you the results and subsequent fixtures in plenty of time before the Boxing Day Premier League games.

Not as many as I'd like with him, Waz, Berba, Welbeck and even Macheda (and Diouf...) fit to play upfront.

Hey guys weighing up a number of transfer options...vote/opinion appreciated!

    a) Bale to Adam, I know Bale has good fixtures coming up but I feel he won't bring home the bacon

    b) Dyer to Moses, Dyer has become deadwood of late plus who could reject the holy one?

    c) Brown to Evans, would use up my third Man Utd spot, but for his price - a bargain too good to resist

Its hard to say without seeing the rest of your team, but b) or c) look sensible. Liverpool looked terrible against Villa which makes me reluctant to invest in anyone but defence.

Not sure if this helps but I took Bale out for Valencia myself with the plan to get him back for GW 20. Only time will tell whether that was a good idea..

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Simpson, Raylor, Enrique, Verm (Wilko)
    Nani, Valencia, Silva (Walters, Moses)
    Ade, Ba, RVP(c)

    Hmm..
    Would you rather have;
    A. GW18 - N.Taylor (QPR) GW19. Simpson (liv) GW20. Baines (BOL, tot)
    B. Evans for all three (WIG, BLA, new)
    C. Evans for WIG, BLA and take a 4 point hit (meaning a total of 8) for Baines for the DGW

ba or rvp as a captain? i have a feeling its gonna be a tight game vs villa maybe 2-1 or 2-0 arsenal but rvp could easily bag both goals...ba has wba at home and he was unlucky last week and anything happening to newcastle offensively hes probably on the end of it..however newcastle's top 4 form has gone and thats a worry

      +1 😉
exactly same thoughts, I also have a hunch that VdV will come good this week, might take a risky punt on him

i decided not to sell him now cuz I have a hunch he'll come good too he always scores in london derbies...but I don't have the balls to captain him against chelsea though 😀

WBA are pretty inconsistent and I can see Ba doing well, but RVP hasn't scored in one game so he is well due and I agree on the Villa game being close.

If I owned Ba though, I would captain him over RVP but just my thoughts!

Also same predicament. I think I'll captain RVP as Villa looked terrible in the weekend.

Anyone looking at Valencia? I'm between him, J Evans and Chico as my 3rd MUN player from GW18 onwards (currently have P Jones and Nani). Who'd ya reckon is the best to go for? And no, I can't afford Rooney.

I brought him in this week, I think he'll be a good shout over the next 3 GWs. Forward positions are gold at the moment so I wouldn't bring in Chico, but you can't knock JEvans for his price.

What are you supposed to do when your captain isn't on the poll?
Vote for your vice-captain or vote for who you'd captain if you had them?

Asked this yesterday but got only 1 opinion, so reposting 🙂

Brown (QPR away) or Walters (MCI away)?

I know Walters is the harder fixture, but they could easily nick a goal and he'd be a likely scorer; plus, QPR aren't a pushover and could score easily.

Walters. QPR are strong at home and Walters is on pens.

Martin O Neil is known as a good defensive manager. Watch out Brown and co. may keep a clean sheet in this one. I don't see Stoke scoring though. City are just too good atm.

    My team is
    Vorm
    Evans,Kompany,Enrique (Simpson, Wilko)
    VDV, Silva, Walters Larsson (Dyer)
    Ba, RVP, Aguero

Have a feeling Aguero and Silva will be rested
