Dele Alli scores twice and Christian Eriksen delivers a pair of assists in Spurs’ 4-1 win at St Mary’s. Harry Kane breaks his scoring duck but proceeds to miss a second-half spot-kick as his transfer exodus builds momentum.

On the Rise

Dele Alli
Tottenham’s midfield differential added to last week’s goal against Burnley by grabbing a decisive double in a 4-1 Spurs canter at St Mary’s.

Alli now has three goals and as many assists in the last six Gameweeks, yet the recent exploits of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen means he remains very much overlooked, sitting in just over 5.3% of FPL squads.

With Watford, West Brom, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the upcoming six rounds of fixtures, the starlet has the schedule to maintain his recent return to form.

Christian Eriksen
A pair of assists, allied with two bonus points, helped the Dane to a fourth double-figure haul in the last six Gameweeks.

Eriksen’s underlying numbers continue to strengthen his claim for inclusion, with last night’s display taking him to joint-fourth in the FPL midfield standings alongside Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

While the Kane exodus looks set to pick up pace, the 14%-owned Eriksen has done more than enough to stay part of our plans for the time being.

Danny Rose
Supplying the pass for the visitors’ fourth, Rose now has a goal and two assists to his name over the last three Gameweeks.

Sitting fourth amongst defenders in terms of points per match this season, Rose’s average of 5.0 is greater than Kyle Walker’s 4.4, yet, like Alli, he continues to remain overlooked and boast an ownership under 7%.

Walker’s subsequent suspension looks to be diverting transfer traffic to his team-mate – Rose is the fifth most transferred in defender ahead of Gameweek 19’s deadline tomorrow evening.

Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman finally opened his account for the season by nodding an early opener in last night’s clash with Spurs.

With four clean sheets and eight bonus points in the six matches prior to last night, Van Dijk has risen to fifth in the FPL defender standings as the Saints prepare for a favourable run of fixtures.

As the only ever-present in Claude Puel’s rearguard, the 5.7-priced Van Dijk’s penchant for picking up bonus makes him the standout candidate, though with speculation mounting over his future, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be at St Mary’s by the time the January transfer window shuts.

In Decline

Harry Kane
If he hadn’t slipped when taking that second-half penalty, the FPL transfer market may well have had a very different complexion overnight.

Despite scoring for the first time in four Gameweeks, Kane’s fluffed spot-kick ultimately left him with just four points from last night’s fixture – a total of 10 points over the last four.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic racking up the returns and both Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero back from suspension, Kane continues to shed ownership at pace – only Theo Walcott has earned more transfers out this Gameweek.

Kyle Walker
Along with team-mate Jan Vertonghen, the Spurs right-back finally toppled off the Suspension Tightrope after earning his fifth yellow card of the campaign at St Mary’s.

Sitting in 38% of FPL squads, Walker – the most popular defender in the game – will now miss the Gameweek 19 visit to Vicarage Road on New Year’s Day.

Bearing in mind that Walker faces Chelsea and Man City in the subsequent three, his owners may now look for an exit route, with Antonio Conte’s resilient defence the obvious premium priced replacements.

Nathan Redmond
With Charlie Austin injured, Dusan Tadic out of favour and Sofiane Boufal heading to the Africa Cup of Nations next month, we were hoping that Redmond could offer a viable route into the Saints attack ahead of some fine fixtures.

The Saints’ next seven matches (WBA, eve, bur, LEI, swa, WHU, sun) look promising at both ends of the pitch but the former Norwich man’s dismissal rules him out of the Baggies encounter and continued the disastrous form that has served up a single assist in nine Gameweeks.

Anyone else can't afford Ibra, and flirting with the idea of bringing in Pogba? He'd be good differential value in my mini league, and his underlying stats are pretty convincing - he's had more shots on goal than any other player in the league over the last four game weeks.

