Back for 2017, partially refreshed and braced for the season run-in, the ScoutCast returns to herald a new leader in the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame.

With the legend that is Ville Ronka toppled, Granville, Jonty, Andy and myself start by doffing our cloth caps to the brand new name at the top – Jay Egersdorff.

An advocate of the 3-5-2, Jay provides the springboard for the episode’s big discussion, as we revisit the merits of a formation change to a “power five” midfield, while considering a big spend on a four-man defence.

Your community questions supply the rest of the ammunition, as we chew over rising stars Alli, Giroud and the fading stock of Hazard and Aguero and, against better judgment, we even touch on Nyomgate until Jonty swoops to pull the plug.

    Good comment from BBaggins above made me want to ask you guys who have been your most frustrating players so far this season? I stuck with Stones for so long it was like we got married Catholic. Arnie also had a special place in my heart as a clever Allen alternative that went nowhere.

      Fuchs, Stones & Williams have been super bad and I now have Cédric. That spot in my team is cursed I tell you. Otherwise i'd say Payet & kane for their back to back home games and NATHAN REDMOND.

      i put firmino in then a week later coutinho after um-ing and ar-ing for weeks over whether liverpool assets were worth it seeing as each players goal involvement was so low. the game i put couts in hes injured and firmino got no further points. grr

      capoue got me lots of points at the beginning but has now lost me a lot in value and hes never the biggest fire ive got so he stays week after week

      tekkers, but we all knew that didnt we?

      payet started very badly, well west ham did

      ive had sterling twice, once it went well once it didnt

      as soon as mark labelled siggy "near essential" on international TV i know he was doomed

        Definitely Hazard for me. Got him from the very beginning and enjoyed 2 good weeks. Then he blanked for a couple matches in a row and sold him. He punished me by scoring in 4 consecutive matches and I rushed to get him back after the Everton match...Then his form start to sink again...

      Callum Wilson. I bought him for Defoe just before he (Defoe) started firing on all cylinders. Wilson scored against Arsenal and I had benched him. I sold him last GW and sure enough, he scored again. Only thing I gained from him was his goal against Pool.

      Not much in the 4.5 bracket for defenders but Daniels is available at 5.2 so I'd prob say A from that perspective and look at switching Carroll for Gray next week ?

      You could move to 3-5-2 fairly smoothly over the coming weeks? Losing players like Carroll, Fletch & Alonso should be able to allow for Barnes or Crouch, Phillips & Baines maybe? Then you can rotate between Crouch, Phillips & Stan maybe.

        It is mainly for WBA great up coming fixtures and I have no spare cash for price rises.

        Basically I'll need to do Evans > Chambers/Friend/Ake (as already have Foster & McAuley, so need to free up a WBA place) and Allen > Philips, with two free transfers. Have the exact money.

        Philips will rise again soon and I will be priced out of a longer term consideration.

    So, Patrick van Aanholt to Crystal Palace, would be a great move FPL-wise.
    Great player but I regret have never been able to get him in this season due to Sunderland defensive record.

    Geez, money is tight this season....remember last year I never had less than 2.0m ITB at almost anytime.

    This year, every transfer takes me to a zero balance......yikes, no wriggle room at all.
