Gareth Bale is “very doubtful” for Spurs game against Chelsea. Emmanuel Adebayor has a foot problem but is expected to play. John Terry and Ramires are passed fit for the clash, while Jamie O’Hara is sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing hernia surgery:

Andre Villas-Boas had some positive news on the injury front in this afternoon’s press conference. Both John Terry and Ramires are available for tomorrow night’s trip to Spurs, though David Luiz has been ruled out, having failed to recover from a knee problem.

Chelsea have also this afternoon confirmed their Boxing Day clash with Fulham will take place at the scheduled time of 1pm. The game had been under review due to the proposed industrial strike on the London Underground but after consideration, the club have made the decision to go ahead as planned.

Harry Redknapp’s Press Conference was a little more pessimistic in terms of injury news. Although the Spurs boss admitted Aaron Lennon’s hamstring problem is not as bad as first feared, he has concerns over the availability of key players ahead of the Chelsea game, with Gareth Bale the main concern:

Gareth’s struggling at the moment. He hasn’t been able to train. He’s very doubtful. It normally takes six or seven days for Ledley’s knee to go down, so we’ll have to wait and see how it is today and tomorrow. He’ll be 50-50 at best I would imagine. Jermain, again, has a bit of a hamstring. He thinks he’s got a chance, but the physio isn’t keen on him taking a chance. Ade’s got a foot problem, we’ll see how he is. He can’t train today, but we’re hopeful. He doesn’t miss too many games.

Jamie O’Hara is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks after undergoing double hernia surgery. The midfielder was sidelined for the weekend home game against Stoke with a calf injury but the club’s official website revealed today that O’Hara has been bothered with a hernia problem for some time and the decision has been made to operate, thus ensuring he is 100% fit for the rest of the campaign.

Johan Djourou and Kieran Gibbs are both out of Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa this evening. Arsene Wenger had expected the latter to be available but Gibbs has suffered a setback, meaning either Thomas Vermaelen or Ignasi Miquel could start at left-back. Djourou’s absence means Laurent Koscielny is likely to be fielded at right-back, with Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson still both sidelined.

Blinded? No ways dude, he has been the most consistent point scoring midfielder this year and they are at home to Stoke.
That said I also picked Van Persie over him, mainly cause I watched Villa against United and Pool in the past few weeks and to say they were atrocious wouldnt be near harsh enough

So is it true CPS have charged Terry?

If so credit, didn't think they would. And the FA will then have to bugger off with their still playing him and considering him for CAPTAIN bollocks. A complete anachronism, incredible absurdity.

The FA and Chelsea will adopt an innocent until proven guilty approach. The CPS do not take a case to court unless there is a very good chance of conviction. He can plead innocence all he likes but I have seen the video without the masked mouth and he is as guilty as sin!

Yep my fear in an earlier post was that CPS would chicken out of a good case because they couldn't be sure of conviction.

That they've gone for it is an extremely bad sign for Terry's chances of escaping.

        Awesome news.

It's because nobody made a complaint to the police. If they had, the police would be duty-bound to investigate.

I think in the Terry case it was a member of the public rather than Anton who made the complaint.

Gents, any thoughts on the following?

Kompany, Ben Arfa, Ba out for Shotton, Surman, and Rooney (-4)

Rest of team (maybe give it a rating as well)

    Ruddy, Westwood
Vermaelen, Enrique, RTaylor, Wilkinson (I know)
    Silva, Nani, Sinclair, Walters
    RVP, Adebayor

I see Rooney dominating the next couple of games and popping in several goals, at which point he will become too expensive for me. Would likely follow up in the next couple of weeks with Taylor to Evans.

I'm not the biggest Terry fan. However...

What he said was heat of the moment, I doubt he is a 'racist'. Yet now he's been charged everyones joined a witch hunt. He does deserve some sort of comeuppance for his off field behaviour, and I do hope he gets a ban as a deterrent for others resorting to such language.

But, people are very quick to forget. What about the likes of Woodgate who were shown to have used racist language. Even Ledley King was caught on camera dishing it out to an arab doorman.... the fans all carry on supporting them to this day, but will most likely believe Terry is a vile man for what he did.

This is a non-white perspective, not that it should add any value to the above points. However I have personally experienced racist insults before. Just my 2 cents.

I know the point you're making - heat of the moment, not necessarily your character. Just to say it's undermined a bit by Woodgate actually turning out to be a racist because he was involved in that horrific racist attack on Sarfraz Najeib back in the early '00s and got convicted in the case alongside Bowyer and another guy who was not famous enough not to get sent to jail.

Lots of people really just dislike Terry anyway, so it's nice to see him finally have his sh*t catch up with him.

I also doubt he is a racist but no ways should anyone in his position get away with any racist remarks. be in in the heat of the moment or not. Why kind of example does it set.