I have Pogba and Ibra. Fixtures too tempting and Pogba plays every game. I think Mourinho has released Pogba now by taking him out of that two man pivot (dropping Rooney and Mata has helped). Pogba also a set piece threat.

Personally think Origi is good value at his price especially with Coutinho injured and Mane off to ACON. Sturridge will get cameos and cup games at best - Klopp does not trust him. Expect to see the following for a while yet:

        Lallana Henderson Can
        Mane/Coutinho* Origi Firmino

        * Mane until he goes to ACON then Coutinho

I'm struggling pretty badly this season. My rank is around 2 million and I'm about 150 points behind in my ML so I think it's time to mix things up. How does this look for my Jan WC team for GW 20?

      Heaton - Jaku

      Alonso - Chambers - Brunt - Amat - Wilson

      Hazard - Sanchez - Cabaye - Phillips - Allen

      Aguero - Ibra - Benteke

        Jaku won't play either.

I'd ship Jaku, Amat and Wilson for starters as if you're picking a wildcard then make sure they will all always play at least to start with.

I'd downgrade one of your midfielders to De Roon to save £1m, and probably go for Rondon over Benteke to save another £1m, and reinvest across the 3 I said to take out to bolster, and maybe even upgrade Cabaye. Good luck!

45.7 million spent on just four of your squad ?
I know you may think that they are must haves but do you need all four. It seriously weakens the rest of your squad.

I guess that your team value (and more importantly transfer value) is fairly low so you are probably restricted anyway.
Only one playing goalie is a risk (as I've just found out with pickford). Defence has a couple I'm not to sure will keep their places after transfer window.
Midfield has what I would call 3 fifth midfielders and no mid range ones (eg lallana, Eriksen, Ali, firming, siggy etc).

Fixtures are good for about 75% of your team from gw20 so good luck if you do go for it.

I wouldn't take hit on gk when you have another that plays for now.
Will you play phillips over routledge this gw?
If I had Kane not sure I'd sell for lukaku. Hull's only one fixture.

Good transfers but I still wince at a -8. If you can do Kane and Pickford, I'd leave it at that

GW20 is surely going to be an absolute nightmare for rotation. After that it's the FA Cup, that's a long period for people with low GW20 scores to take multiple points hits 😀

Loving all the WCs that are appearing to be being burned early - even more advantage at DGW time *rubs hands*

Yep. Won't be making that mistake again.

I'm actually quite happy with my squad as well, weirdly.

If I still had my 1st WC I'd have used it this week.

Instead I took a nice 8 pointer to get Heaton and Lallana amongst others.

Kept faith with Kane as he should get something against Watford but he can easily be taken out for Costa.

Dumped Can who has been a complete disappointment since I wildcarded him in a few weeks ago.

Sometimes you have to just take the hit and move on, I had 2 FT so that softened the blow. Pickford and Can wouldn't be contributing anything for the foreseeable future anyway.

WC now can still work. A better team has a long time to score more points (whilst non-WC teams take hits). Four or five weeks prior to DGW is enough to assemble a DGW team.

            Walker + Kane -> Jones + Kun (-4)

Walcott may have to go for a hit this week....I have 8.6 to spend

            A. Eriksen
            B. Alli (chasing 1st and 2nd in mini league, both have Eriksen)
            C. Pogba
            D. Someone else....

I plan to down grade Siggy to Phillips next week. Other option is to take a hit and bring Phillips in now then upgrade Walcott to Mkhitaryan next week

I'm with you & feel your pain. Walcott finally seemed to have found some consistency whilst Eriksen has always seemed like a streaky player in the past. Hindsights a wonderful thing.

              Rest of my team:

              Forster - Pcikford
              Lovren - McAuley - Holebas - Alonso - Amat
              Hazard - Lallana - Siggy - Sanchez - Phillips
              Ibra - Costa - Anichebe

Lovren -> Ake this week for -4? 0.0 itb
That might free funds for a City attacker(preferably Kun/KDB) ahead of the Burnley game.
