Snoddy to Stan will give you the money to upgrade Lallana to Coutinho if you fancy.
Yes. Like giving yourself the option of upgrading Lallana to Coutinho if he hits form. Or a 4th mid upgrade in a 3-5-2. Do you have an elaborate rotation plan? In the very long run it likely pays off but it's very likely to cause frustration.

You just get a sense with him sometimes when he's about to go on a run. He's fairly predictable also. If he goes a couple of matches without scoring, it's time to ship him out.
