Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with a short-term ankle problem. Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi is sidelined due to a hamstring injury, whilst Emre Can is still doubtful for Liverpool’s trip to the Riverside.

Shkodran Mustafi is out for three weeks with the hamstring problem that forced him off during Arsenal’s weekend win over Stoke. Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a similar complaint for this evening’s trip to Everton.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with an ankle problem, though Jose Mourinho expects the Armenian international’s absence to be short term. Antonio Valencia is suspended after falling off the Suspension Tightrope with his fifth yellow of the season against Spurs.

Emre Can remains a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Middlesbrough, though is expected to return in time for next week’s Merseyside derby with Everton at the latest. Jurgen Klopp remains uncertain as to whether Dejan Lovren is available, after the defender was forced off with cramp against West Ham on Sunday.

Junior Stanislas and Andrew Surman will remain unavailable for Bournemouth’s clash with Leicester, Eddie Howe conceded yesterday.

Craig Dawson is suspended for West Brom’s home clash with Swansea after earning a fifth caution of the season during Sunday’s loss at Chelsea.

Marc Muniesa and Glen Johnson are rated as slight doubts for Stoke’s clash with Southampton. Jon Walters and Ryan Shawcross are back in training, with the former more likely to be available.

Charlie Austin is set to stay on the sidelines for around three-to-four months with shoulder ligament damage sustained on Europa League duties last Thursday.

Younes Kaboul is back in training and will be assessed ahead of Watford’s trip to Man City. Valon Behrami is a slight doubt due to illness, though Roberto Pereyra is available, having served a one-match suspension.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Tuesday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

that is a concern actually, ideally these hull and burnley games would have been another fortnight away.

Yep got him in, think himself and Bellerin may even rotate in and out of my team at times in the future. Have Alonso and can't see him leaving my team any time soon so another premium alongside him is the way forward for my team I reckon.

Best defender for £5m or under please? I already have Keane and Brunt and transferring Dawson out today. I'm thinking:

    A - Cedric
    B - Reid
    C - Daniels
    D - Holebas
    E - Another?

    Alonso, Walker, Holebas, McAuley, Cedric.

Pick 3 and put the other 2 in bench order. I think there is a chance, with City's defence, that Holebas may get an attacking return but I think given the other defenders' fixtures, he will still be last in line. If I play just Kane as a lone striker, I can choose 4 defenders (already play 5 midfielders). Other 2 strikers are Anichebe and Austin who I will be transferring out for Origi or Llorente.

A Mini league of 36 people is finishing on Monday the 19th. So only 2 game weeks to play. I want to win it!
    My current team - Karius
    Alonso Pieters Evans
    Milner Hazard Firmino Sanchez
    Defoe Kane Deeney

Bench - Pickford, Fletcher, Amat, Holebas.
    I'm thinking either, Sanchez & Deeney > Erikson & Costa -4
or , Firmino > Erikson for free.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

    Grant Pickford
    Lovren Brunt Holebas Dawson Cameron
Siggy Hazard Sanchez de Roon Firmino
    Costa Kane(c) Nacho

Have hated my defence for weeks. Also I'm unsure on Firmino's output from here on in. Stumbled on the following and really liked the look of it.

    Firmino > Antonio
    Lovren > Alonso
    Cameron > Amat
    Dawson > Cresswell

All for -12. What do you think? I'm keen on West Ham as their next 3 fixtures are as easy as it gets and their injury worries seem to be over so I'm expecting much more from them now.

    Falling stars.

After last weeks mass debate about TV and early transfers I've decided to resurrect my Falling stars article for the week.

For those not around I used to post a fictitious squad/article each week made up entirely of players who have fallen in price and are collectively worth less than the original 100 mill budget (reserve the right to a 4.0 non playing keeper) and with a minimum of short term punts.

The aim was to promote analysis of the red side of the price game and act as an antidote to the knee jerk and chasing last weeks pts...and to try and beat the GW avg.

The early part of the week offered a superb midfield of Mikhi Siggy Eriksen and Payet...however...events have transpired that Mkhi was injured and Siggy rose back in price to his original price...but he was available...Shame.
In the spirit of the current thinking I've avoided all City picks due to the unpredictability of the line up..des[ite Watford at home
I've also avoided both the short term Origi and Iheanacho despite being obvious good punts.

    This weeks picks.

    DDG (4.0)

    Toby Gabriel Cresswell

    Payet Pogba Wijnaldum Eriksen

    Ibrahimovic Llorente Vardy

(4.0 Baines Taylor DeRoon) (98.8...0.2 itb)

Collectively 3.6 million less than opening GW values.

Some others on the radar as fallers.

Carroll, Aguero, Mkhitaryan, Cabaye, Alli, Lanzini, Okaka, Valencia

In my haste I forgot to name the (c). A straight race between Payet Eriksen and Ibra,.

Palace can be woeful at the back even managing to concede three against Hull and five against Swansea. United looked really good last time and much better than the 1-0 scoreline suggested against Spurs. Somebody will get thumped by United soon and it could be this weekend.

C but I'd keep Firmino though if possible I feel that he's due a goal

Who to start between these two:

    1) Evans (H) vs Swansea

    2) Pieters (H) vs Soton

Have both Foster and Sigurdsson otherwise, with Amat on the bench. Really stuck on this one 🙁

Pieters, but I'm completely disregarding the Foster/Sigurdsson elements as they don't affect my thinking.

Seems to have chosen to spend this year retweeting socialist political comments rather than focus upon his fantasy football. He popped up a couple of months ago but he's been almost completely silent on here otherwise.

Is Austin out long term? heard rumors he's out until next year is this true? If so who would be the best replacement Big Andy? Up to 7.7 (Have Defoe)

Well, 'out until next year' is only 3 weeks.

Holy smokes, I need to do some Christmas shopping...

Did you not read the article above mate, out for a few months seemingly. Not loving third striker options at da mo but perhaps Benteke is the best option in that price bracket?

Finding it very hard to choose between Sanchez and Hazard for captaincy.

Sanchez: minutes are a question but his away form is mind blowing
Hazard: away form is poor, but it's Sunderland

Should I just go ahead and stick it on Costa?

Really need help on this one

You should get Kane in and stick it on him.

Can't afford him, without losing a Costa. Waiting for him to get his yellow and be done with it

Spurs midfielder or not? Hold Firmino and wait on an explosion or just accept that he is another player without Coutinho and the central spot?

        Foster
Van Dijk - Alonso - Nyom
        Firmino - Siggy - Sanchez - Hazard
        Nacho - Kane (C) - Costa

        Jaku - Holebas - Amat

        A) Save transfer
        B) Firmino > Eriksen (more safe than Alli. Plays good against worse teams)
        C) Firmino > Alli (differential)

        What would you do?
