West Ham’s want-away Dimitri Payet is excluded from the squad to face Palace. Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin look set to miss out as Arsenal travel to Swansea, while Chris Brunt will be assessed ahead of West Brom’s visit to Spurs.

Slaven Bilic has conceded that Dimitri Payet won’t be considered for selection after asking to leave West Ham in the winter transfer window. Michail Antonio is currently suffering from a virus but the Hammers boss remains hopeful he will return to training today ahead of a home match with Crystal Palace. James Collins is back in contention after recovering from a calf complaint.

Reports suggest that Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott remain sidelined through ankle and calf problems respectively for Arsenal’s trip to Swansea, with the latter also expected to miss next week’s clash against Burnley. Mesut Ozil is back in contention, though, after recovering from illness.

Heurelho Gomes, Jose Holebas and Juan Camilo Zuniga are all available for Watford’s clash with Middlesbrough. Walter Mazzarri is hopeful on returns for Valon Behrami and Stefano Okaka, though Daryl Janmaat remains a big doubt and Isaac Success is still sidelined through injury.

Victor Valdes and Viktor Fischer are set to return for Middlesbrough’s clash with Watford, though Antonio Barragan and Gaston Ramirez are set to miss out.

Swansea’s Neil Taylor is ruled out for around three weeks with a fractured cheekbone sustained in training. New signing Luciano Narsingh is unavailable to face Arsenal due to a minor calf complaint.

Steven Davis will be assessed ahead of Southampton’s trip to Burnley, though Jordy Clasie has been passed fit after being withdrawn late on during the midweek cup win over Liverpool.

Erik Lamela remains sidelined for Spurs’ home match with West Brom due to an ongoing ankle complaint.

Jamie Vardy and Andy King have both recovered from illness and are available for Leicester’s clash with Chelsea. Leonardo Ulloa is almost certain to miss out due to a thigh problem, while Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that new signing Wilfred Ndidi could be in line for his league debut.

Stoke are without Jon Walters for the trip to Sunderland, with the Irishman set to undergo knee surgery. Bojan is a major doubt due to a hip problem as rumours of a move to Middlesbrough gather pace.

Chris Brunt will be assessed ahead of West Brom’s trip to Spurs after missing the FA Cup clash against Derby due to illness. Jonny Evans remains sidelined through injury, whilst the Baggies are still waiting for clearance on Allan Nyom, who has returned to the club after opting not to play for Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sam Allardyce is optimistic that Christian Benteke will recover from a shoulder problem in time for Palace’s trip to West Ham. James McArthur is expected to be available after returning to full training.

    Team is:

    Foster, Pickford,
    Alonso, Baines, Brunt, Amat, Smith
    Sanchez, Eriksen, Hazard, Sigurdsson, Fletcher
    Anichebe, Costa, Ibrahimovic

I have two free transfers, so what I was thinking is to do:

Anichebe, Sigurdsson and Alonso out, Defoe, Stanislas and Daniels/5.2 defender. It would be for -4 then.

    Any thoughts?

Must say that games cancelled by snow, really would make the FPL season a bit of a farce. Know it's happened before but how can anyone plan for this.

Always said the games much about luck, but this takes it to lottery levels of chance....

    1. Jafooli
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 6 days ago

Cancelled games could potentially wipe out some FPL teams, yet others could still field eleven and then they get a chance to go again in the DGW....not sure how cancellations should be managed though......

    2. greghammer95
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 6 days ago

Yes and no. We don't know when they're going to be called off but we can look at weather forecasts this week and see where it could snow and hence plan to this. Tomorrow morning we may find out postponements prior to the deadline, again I have contingencies in place for each game should this happen (I don't, but wish I did).

Makes it more fun too AND allows us to plan for more double gameweeks. Which are probably the single best thing in FPL.

        • 13 Years

Ah don't get me wrong....it's fun, but makes a mockery of planning....just becomes 100% luck.....

Ah I should have read this first !
Giroud looked very popular in here mid week

It'd be 50/50 for me if I owned both. If you need a differential then there's no reason why not.

I have been in the same sump for 3 months and struggling to find a way forward, considering Giroud as well as captain but generally dont use (c) to differentiate

Hogan to West ham looks like it's not happening atm. West Ham refuse to pay £15mil and Brentford refuse to lower valuation

It's embarrassing. We'd pay £12m but not that extra £3m for him. I don't know anything about him but as a West Ham fan this is just awful from the board. In today's money it's nothing and if we want a player for £12m then why not 15.

He has 'dodgy' knees so must put owners off. Similar to Charlie Austin

Knowing Walcott is out makes me really want Giroud for the next two. Wish Chelsea didn't have Hull (H) next. Costa to Giroud would be so nice.

..but if that's Iheanacho, you need to make a double move to shift him and Mane. Maybe Giroud + Stanislas?

Anyone leaning towards Aguero rather than Sanchez? Giroud up top, and Aguero away form is very very good.

    Boruc
    Alonso Cedric Holebas
Sanchez (C) Hazard Lallana Eriksen Stanislas
    Costa (VC) Defoe

    Pickford** Origi McAuley Lenihan*

    1FT 0.1iTB

Shall I sort out Cedric, Holebas or Origi this GW? Cedric played 90mins last night so will he play at the weekend, maybe or maybe not. Waiting on news for Holebas and basically Origi wont play. Which is more important?

    A) Cedric > Gibson / Chambers
    B) Holebas > Jones
    C) Origi > Rondon
